• Bring back Mary Bubala!
I think this woman was unfairly fired. If a man would have said what she said, nothing would have been done about it. I think it was a biased and unfair decision to fire her. Mary has been in service to Baltimore viewers for 15 years and has never done anything wrong.

  • OUR children NEED Mrs. Michelle Archie
Michelle Archie is very much liked and admired by teachers, students and parents across the Harrisburg City School District. She has an outstanding reputation for having a great relationship and rapport with not only the students of the district but also their parents, colleagues and the community members as well. Mrs. Archie as the children call her, goes above and beyond her required duties as a Harrisburg School District administrator. She does this because she cares deeply about our students. Her reputation is also one of integrity and fairness. For me, this is personal. Mrs. Archie has had a HUGE impact in the lives of not one, not two, but THREE of my children. All of this was while she worked at what is now called Rowland Academy. My oldest son is 20 years old and he has now graduated high school and is in college. While my son attended Rowland, he wasn't perfect. There were several occasions I had to come and talk WITH Mrs. Archie. She didn't talk TO me, but WITH me. We would come up with strategies together. That is when the relationship and the bond was created with not only me but my son as well. He is now a two time state basketball champion and a college sophomore. Fast forward a few years later and now my daughter is at Rowland. My daughter was new to the city and had a really hard time transitioning from a suburban area to a city area. When my daughter got herself into a situation at school, Mrs. Archie took my daughter under her wing, talked with her constantly about self-esteem and having confidence. My daughter is now a Junior with distinguished honors at Sci-Tech Academy. Here we go again with my youngest son. My son was hit by a car and suffered a severe concussion. Changed him a lot. His behaviors begin to change and he began to get in trouble in school. Mrs. Archie made sure that he had a 504 plan created, she guided me on what to do at home with him, she followed up with me regarding him. He is now a Freshman at Dauphin County Tech. I said all that to say this. It takes a village. Mrs. Archie has been fair, consistent and has made a huge impact on the lives of my children. I cannot allow the district to accuse her of being immoral nor can I allow the district to question her morals. OUR community NEEDS Mrs. Archie in these schools. What she is being accused of, is it worth losing a great member of YOUR team who has been there for OUR children for 25 years?

  • Join Mother's Day Rally to End Child Detention and Family Separation
One of the largest encampments of children who have been separated from their families, and are now held indefinitely in detention, is close to my home. I had the opportunity to remind them, across a field, and in their own language that: We Have Not Forgotten Them; That We in America Believe and Work for Human Rights; that they are not alone, because all our hearts are breaking with them. All Americans must stand for our democratic values and governance. Beyond politics this is a matter of Humanity -- there are no taking sides in front of injustice. We must stand together! Join your local chapter at MothersDayRally.com Thank you for your presence.

  • Tell District Attorney Elton Mathis: Re-Open Sandra Bland's Case
We will never forget the viral video of Sandra Bland's violent arrest in 2015. Many of us were struck with horror as we witnessed Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia, drag Sandra from her car and threaten to "light her up" because she refused to put out her cigarette. It was an unbelievable moment of unbridled hostility. And the officer who violently assaulted her was only charged with perjury for lying about the circumstances that led to Sandra's arrest--a charge that was later dropped in a deal that the DA never consulted Sandra's family on. This is not enough--rarely are police officers held accountable for their criminal behavior and we won't accept anything but justice for Sandra Bland. Now an uncovered self-recorded video of Sandra's arrest has sparked a new wave of outrage. The cell phone video allows us to visualize just a small part of how she experienced her own arrest. It's crucial information that proves what we already knew: Brian Encinia did way more than lie about Sandra's arrest, he assaulted a woman who posed no threat to him. We don't doubt that Sandra Bland died as a result of the white supremacy that runs rampant in the Waller County Police department. In 2015, Color Of Change members put their money together to hire private investigators in Waller County and they revealed a deeply corrupt bail system that rewarded the district attorney, judges, and sheriff. Elton Mathis, the same DA that blamed Sandra's death on her family's inability to make bail is still in office and we must hold him accountable. We are joining Sandra's family in demanding District Attorney Elton Mathis of Waller County, Texas take criminal charges against Brian Encinia back before the grand jury. Will you join us?

