Nurses are frontline healthcare workers, who are ethically-bound to advocate for their patients. When nursing units are short staffed, mortality, readmissions, and medical errors increase, which leads to compromised patient care, nurse fatigue, and burnout. Units at UCMC have been, and continue to be short staffed, sometimes to critical levels, although the Medical Center’s staffing plans are budgeted for more nurses. This is especially concerning as UCMC is Greater Cincinnati’s Level 1 Trauma Center. In order to meet patient demand, Registered Nurses (RNs) at UCMC are required to care for more patients and work extra so their units are not left critically under-staffed. RNs at UCMC are standing together, putting patients first and demanding the Medical Center materially incentivize staffing levels above critical, and reward nurses who work extra to ensure safe staffing levels. Stand with the RNs at UCMC, sign the petition, and let the Board of UC Health know the Medical Center should do the right thing, put patient’s first and staff the hospital. Many students, both local and not, are forced to find another university in a separate city to enroll for a Masters of Social Work program. The majority of our student population consist of non-traditional college students and do not have the luxury of moving to or finding a separate school for their Masters Degree.

I would like to find a way to prevent more accidents from happening in that intersection. I have been a personal victim of a T-bone accident at that intersection.

My older brother went to jail for some months and when he came home, he told us of his experience in there. He talked the most about how crowded it was. It was so crowded that there would be three, even four people to a cell when there were only two beds. He also told me about how he had gotten into a fight/ jumped because he was in a cell with people who disliked him. I want to prevent people from turning to violence due to overcrowding.

The City of New Brighton has proposed a ban on retail sales of all flavored e-liquids. They will be holding a public hearing, May 14, 2019, 6:30PM. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is once again abusing his power, siding with his corporate donors and obstructing what the vast majority of Americans want. His target? Net Neutrality. Earlier this month, the House of Representatives passed the Save the Internet Act with a bipartisan vote. It's a clean, simple bill that does just one thing: restores Net Neutrality nationwide to ensure a fair and open internet. Now, the bill is supposed to head to the Senate for an up-or-down vote, but McConnell won't even give it a fair shot. He's blocking any action, claiming it's "dead on arrival in the Senate" -- even though a bipartisan Senate majority voted last year to restore Net Neutrality. In our 21st century democracy, everyone needs access to the internet. But without Net Neutrality -- the baseline principle of equal treatment online -- huge companies like Verizon and Comcast can intentionally block, slow down, or charge money to allow access to specific websites and online content. And Big Cable companies know they have Mitch McConnell in their pocket. In the last election cycle, McConnell received $99K from Comcast, $66K from Verizon, and $49K from AT&T -- so it's no surprise that he'll use his position to do their bidding and kill this bill. We need a nationwide outcry in support of the Save the Internet Act. Add your name now and tell the Senate to give the bill a fair vote!

Nevada is one of the worst states when it comes to recycling! Over the years we continue to be substantially behind other states when it comes to our recycling progress and processes, we have yet to maintain our 25% recycling rate that was set back in 1991. We must take action now and implement methods like Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, to safeguard not only Nevada's future, but the Earth's as well.
