  • Boehner Must Resign
John Boehner has invested a lot of money in Canadian Oil Companies and is pushing to pass the Keystone XL Pipeline at any cost, including tying it to the next payroll tax cut extension. He has invested $365,000 in seven companies that would benefit from the Keystone Pipeline approval, setting himself up to reap great financial rewards from his investment. We are calling for his resignation. http://www.politicususa.com/en/john-boehner-keystone-scandal

  • Mr. Zuckerberg: Do NOT force Timeline or I will close my account.
Facebook founders are forcibly going to change our profiles to the so called timeline, therefore making it more stalker friendly with confusing ways of hiding our information. Let's sign this petition for them to change that policy by February 15th or else we shutdown our accounts and have advertisers migrate.

  • Repeal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which was enacted on 11/12/1999 by than President Bill Clinton, is the genesis and cause for the banking corruption we are now experiencing in this country. This law removed key components from the Glass-Steagall Act which was enacted on 6/6/1933 as an effective and most enduring way to ensure the integrity of our banking system. After the enactment of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley-Act, there have been an onslaught of illicit and criminal acts perpetuated by the very banks that caused the Great Depression. These banks, with impunity, have manipulated our political leaders to do their bidding. Therefore, we are requesting the Gramm-Leach-Bliley-Act and the 74 CFTC Act are reenacted to ensure our banks are not allowed to become "too big to fail" and to enact laws to protect themselves from their crimes.

  • Before and After School Care for Lake Jackson Area children
Canopy Oaks Elementary School and our other surrounding elementary schools are poised to graduate our 5th graders this year and a they are zoned to continue their middle school education at RAA Middle School. We also have families in our area who have sent their child out of the designated school zone, due to the lack of before and after school care on our area. Since middle school does not start accepting our children until 8:45am and most of us are working parents I have approached the Lake Jackson YMCA and asked that they provider before and after school care for our children. I choose the YMCA because their doors open at 5:30am and remain open to well after the work day is over. They are also a family oriented facility who already have an established child care room for parents who work out there.