  • We deserve the truth -- let Mueller testify!
The very moment that Special Counsel Mueller wrapped up his 2-year investigation into Russian election interference and potential obstruction of justice -- which yielded 37 indictments and guilty pleas -- Donald Trump started falsely claiming that he was completely exonerated. He is wrong. And now, Trump’s trying to stop Mueller from publicly testifying before Congress and setting the record straight -- and claiming executive privilege over the report's findings in an effort to keep them from public view. Mueller found 10 potential episodes of obstruction of justice by Trump -- and left it to Congress to further investigate them. We need a full and thorough inquiry to determine exactly what happened -- and whether Trump abused the office of the presidency to cover for himself or his associates. Anything less is an affront to our democracy. We the People deserve transparency and accountability -- and it starts with hearing from Mueller himself. Trump and his cronies have repeatedly attempted to derail Mueller’s investigation and make sure his findings don’t see the light of day -- but together, we were able to stand in defense of the rule of law and ensure Mueller could complete his report. Now, it’s time for the American people to hear from Mueller in public testimony and uncover the whole truth -- whether Trump likes it or not. Add your name to tell Congress to hold public hearings and allow Robert Mueller to testify.

  • We must see President Trump’s tax returns
Earlier this week, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated that he wouldn’t turn over six years President Trump’s tax returns -- after House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal requested them about a month ago. Secretary Mnuchin’s actions continue a pattern of Trump administration officials protecting the President by ignoring the rule of law. This threat puts the very foundation of our democracy in danger. We deserve to know about the President’s background, experience, and business interests. Trump conducts the people’s business from the highest office in the land -- so we should be able to see how he has conducted his private business, too. Trump broke with decades of bipartisan precedent by refusing to release his tax returns during his presidential run (and refusing to place his assets in a blind trust after winning). Since then, evidence of how Trump and his family have personally profited from the presidency keeps piling up. If Congress lets Trump conceal his tax returns, Americans will remain completely in the dark about his potential conflicts of interest and ties (or whether he paid taxes at all). Transparency and accountability should not be partisan issues. Congress must use its power to obtain several years of Trump’s tax returns -- and shed light on the President’s financial dealings.

  • Make Sport Fees More Affordable
The fee for being in a sport is $300 per sport. This number quickly adds up and some students might not be able to join multiple or even one sport because of the expensive fees.

  • Remove the US President off of Twitter
Our country is heading into chaos and we need to stop the hate. If the President wants to say something, let him use his @POTUS account which he can then be accountable for come 2020. Allowing him to use a private Twitter account to hire and fire federal employees, and threaten foreign countries is unfair to Americans and creates confusion throughout the country.

  • # UBER TOO!
I have worked for Uber as a Driver Partner for over a year and cannot just stand by and be aware of how unsafe riding in an Uber can actually be for female Uber passenger at night. Also, Uber's dirty tactics that they are using against their drivers. At this very moment, Uber is involved in using Cambridge Analytica style psychological warfare on the users of its app and is able to do this through the use of misdirection in its ads and on its website.

  • Smaller Class Sizes in SUSD
We moved our family to the area so that our children could attend a strong public school in the Saugus Union School District. It is very disappointing that the board has approved a class increase of 28:1 in TK-3rd grade, and 31:1 in 4th-6th grades, and this is not a hard cap. Not only are the TK-3rd grade class sizes well above the state average of 22:1, but also there is virtually no classroom aide support for TK and Kindergarten, and absolutely no support in the other grades. With nearly 30 five and six-year-olds in a class, a teacher will struggle to provide the educational, social, and emotional support necessary to our children. The high class size also poses a safety concern, especially in the younger grades where the children are not yet self-sufficient. Smaller class sizes are known to correlate to student success. Our children's education should be the board's top priority, and this class increase is unacceptable.

  • LetsTalkPPCM And Demand A BNP Blood Test
Peri Partum cardiomyopathy (PPCM), also known as postpartum cardiomyopathy, is an uncommon form of heart failure that happens during the last month of pregnancy or up to five months after giving birth. Cardiomyopathy literally means heart muscle disease. Many women have died, after giving birth, or have to have heart transplants, and implantable devices put in, because they were not aware of PPCM or even knew they were at risk. PPCM can be detected in all race, and physicians are not aware who's all at risk, but if a BNP is done before a woman gives birth, she will know right away if she is developing the condition.
