Create a Federal agency to protect the consumer from unscrupulous medical and dental insurance co...WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Create a specific Federal agency to help people fight medical and dental Insurance companies denial of payments. This petition is to request the Federal government to create an agency for the purpose of protecting the consumer from medical and dental insurance denials of payments to providers. Currently, each state has a department of Insurance that is charged with compliance of the Insurance laws, but more often then not they side with the insurance companies reason for denial. The consumer has no recourse but to try and resolve the denial through court. We need a consumer protection agency to be an advocate for unscrupulous medical and dental companies that find a way to deny payment of covered services.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Diana Grillo

Demand that Congress Regulate Collection PractisesIt is time for the US to regulate the practices of debt collectors. In todays economic climate many good, hardworking people find themselves deep in financial trouble as a result of things they cannot control. Jobs that have been lost or have been replaced with jobs that do not pay a living a wage, reduced or no benefits, rapidly escalating prices of items essential to survival, there are so many people who have worked all their lives and faithfully paid their debts, but now find themselves unable to keep up payments they were able to afford just a few years ago. The resulting feeding frenzy by debt collectors is unprecedented in its savagery. These collectors literally thumb their noses at any notion of fair debt collection practices, and their activities are no less than unlawful harassment of people already pushed to the limit theri circumstances. It is time for the US government to regulate the collection industry and to require debt collectors to treat those who are genuinely trying to pay their debts with the respect that they have earned. Just because people are struggling should not mean they no longer have rights. Yes there is a federal debt collections practises act, but far too many collectors, especially bank employees ignore these practices and laugh at the idea that they have any limits to what they can do.Many companies do not even require their collectors to know there are limits at all.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Frank Beaty

Say NO To Fetus Personhood Legislation! The right to liberty includes choice and free will. As a concerned American citizen, will you urge your local, state, and federal leaders not to support fetus personhood legislation? Currently, there are proposed ballot measures or referendums in 15 states: Colorado, North Dakota, Mississippi, Ohio, Montana, California, Kansas, Virginia, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada, Arkansas, and Florida. If approved, they will dismantle female reproductive rights setting woman back hundreds of years. Fetus personhood laws would make abortion a criminal offense, effectively cancelling out Roe v. Wade, outlawing abortion. Fetus personhood legislation will truly leave woman relying on unconventional birth control methods such as: aspirin between the knees; black cat bone around the neck; harmful vaginal suppositories such as crocodile fecal matter and citric acid; and (or) spitting into a frogs mouth to name a few. When those methods do not work, woman will be forced to use a coat hanger! Do we really want to go back to the dark ages? Fetus personhood legislation is a threat to women and physicians like Dr. Howard Jones, co-founder of the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School understands. Dr. Jones told The Virginian Pilot: "[Fetus] personhood [legislation] would write into state law the proposition that life begins at conception. [It confers on] the unborn child at every stage of development all the rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens, and residents…The bill is widely seen as an anti-abortion measure, but it has broader implications. [In cases of ectopic pregnancy], it would make the surgeon a little nervous about what the implications would be if he removed a living person. Yet if he doesn't, he's exposing the mother to great risk. [Fetus personhood] legislation is a naive expression based on a failure to understand the biology involved." According to Planned Parenthood, 88% of American voters agree that women should have reproductive rights. Ask yourself - Should government be allowed to craft legislation that oppresses women? Do you really see your mother, sister, daughter and (or) wife as second-class citizens only good for being barefoot and pregnant? I don't! We must stop this MADDNESS!!!! Don't allow women to lose their rights as a citizen!14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen McDow
