• Take Back Our Classrooms!
Oregon will soon be making some enormous changes to our educational system. These changes are coming at us fast. But guess what? Most of the people responsible for these changes are not educators--they are politicians, CEOs, and administrators. We need professional educators at the helm of this ship, not people outside the profession. Please help us to make this happen. Your signature will move us one step closer towards making sure this is a process led by professional educators and not an educational reform movement led by politically motivated administrators and CEOs. Thank you. • New York State Senator Redistricting
Redistricting for NYS Senators. The proposed redistricting plan puts the entire Town of Ossining in District 38 which consists of communities on the west side of the Hudson River while Ossining is on the east side. We are asking that Ossining be put into a New York State Senate district which is entirely in Westchester County.

  • Stop the Lowering of Property Taxes for Industries and the Increasing of Residential Property Tax
There are 2 bills being proposed in the Kansas State Legislature, HB 2501 and SB 317, that will lower property taxes for the manufacturing industries of Kansas. Lowering these taxes on corporations would shift the difference onto residential homeowners and other non-manufacturing businesses of Kansas. We're telling our state legislature that we do not support the idea of lowering taxes for corporations and increasing taxes on the people.

  • President Obama: Please Save the Syrian People
Thousands of peaceful Syrians who demanded political freedom in Syria have been killed by Bashar Al Assad Security Forces. Thousands more are detained or killed under torture. The peaceful city of Homs has been under warlike attack by Assad for two weeks. Please call on President Barack Obama to use his influence to stop the genocide in Syria. The United States is the only country that could stop Russia and Iran from providing Assad with weapons, money, and fighters. Time is not on our side as Assad brutal attack on Homs and other Syrian cities is on the rise.

Voice opposition to the current B-1 zoning at the county line site. Change the zoning at the county line site from B-1 General Business to NB- Neighborhood Business, which would encourage business that is better scaled to meet the needs of the surrounding community.

  • Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission: please open the rec building to nude recreation.
The county parks dept. is formed to provide recreation not readily available in the community; there are no public nude beaches in Michigan and no private nudist resorts in the county. The police charge skinnydippers with "disturbing the peace" even without a citizen's complaint. The county's recreation building is closed on Saturday nights. We ask that the recreation building be opened to nude recreation on Saturday nights.

  • Petition to Buy Chemical-Free Mattresses Without a Medical Prescription
In the United States, it is currently law that commercially manufactured mattresses contain chemical fire retardants. Standard chemicals include (but are not limited to): 1) Antimony, a known toxin most similar to lead and arsenic, 2) Boric Acid, a roach killer and known poison to humans, and 3) DBDPO, a flame retardant with unknown effects in humans, but evidence to suggest possible liver, thyroid, reproductive/developmental, and neurological effects. In one study, it was determined that each night spent sleeping on these mattresses, we absorb on average .802mg of Antimony, .081 Boric Acid, .073 DBDPO. These amounts have been shown in infants (using crib mattresses) to adults. *THESE LEVELS OFTEN EXCEED EPA SAFETY STANDARDS* Moreover, according to our laws, in order to purchase a mattress without these toxic chemicals you must obtain a prescription from your doctor. This law hurts consumers and small businesses, making these chemical free mattresses pricey, hard to obtain, unsafe, and environmentally damaging. Please consider signing this petition and send a message to our lawmakers for the right to individually choose a mattress with or without chemicals.

  • BUBBLE-UP ECONOMIC POLICY
The petition is about bubble-up economics, funding those at the bottom - from which the top will also prosper. While this may cost roughly $1 trillion, it will funnel money to those who need it the most and are most likely to spend it, resulting in a relatively high multiplier, higher earnings, and higher tax revenues, reducing the net deficit.

  • EDUCATION CUTS
Is Gov.Corbett deliberately trying to undermine education in PA? Is this part of Norquist's agenda, to whom Corbett pays homage? What's going on? Gov. Corbett, restore funding to the schools. You were hired to serve the citizens of PA, not Norquist.

  • SAVE OUR PRECIOUS COLORADO ENVIRONMENT
Please stop fracking in Colorado. This process does untold harm to our environment. It does not solve the energy problems in America. Unfortunately, the more we get the more we use. We must look to other sources for energy and learn to conserve. Colorado needs to set an example for the nation.
