• Bloated Government
Since trimming government spending is uppermost in the minds of our legislators, it is fitting that the trimming must start with them. Their salaries and benefits are way too large; limos, parking, inflated pensions and staff enough to populate a middle size city. Yes, the running of the government needs serious downsizing. It is a terrible drain on the American taxpayers. A 25% cut in salaries, benefits and staff may just go a long way in getting our nation back on it's feet. (This petition does not apply to maintenance personnel.)

  • Repeal the Arizona Government Ruling Outlawing Teaching ethnic/racial Studies
This is a Petition to Repeal the most recent Arizona State Government ruling outlawing the teaching of ethnic/racial Studies. This racist Arizona ruling not only applies to Mexican American Studies, it also implicates Black/African American/Africana Studies, Latino/Hispanic Studies, Native American and Asian Studies within public schools and state and city colleges and universities. Given their records, there is NO presidential candidate--Democratic or Republican--who will support the fight to repeal this ruling

  • Term limits in Congress and all states
Just as the President of the USA can only serve for 8 years, others serving in Congress and all States should only serve for the same period. There is too much greed and corruption.

  • Cleaner Air, Water and Better Health
Hundreds of community health studies have linked daily increases in fine particle pollution to reduced lung function, greater use of asthma medications, and premature death. Beyond the air contamination of tailpipe emissions, tire tread wear, leaking automotive fluids, brake pad deterioration, even dirty car-washing water and supplies are killing our reefs, affecting water quality and causing road pollution.

  • Legalize medical grass and decriminalize the rest.
In 14 states, VAs give medical grass to vets. What about the vets in different states? Did they serve in another country's army? Alcohol and cigarettes are more dangerous to health than weed. I beat pancreatic cancer in 2010 but couldn't legally smoke grass because I live in New York. New Jersey is OK? Of course our country is divided. By laws as well. No good.

  • Reject mandatory government-issued photo in order to vote
Tennessee Voters will be required this year (2012) to have a government issued photo ID in order to vote. This will cause a serious impediment for many people and disenfranchise them, particularly the elderly, the disabled, rural and low income voters, not to mention people of color and college students of other states re presidential elections. This amounts to a poll tax, having had to show a proterty deed in order to vote.

  • STOP BANK FORECLOSURES ON AMERCIAN
Last week, Attorney General Kamala Harris announced that California would withdraw from multi-state negotiations with some of the nation’s largest banks to reach a settlement on their foreclosure practices. And in a conference call she held earlier this week with various ethnic media outlets, including Univision and Black Voice News, Harris outlined a separate plan that will combine litigation, public education, and legislation to fundamentally reform how banks do business in an effort to prevent further foreclosure in the state.

  • Recycling Bins In Birmingham
Having visited other major cities in the UK I have noticed a number of multi-use bins which provide separate containers for different types of waste that would reduce the amount of waste Birmingham has to send to landfill and would dramatically increase the amount of recycling.

  • Broadcast Service
In the last year we have seen big business take over the airwaves. I want the stations to restore the level of Broadcase service back to where it was before the big move to put HD TV everywhere. Stations should have been required to maintain levels of service and broadcasting. Many consumers do not receive signals from major stations.

  • Corporations ARE NOT people!
The decision the Supreme Court made allowing corporations to have more rights than individual people concerning the amount of political donations is is hurting the political process. This decision needs to be reversed.

  • Service animals and AA Clubs.
I'm refused to AA meetings in a building that doesn't allow animals. (dogs especially) I've been an upstanding member of "The A Club" on Missouri St, New Port Richey. I'm hearing impaired and am by law, both Florida Statutes and ADA. We passed our AKC Good Citizen Award, and are learning signal and allert. I want to at least contiue going to AA meetings there, I don't need to be a member of the bootleg cult that rents AA there meetings.
