As my title indicates, I would like the voters to be protected against outright lies in campaign statements and advertising.

17 year old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed while walking home from a convenience store on the evening of February 26th. The shooter, George Zimmerman, was the neighborhood watch captain. Zimmerman, a 200 pound 28 year old with a history of violence, claimed self defense although Trayvon Martin, with no criminal history, had nothing more than candy and an iced tea in his hands. George Zimmerman remains free.

This petition is to end the misuse of credit reports as barriers to getting people back to work. You may recall 60% of employers are now using credit reports in hiring even though there is no evidence that they predict the quality of an employee and hundreds of thousands of Coloradans have had their credit impacted, due to no fault of their own, by the recent recession. Furthermore, there are major errors in the credit reports of over 20 million Americans. It's time to remove this unnecessary barrier to getting people back to work. The bill passed the Colorado Senate on a vote of 20 - 15 but the bill faces significant challenges in the House. It is scheduled for hearing in the Colorado House Monday March 19, 2012 at 1:30 PM. It is the 2nd bill up. Please testify in support of SB 3 to help us end this practice that creates a vicious cycle of unemployment. All politicians that pass legistlature against women, minorities, or reduce benefits for the disabled should be sought out, brought out, talked about, & voted out of government. These people are causing the US to be like the Middle East. The people will fight, don't worry. At election time & or before. Petitions will be signed, & Governors who take any of this lightly will be gone.

Rush Limbaugh's attack on Sandra Fluke, the college student who spoke to Congress about women's reproductive rights, calling her a slut and a prostitute and asking her to make a sex video, is beyond reprehensible and should be the end of his on-air career. Let's convince KRGI to kick him off the air in Grand Island.

Governor Corbett's proposed budget would nearly eliminate the funding for families who receive intellectual disability services funded by state -only dollars. My sister Mary has been receiving funding since she became ill and my father was no longer able to care for her. The home she is currently living in run by Devereux is being forced to close. Mary and others like her are vulnerable. Governor Corbett said he valued children and adults with intellectual disabilities as fully participating members of society and that he would work to provide them with the support they need to achieve their potential. Make him fullfill that promise he made to me and the thousands of other families with relatives with intellectual disabilities!

It's time we stopped the hate and misinformation that is undermining us as a society. Persons like Limbaugh provide a brand of entertainment that demeans us as a society. Let's take back our airwaves and deny special interest money's negative effect on us all.
