  • Surviving Spouse
I host a Dementia Support Group. All spouses that have lost their life partner struggled to check the box for Widow when they were filling out official documents. It added negativity to the already painful grieving process.

  • Rep. Stephen Lynch - Shut down the camps!
We are a group of hundreds of ordinary, concerned constituents. Even though we have been to the representative's office 6 times over the past few weeks, his staff could not even tell us his position on current US policy on family detention in border camps. Rep. Lynch has even voted to give unfettered funding to continue operating these camps. We have also called on Rep. Lynch to push for Impeachment hearings, which he continues to oppose, and to hold a town hall to meet discuss these issue with his constituents during August recess.

  • Tell Congress: No federal funds for Trump's racist "public charge" rule
The Trump administration just leveled yet another cruel attack on immigrant families with its heartless "public charge" rule—and it's up to Congress and the courts to mitigate the damage. The Department of Homeland Security's newly-finalized regulation is nothing more than a "wealth test" on immigrant families who are seeking a healthy, stable feature in the US. It means that means that if you aren't white and wealthy, you aren't welcome in the U.S. And it goes into effect, it would separate countless families. If this rule is implemented, families will be forced to choose between health care, food and homes, and a safe, stable future in the U.S. because using basic safety net programs—like SNAP—could threaten their pathway to a green card in the future. This is a blatant attempt to create a backdoor administrative family separation policy, and it would virtually close America's doors on anyone who isn’t white and wealthy. The best way to build a strong country is to ensure that the families who live here—who are woven into the success of our communities—have the tools they need to thrive. Congress has the power to take the teeth out of this cruel plan by refusing to allow federal funds to be used to punish people for taking care of their families.

  • Save the Endangered Species Act
The Trump administration’s decision to eviscerate the Endangered Species Act is an appalling attack on America’s wildlife. The changes made will severely weaken protections for thousands of threatened and endangered species across the country. For animals like wolverines and monarch butterflies, this could be the beginning of the end. The American public broadly supports the Act because it is the single-most important law for saving thousands of animals and plants from extinction. It’s the reason that we still have grizzly bears, wolves, sea turtles and bald eagles around today.

  • Save the Endangered Species Act! Oppose the Trump Extinction Plan
Donald Trump's Departments of Interior and Commerce have published drastic changes to the way they carry out the Endangered Species Act. Under these revisions, protecting endangered and threatened species and the wild places they rely upon will be much more difficult. The Endangered Species Act is phenomenally successful. It has a 99 percent success rate at preventing the extinction of species in its care. But it only works if politicians stay out of the way. Please add your name to tell the Senate to pass legislation instructing the Trump Administration to carry out the Endangered Species Act as written.

  • Cancel Judge Genece Brinkley!
Judge Genece Brinkley of Philadelphia is the reason Meek Mill has gotten caught up in this country’s broken criminal justice system. She is not only responsible for Meek Mill’s disenfranchisement, but she is responsible for the unjust jailing of an astronomical number of young black men. She continually files dozens of civil lawsuits against her own tenants (yes she is also a landlord of an apartment complex in the area) that have no legitimacy. She is a corrupt judge. She is just one more piece of this corrupt criminal justice system. Sign this petition and send to everyone. Post this link everywhere you can. Judge Genece Brinkley needs to go NOW, before anyone else under her rule is unjustly sentenced.

  • Trump: stop killing animals with cyanide bombs!
According to Newsweek, the EPA "has reauthorized the use of controversial devices known as M-44s, or 'cyanide bombs,' which are designed to kill certain animals for predator control purposes." It's inhuman and dangerous!

  • Save Graniteville Wetlands Forest
Comment on Application # 2-6401-00287/00002 seeking an Article 24 Freshwater Wetlands Permit: We are living in a Post-Sandy world and need to retain all the resiliency we can, especially natural. These trees absorb water from flash flooding storms we are constantly having due to climate change. They also absorb air pollution from Newark Airport and chemical factories in nearby Linden, NJ. My neighbors and I in Graniteville, Staten Island were spared the devastation - loss of life and property - that the East and South Shores communities of Staten Island suffered because of this wetland forest. The East and South Shore communities will be protected by a $400 million-plus seawall to be built and have incorporated their wetlands into the Bluebelt to ensure they won't be ravaged again. By destroying the Graniteville Wetlands Forest for a Big Box Store, we are destroying the only protection we have.
