Congress has gone too far by putting itself above the people, is corrupt and disfunctional. America needs a constitutional amendment to bring congress back to the people.

The federal government is proposing to grant a first-of-its-kind permit that would allow the developer of a central Oregon wind-power project to legally kill golden eagles. Don't allow the greed of big business to legalize the death of these magnificent national treasures.

This petition is about the mortgage mess. I want the Federal government to make the big banks use the money provided to modify for good the unscrupulous loan products those banks "sold" to hard-working, able americans who fell prey to the collapse of the economy. The architects of the housing collapse should be punished. We bailed them out. Now, they are holding us hostage. It's our money and we want it now!!

I would like to start a petition for home owners whose home values have dropped below their purchase price and who are not able to refinance due to new regulations of huge lending corporations which already have been bailed out by the government at least once and which are not only in my opinion criminal organisations. I would like to suggest to all home owners who are "under water" to stop paying mortgage payments countrywide. Nothing else is done for people who are left in this situation by anybody.

Every American student (except for 3% with serious handicaps or other issues) is supposed to be achieving on grade level every year, climbing in lockstep up an ever more challenging ladder. Puerto Rico has been a commonwealth of the United States for 50 years and we the residents of the island are asking the congress of the United States to take action on this matter. The Congress has really not taken any action what so ever to change or view the actual status of Puerto Rico. Congressmen, can you please take action soon?

I work for a state employer that allows me and others to get health insurance at low or no cost - because we are in a GROUP. I don't understand why insurance companies can't offer group insurance to individuals/families that are in the same region. The group shares the burden of the cost while getting the benefits.

Today, more than 60% percent of America's imate population are incarderqted for nonviolent crimes. This government policy implemented more than 30 years ago by the Reagan administration has not only been capricious and unjust, in that minorities have been it primary target, it has also been one of biggest drains on taxpayer's dollars. This failed policy has been an economic burden on the American taxpayer, causing a never ending need to spend precious resources in order to build more prisons to incarcerate instead of spending those tax dollars to educate our children, not to mention, releasing violent criminals into our communities in order to relieve prison overcrowding. We must put an end to this government madness.
