• Stop the Wasteful Destruction of Forests and Habitats by San Francisco Natural Areas Program (NAP)
The "Natural Areas Program" controls 1/4 of San Francisco city parkland and is destroying 18,500 trees and wildlife habitat, closing 10 miles of trails, and increasing toxic herbicide in an attempt to "restore" the dune plants which were here in 1776. San Francisco Forest Alliance at http://sfforest.net is a new organization trying to stop the expansion of this unnatural and unsustainable program. The program diverts $1.6 million a year from park operating funds and millions in park bonds and state grants while SF Rec & Park is cutting basic park programs, increasing park fees, and asking for more bond funding. The NAP DEIR can be found at: http://sfmea.sfplanning.org/2005.0912E_DEIR.pdf One of the significant comments to the DEIR can be found at: http://milliontrees.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/professor-arthur-shapiros-comment-on-the-environmental-impact-report-for-the-natural-areas-program/ San Francisco Forest Alliance Preserving Public Parks For The Public SFForest.Net

  • Identity Theft Protection
Identity theft is a growing problem for our society. However, in many cases there are no sound provisions in place to protect consumers. Having been victim of Identity theft and being accused of crimes as a result of the identity theft, all of which could have been prevented if the location had a camera or any other measure to identify the thief. This is the thing that sticks out most is that in Georgia check cashing locations are not REQUIRED TO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPH individuals making the transaction. Not having these measures in place allows criminals to steal checks and cash them, duplicate an individuals ID card or Driver License and use them, make fraudulent wire transactions and much more and all the while these criminals are going undetected. In the meantime causing many problems in the victims lives financially and many cases criminal with felonious charges because some locations do not have cameras or any other measure to identify individual in questionable transactions.

  • Personhood Ammendment
Corporations are abusing their definition as persons, and are increasing their ownership of the political process. Until they are stripped of that personhood, human beings will never regain control of the political process.

  • Give freedom to women on health care
Conservatives passed more laws on abortion and contraception in the last year than any time in our history. Move on to fixing the economy with more jobs. Ask your self why they are preoccupied with interfering with women.

  • Down With Rusty Cars
According to the NHTSA, rusty or other outdated auto parts are implicated in more mechanical failure-related accidents than design flaws, unmet recalls, and manufacturing defects combined. Tell Congress to renew the Cash for Clunkers incentives that were so important in our recovery from the recession -- and can help improve highway safety at the same time.

  • Let's Get the Senate to Act!
We need to get Sen. Harry Reid, US Senate Majority Leader, to bring to a vote the 30 jobs bills that are languishing on the Senate floor because he prefers to play political games rather than help the economy or those Americans who are suffering.

  • Tell AT&T NO to throttling unlimited data plans
We pay for "unlimited" data plans, and they want to throttle our usage at lower thresholds than their greedy tiered plans! Tell the corporate bloodsuckers they have no entitlement to unrestricted profits at their customers expense!

  • Equal rights to pay your taxes for all.
My petition is to raise public awareness to the fact that even the poorest pay at least 28% of their income in taxes, why is it that the rich and the corporations who are raking in the money get by without paying taxes. Poor people, if they get a substantial raise in their income, they get an equal raise in their tax bracket. I
