In 2008, President Obama signed the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities and that's where it has ended. The Convention sits at the White House and has not been passed on to the U.S. Senate for ratification.

New Orleans is one of the few remaining large cities in America to not have a major, custom, in-ground concrete skatepark despite the longstanding and massive BMX and skateboarding communities in the greater New Orleans region even though there are numerous public amenities for traditional sports. We're calling on the New Orleans city council to allocate funds for a major, custom, in-ground concrete skatepark such as the newly completed Baton Rouge skatepark with design input from the local BMX and skateboarding communities featuring hybrid terrain for everyone from beginners to advanced users to accommodate everyone from the youth to the veterans of the New Orleans BMX and skateboarding communities.

It is about promoting fairness as a criteria to get past the culture and class wars and unite us for needed political reform. It is committing to the principle and using it as the criteria, even if we still disagree about particular programs or policies, rather than employing more divisive language such as that used in the culture wars and class warfare.

My petition is about educating our children in another language. We have many languages in our world today. In our schools, we have to learn some of them to graduate. I want to make American Sign Language one of these languages our children have to learn. As a mother of a deaf child, I know first hand what happens when people don't take the time to try to understand him. Many problems can and have occurred. It's not like, " you live in America, so learn English! " Deaf Americans don't have a choice to learn another language ! Please sign my petition to have American Sign Language taught to our children in our schools .

Governor Nixon outlined a goal in the 2011 summit on higher education to give greater weight to revise funding to give greater weight to measurement and performance from institutions of higher education. Budget cuts have forced universities to reorganize their operating models to meet this new standard. The Missouri Academy of Science Mathematics and Computing is a high performing institution that deserves funding to operate at this excellent level of performance.

This petition is about the actions and choice of words that Mr Bolling holds towards African Americans. He has showed the uttermost disrespect for the life of Ms Whitney E. It shows a lack of dignity and thought. Many African Americans watch the Fox news channel and its affiliates. At the same time we should not have to be subjected to the blatant vulgar offensive type of language expressed through the mind of Mr Eric Bolling who is no more then referring to blacks as common drug addicts and "hoodlums"..... as he recently spoke of Brother President Obama "It's not the first time he's had a hoodlum in the hizzouse."~verbatim, referring to President Obama on hosting Gabonese President, Ali Bongo of Africa. He (Eric Bolling) should be removed from the Fox news organization as an anilyst for his actions is that of a child in grade school and not of a grown man in journalism. His "just kidding" remark on Congress woman Waters afterwords shows the lack of decency as his taste in judgement lacks moral in conforming to a standard of wrong behavior on the air for the public to see. This type of behavior should not be tollerated by Fox news and should relieve Mr Bolling from his duties with Fox corportation.

I spoke to a Cherokee lady that was born in Cherokee, NC. She said the casino there has only benefited the community. She said it was a high poverty area and the casino has helped restore the area.

This petition would be to insure that so many Americans are not disenfranchised by all the new bills passed at the State level to reduce the chances for Democrats to win. (Students, the poor, the less-educated, the too busy , those who cannot take time off...) This will reduce voter suppression in many swing states.
