Do not touch what we have worked for and paid into for years. We are on a fixed income and can not afford to have anything taken away from us. While everyone from our legislators to the president have discussed saving Social Security retirement, the issue of Social Security disability (SSDI/SSI) has abruptly disappeared from the public discussion, and this bodes ill for the disabled. Social Security disability recipients have already "shared the pain," being hit with a series of benefit cuts, "adjustments" and freezes in recent years. Please call on our govt to protect the disabled.

The petition advocates 100 percent fulfillment of the terms of all the treaties the US signed with Indian nations, full funding of federal programs contracted by Indian tribes, and a return, as far as possible of treaty lands that were taken under the Dawes Act and by other legerdemain.

My petition is about the most outrageous clause ever to appear in a legislative act. It prevents the prescription drug act's administration from negotiating drug prices with pharmaceutical firms. This is outright graft. A billions of dollars legislative gift to major campaign donors.

Any bill passed by congress to restrict or limit Social Security or Medicare benefits of the people will result in an equal loss of salaries, pensions and medical benefits to all past, present and future members of congress. If we can live with less, so can they.

Congress is not working for the people

The justification offered by Congressional Republican leadership for refusing to consider increasing tax revenues through the suspension of the Bush-era tax cuts is that it would discourage or suppress new job creation by the benefitting industry sector and enterprise organizations. However, no analysis from independent agencies has been provided that document a net gain in new jobs created within the US, resulting from the 10+ years that the Bush-era tax cuts? have been in effect.

In an era of unprecedented national debt and deficit, many of our elected officials adamantly refuse to raise taxes and are instead calling for additional tax cuts for the wealthiest segment of society. This distorted thinking gains tacit approval each time it is repeated and reported without critical condemnation. Citizens can and should feel free to say, "nobody likes to pay taxes, but increasing taxes on those most able to afford it is practical, necessary, reasonable - and realistically, a burden one can live with." This petition will tell the President and Congress in clear terms that many Americans support increasing taxes. A maximum marginal tax rate of 49% on earnings above $250,000 will help sustain solid social programs and gradually pay-down our debt, while allowing those earning the most money to keep most of what they make. I'm fine with 49 - are you?

For our media outlets to ever be truly "free" they must be free of the shakles of those "owners" who influence what is and isn't told to the American people. Move ownership of all corporate mass media news outlets into the holding hands of "blind-trusts" that are then not allowed to influence journalists freedoms to report the truth as they see it!

The town of Watertown is proposing a 100 ft Cell tower at the local DPW on Orchard St. This is across from Lowell Elementary, next to Victory Field, and surrounded by many residential homes. The area may not actually need a full tower to bridge any dead/soft zones. Other solutions (smaller/less impact) may be possible. Our children may be at risk! Market values on homes nearby will be negatively impacted. Please consider signing the petition so that the Town Council will understand that the town and residents do not need/want this 100ft tower. Please look into all alternatives! The Town hired an agency to map cell coverage who found the town had good coverage. March 20th 2014 5:15-7pm Town Hall meeting to review the document to allow Cell Towers/Antennas on public land! This document makes many assumptions.
