The annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk for Suicide Prevention at Jones Beach State Park is held every October and NYS charges thousands of dollars ($13,000+ in 2018) for parking fees to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We need them to waive the costs or give a huge discount for this charitable event that helps save lives.

Statues which publicly display bias of Black American slavery needs to be removed from our public squares, courtyards etc. These depictions continue to be the leading cause of prejudice, civil unrest, injustices, hate, violence, discrimination, bigotry, malice, anger and a sense of entitlement over others. Example the statue of an African / Negro woman and the European / Caucasian who was a "know adulterer" and who many believe raped, engaged in sexual intercourse and impregnated many female slaves whom he declared he freed. This individual would be Henry Ward Beecher of course.

We are Ronak and Meredith Sheth, and we recently purchased 501 Taylor Young. We're planning to build a new home on the site to live with our 15 month old daughter, Olivia. We currently live in Tower Grove South and are really excited to be part of the neighborhood. We had a chance to meet many of you at the annual meeting a couple weeks ago, which made us even more excited about joining the community. We're looking forward to meeting the rest of you soon. One of the challenges with our lot is the buildable area based on the current setbacks as calculated by Kirkwood. Being a corner lot, both Taylor Young and Rayner are considered front yards with really large setbacks (77ft and 65 ft). Our architect is requesting a variance to change the setbacks to 45ft. See attached diagram that shows the setback we are requesting in red and our proposed build within that area. The blue line is the current setback - you will notice it's tiny! For reference, the current buildable area would allow for a 1,400sf ranch, and with our request approved, we plan to build a 2,700sf ranch. We have created this online petition asking for support from our neighbors for this variance request. We have already submitted a letter from the trustees of the neighborhood association showing support but believe having more neighborhood support will be helpful. Please put your address in the comments section so it will show up on the petition. We are confirmed on the Kirkwood Board of Adjustments agenda for Monday, April 8th at 7pm. We do not feel that a COMMERCIAL business belongs within our residential neighborhood, nor do we want to see another business office blocking the view of the mountains. Keep new business within the area already being developed. Our area is growing at a fast pace and we do not need to add this sprawl into every open space between our homes. We love this area and the beautiful view is one of the many reasons we want to keep the neighborhood residential.

As a community member and a member of the online selling community, I and countless others have raised this issue to local Goodwill stores where we have been met without interest or response. Now I am asking for public support, when such a small act can make such a profound difference for generations to come.
