• Higher Education is OUR FUTURE and FLORIDA's FUTURE
Florida State University has had over 100 million dollars cut in the past four years from its recurring budget. Now, the Florida Legislature plans to cut at least another $250 million from higher education, and FSU faces at least a $10 million dollar cut or being stripped of reserve funds. Students are paying more for less. Support this petition if you don't want to see continued tuition increases or decreased academic services.

  • Governor Patrick: Ask MassDOT to Create a Cogent Transportation Routing Plan for Massachusetts
As some of you are aware, Visual Risk Technology and Dr. Lepofsky, MMTA’s hired consultant, has crafted a response to Battelle's response to MassDOT on issues raised in our analysis. After presenting Dr. Lepofsky's materials to MassDOT they have required Battelle to respond to points made in his report. Both of these reports are posted on our website for your review. In addition, we are hearing reports that MassDOT is poised to make a ruling this month. As some of you are aware, we are trying to come up with our own risk analysis that may refute the risk established in the Battelle report. We are asking now for all of our members to take action and sign on to this letter to the Governors office to ensure MassDOT creates a cogent transportation routing plan for Massachusetts.

  • Help Jada Williams Get Her Grades from Rochester NY Public School #3, to prove she was mistreated!
Jada Williams, a 13-year old city of Rochester student. Miss Williams wrote an essay on her impressions of Frederick Douglass’ first autobiography the Narrative of the Life. This was part of an essay contest, but her essay was never entered. It offended her teachers so much that, after harassment from teachers and school administrators at School #3, Miss Williams was forced to leave the school. http://blacklikemoi.com/2012/02/black-history/13-yr-old-allegedly-persecuted-by-teachers-for-radical-essay-on-frederick-douglass/

  • Moderates for America
We believe the vast majority of Americans are moderates. We may call ourselves Republicans,Democrats, Independents, but we are the vast middle seeking common ground and compromise to make our government work for all of the people.Although representing the majority of American voters,we are the overlooked group whose views and beliefs have been silenced by the extremes at both ends of the scale.

  • Twenty-year investigation of the harmful effects of diesel exhaust still unpublished.
Publication of a landmark government study probing whether diesel engine exhaust causes lung cancer in miners — already 20 years in the making — has been delayed by industry and congressional insistence on seeing study data and documents before the public does. Particles emitted in diesel exhaust are ultrafine — "smaller than a virus." These diesel particles, coated with toxic chemicals and metals, can penetrate cells and cause cancer and other diseases. See URL for more information: http://www.iwatchnews.org/2012/02/06/8088/landmark-diesel-exhaust-study-stalled-amid-industry-and-congressional-objections

  • Say No To City of Brookhaven
A few power hungry people in the Brookhaven-Ashford community in Dekalb County want another layer of governement, they are trying to create the City of Brookhaven. This new city will squeeze out more taxes from residents in the new city (and all of Dekalb County), extract more fees from business owners, deny people of color their constitutional and statutory rights and provide substandard and expensive municipal services. We do not need another expensive and unnecessary layer of government. We all calling on the Senators on the State and Local Government Operations Committee in the Georgia Senate to Vote no on HB 636.

  • Revamp the government
Our State Constitution needs to be revisited and revised. We need to establish term limits. We need to FORBID paid lobbyists from contacting our representatives or senators - more than likely they are from out of state and really don't have our state's well being in mind -- just their pocketbooks.

  • Electric Vehicles are the answer.
It's just a matter of time before big oil will take all your money. Lets face it EV's are the answer. Our enonomy is hurting because of gas prices and we can do something about it. EV's are being made today with a range of 300 miles and they will get better. It's time to get our politicians out of the pockets of big oil and get Obama to offer the big three auto makers more incentives to produce lower priced EV's. The air you breath will be cleaner and the Oil Co's will hate you for buying an EV.
