In Colorado, spending what we do now or less, we can have full health care for everyone, with better outcomes. Coloradans deserves to have affordable, quality health care. Every taxpayer and business needs relief from escalating insurance costs. We need to pay for our health care in a way that is efficient, transparent and accountable to us - the residents of Colorado. We need Colorado money to stay in Colorado and to create Colorado jobs.  The Federal health reform legislation won't get us there. Fishing licenses sold in Oregon should be valid for one year from the date of purchase. As it stands, if an Oregon resident was to purchase an annual fishing license on say December 2nd, this "annual" license would expire on Janurary 1st.

Paypal has shut down a collection of over $5000 to help over 200 children/families in need across the US. Their reasoning is trite and insane, and now these children/families will not know the joy of Christmas this season.

Occupy Wall Street, having been violently evicted from Zuccotti Park, is desperately searching for a new home in Lower Manhattan. And Trinity Wall Street Episcopal Church has a vacant lot just a mile away that could be an ideal location. As a group of occupiers put it in an open letter, "We have asked the Church time and time again to grant us political sanctuary on their unused lands. It is time for Trinity to decide whether it is a Church or a real estate company. " The group began a hunger strike on the site over the weekend, and Trinity responded by calling the New York Police Department and having the protesters arrested. We've launched this petition to send a message to Trinity: It's time to offer sanctuary to Occupy Wall Street!

The Governor has slashed funding for schools, roads, healthcare, and first responders, and with another billion dollar shortfall he may try again. However, there is a better way: a balanced approach that includes bringing in new revenue by closing ineffective or inefficient loopholes will save jobs and protect our economy. We're calling on the Governor to take a balanced approach to this shortfall!

Seattle Parks and Recreation has decided to give the lease of what is currently Alki Fish and Crab Company and Alki Kayak Tours and Adventure Center to an "undisclosed recipient'. This simply won't do! Eric Galanti has been there for us with great food, hot chocolate, ice cream, and even just this year the new "Dive Bar" (since its one of the most popular scuba diving sites in the Seattle Metropolitan area.. Yvonne and the other owners of the business were very helpful and supportive in the placing of an AED for shoreline & diving emergencies in memory of a diver who passed away a couple years ago. (a project spearheaded by local diver Doug Marcoux and his dive buddies) We have printed a paper copy of the petition and dropped it off at the register at Alki Crab and Fish Co. There will be blank pages for signatures for folks who don't want to sign online petition. We can't let this place be shut down! Thank you for your support!
