If we allow our seniors to lose their homes because they can no longer manage to pay property taxes, we may be creating a new underclass of people dependant on public services who could have managed to take care of themselves if they didn't lose their homes. I spend the entire year trying to keep up with bi-annual property taxes on a limited income of veterans' pension. This leaves us with no savings at all for any emergent need, even a minimal cost doctor's visit is seriously considered as to necessity. My husband is a service-connected veteran but not at 100%, so no tax relief for him. Please consider the elderly of our state and don't allow them to become homeless and an unnecessary burden to society due to property taxes.

I started this petition because Facebook was a willing channel for political misinformation campaigns traced back to the Russian Government that help undermine the 2016 US Presidential Election, and they are continuing with this manipulated video of Nancy Pelosi. Tell Facebook to stop hurting our country and take political misinformation off its site.

I propose that on the 4th of July, if you believe that Donald J. Trump has committed impeachable offenses and Congress has failed to act, you divert all income, not necessary for shelter or food, to protected holdings until such time as Congress has completed the impeachment process. In summary: We, the American people, will stop participating in the economy except as necessary to provide food and shelter for ourselves and our communities.

Erik was re-sentenced on May 21, 2019, from life without parole to life with the possibility of parole after 40 years; this would make Erik 57 years old. Erik's co-defendant (who has sworn testimony that Erik did not commit the crime) is eligible for parole in 2020. Let's get Erik the same commutation!

I am a concerned citizen that the legacy of President Obama is in jeopardy. I encourage you to continue to extend the legislation to preserve immigration rights as they arrive in the United States of America. I also have a concern that news of 6 dead children occurred while in the custody of the border patrol. Because The Dream and Promise Act, HR 6, is the most expansive bill introduced to protect immigrants. As an immigrant myself, I know first-hand what a bill like HR 6 would mean to good, hardworking immigrants, that are like myself: A friend, a co-worker, a high-school teammate, a college student, a mom, a daughter, a sister, PTA member, a church volunteer, valuable human being . It will provide status to 2 million immigrants under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) - all programs that require incredible national security scrutiny to qualify to be a part of them, yet were cruelly terminated by Trump. 86% of ALL Americans in all political parties want Dreamers to stay, and our POTUS is not listening to his constituents. Our Rep. Katie Porter needs to listen too. It is time to make our voice heard - we matter too!

As a person of color, as a woman, Harriet Tubman is the face of the America that risks life for others and stands up for what is right and good. Her story is our story. We, as a people, should have the courage to honor her in this way. She's a childhood hero of mine. I want to live in a country where children see Harriet Tubman's face on the $20 bill and know that's what it means to be an American.
