1/24/21 Senate Republicans know that Trump deserves to be convicted , but they are still frightened of crossing Trump and his base. Only 17 GOP senators are needed to convict, and the Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, has told his caucus to vote their conscience. A secret ballot would allow them to do this. The senators are not only witnesses to the insurrection, they are also victims, being forced to flee and hide for several hours. Trump's speech to the mob of his supporters is public, as is his subsequent message "We love you, you are special". His months of whipping up the alt-right to believe that he actually won the 2020 election is public, as is his encouragement of the motto, "Stop the Steal". “The mob was fed lies,” McConnell said on the Senate floor on the last full day of Trump’s presidency. “They were provoked by the president and other powerful people. More and more evidence is coming to light that he or his staff was in touch with the leaders of the crowd, and helped them to plan; also, that he was behind the slow response of law enforcement, especially of calling up the National Guard. The Senate will convict Trump, if they are allowed to vote by secret ballot. Japan has historically disregarded and disrespected Native people of the Pacific. On 11/29/19, a group of concerned citizens came together in a show of Pacific solidarity to deliver a statement to the Consulate General of Japan. Restrictions were placed on the group. Only one person was allowed to enter the Consulate under the supervision of armed Federal agents to deliver a hard copy of the statement to an aid of the Consulate General. Most people I know from the Park Ridge area, including myself, have been pulled over in Park Ridge at least once for various reasons. As 20-year-olds, my friends and I can say without hesitation that the Park Ridge police department looks for younger drivers on the road and will pull them over and know that they can write them up and give them a hard time. It’s rare to drive through Park Ridge Town without seeing flashing lights and someone pulled over and it’s time that the police start to serve and protect its citizens instead of targeting them.

As a veteran Missouri teacher, I understand Rep Bailey's intent is to defund and privatize our public schools.

I am a veteran Missouri public school teacher and I have followed Rep Bailey's rise in Missouri politics. Rep Bailey has very active social media accounts in which she attacks her constituents, she has threatened to use loaded guns for violent encounters, and she frequently uses anti-Semitic slurs. Rep Bailey has accepted money from those determined to privatize our schools and dismantle our local school boards. She has also been celebrated publicly by ALEC for her support of charter schools. Rep Bailey's appointment to the Missouri Education Committee is potentially dangerous to public schools and Missouri's children.

To glean more serious law enforcement investigations and more attention from the national media to end the disappearances and recover these missing women and girls.

I want to remove the Zuckerberg name from San Francisco General Hospital. I don't believe Zuckerberg should be part of our city until he refutes racism, fascism, antisemitism, and LGBTQ discrimination by renouncing the Trump-Pence regime and not making backroom deals with white-supremacist Republican Politicians.

Putin wakes up each day thrilled that House and Senate Republicans are regurgitating his disinformation talking points about Ukraine and the 2016 election and the Bidens. These complicit Putin Republicans are helping to sow discord within our democracy resulting in mistrust of our institutions and the electoral process. President Trump’s web of lies and corruption is continuing to grow -- and the latest to be implicated is California Representative Devin Nunes. Rep. Nunes -- ranking member of House Intelligence Committee and one of President Trump’s most aggressive supporters in Congress -- is under suspicion of meeting with former Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin in Vienna last year. The purpose of this alleged covert meeting? To obtain information on Trump’s political rival, Vice President Joe Biden. If true, these new accusations would implicate Rep. Nunes in the crime at the heart of Trump’s impeachment inquiry -- and raise new questions as to how deep the Trump administration’s corruption goes. Rep. Nunes is threatening and attempting to discredit news outlets like CNN that reported this story. Congress must thoroughly and expeditiously investigate these claims. Rep. Nunes, who has access to classified and top-secret information, has already lied and sought to derail the House’s impeachment investigation -- and we can’t let him cover up his own potential role in Trump’s scheme. Bakhodir Madjitov, a Connecticut father of 3 young boys, had been living in the US for 11 years when ICE raided his home in the early morning hours of December 22, 2017. He’s been in custody ever since. His children are suffering – and we’re concerned that he may be deported soon. Bakhodir’s wife Madina was 39 weeks pregnant with a complicated pregnancy when ICE entered their home without a warrant 2 years ago. Bakhodir and Madina’s third child was born a week after ICE detained his father. Prior to being detained, Bakhodir supported his family as a home health aide working with a government issued ID. In the last 2 years, ICE has moved Bakhodir around the country in detention centers in Massachusetts, Alabama, New Jersey, and Louisiana. Madina and her lawyers are concerned that ICE might be planning to deport Bakhodir- even though he has an active case pending. Connecticut values families.
