• Google Gives Money to Racist Candidates
If a U.S. Senate candidate for Mississippi is insensitive enough to disregard a personal comment about public hangings, then what else is this candidate capable of overlooking in a state with such a dreadful history of racial hatred and bigotry?

  • Supporting the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums
I feel that many zoos are viewed as evil for keeping animals in captivity. I want to show that not all zoos are like that. many zoos have breeding programs that help save species, research animals for science, and protect species that can't protect themselves. Since the AZA manages many of these Zoos I want to support them.

  • We want you to support Nancy Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi unselfishly lead the resistance teams providing guidance and action plans to support every candidate who won in the 2018 midterms. The #Bluewave members wholeheartedly appreciate her leadership, guidance, knowledge and fundraising savvy. Ms. Pelosi guided our actions on a grassroots level - texting, phone banking, door knocking postcards, tweeting responses to republican members of congress, and guided us in our #BlueWave win for 2018. We need the same as we ready for 2020.

  • Send troops on the border home IMMEDIATELY!
Donald Trump’s entire strategy during the 2018 midterm elections was to use immigrants to stir up fear and turn out his base. We called it the “divide and distract” strategy, and it failed. Republicans lost big time. Trump’s main target was the “migrant caravan”, a group of migrants moving north from central America, few of whom may ever make it to the United States. The migrants are peacefully looking for a way to escape the violence and poverty of their homes, but Trump falsely portrayed them as terrorists and criminals. To underscore his point, Trump sent more than 5,000 of our troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, even though they had nothing to do there. Our troops remain there even though — surprise, surprise — Trump has completely stopped talking about the migrant caravan after the election. Fox News went from 204 mentions of the caravan a week before the election, to a mere 16 mentions afterward. The migrant caravan has never been a national threat or emergency. That it was ever treated as such is a farce. Yet our troops continue to be stationed at the border for NO REASON than Trump’s twisted political games. Tell the White House: bring our troops home from the border NOW.

  • Budget Cuts
These budget cuts would drastically hinder the quality of our school system. The quality of education our children receive should be a priority for state officials.

  • Mandatory Recycling
Restaurants, bars, clubs, convenience and grocery stores have no mandatory recycling rule in place and no incentive to start. I want to call on everyone who knows and cares about this huge and very important issue to help make it mandatory for any establishment that sells glass bottles or plastic bottles to recycle them. If there is any interest in something like this, then incentives can be created for these places of business to participate and fines can be established and issued to those who do not comply. If a business is allowed to sell glass or plastic bottles, they MUST recycle both. Beach bars and restaurants are especially guilty of filling their dumpsters with glass and plastic bottles. Convenience and grocery stores are guilty of supplying the very bottles that litter our streets and fill our dumpsters. This practice must end now and reasonable incentives need to be put in place to make compliance something that is not resented by targeted business establishments.

  • House Republicans Must Expel Steve King From Their Conference
Congressman Steve King (R-IA) is openly pushing white nationalist policies and meeting with white nationalist politicians in Canada and Europe. In the weeks leading up to election day, Steve King traveled to Austria to be interviewed by Caroline Sommerfeld of the Austrian far-right propaganda site Unzensuriert (which means “uncensored” in English). Sommerfeld is a prominent leader in Europe’s neo-fascist identitarian movement. In his conversation with Sommerfeld, King discussed his belief in the superiority of white European culture over others and talked at length about his belief that Europe and America are threatened by Muslim and Latino immigration. And the conservative Weekly Standard reported on election night that King had referred to Mexican immigrants as "dirt." However, these are just the latest developments highlighting King's extremest agenda. For years, Republicans have allowed Steve King to use their party platform to promote an agenda of racism and xenophobia. The House Republican Conference can expel Steve King from their caucus with a 2/3 majority vote. While some Republicans have taken steps to denounce Steve King's racist rhetoric, a vote to expel him would show that they are serious about cutting ties with the white nationalist wing of their party. That's why House Republicans should immediately vote to expel Steve King.

  • Petition to Recognize Reflexology as a Complementary Therapy Separate from Massage and Other Hand...
BACKGROUND: Reflexologists in Texas, and national and state associations, have been active for over three decades to separate the Reflexology profession from massage. 33 U.S. states exempt Reflexology from the massage law and many countries worldwide recognize the difference between the two. Reflexology has 5 state laws of its own, and the National Institute of Health lists Reflexology as a separate discipline. In Texas, there is no reason why this separation should not be formally recognized NOW. You can assist this endeavor by signing this petition in support of Reflexology in Texas - whether you are a client or practitioner. You can also sign the petition if you do not live in Texas or the USA - the more voices heard, the better. Please share far and wide. Reflexology as a stand-alone profession is in the best interest of us all. THANK YOU!

  • Salesforce Pledge
Dear Mr. Benioff, In solidarity with the thousands of undocumented immigrants who live in fear for their lives everyday, we, students at Stanford, pledge to refrain from interviewing with Salesforce until it fully withdraws from its contract with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) to modernize its staff recruiting process, manage border activities, and engage with citizens. Your support for San Francisco’s homeless funding measure, Prop C, while helpful to the thousands of unhoused people in San Francisco, does not exculpate you from the harm your company continues to inflict on undocumented immigrants by hiring more Border Patrol agents. Advocacy organizations like Mijente and RAICES--led by and serving undocumented people--have explicitly and consistently asked you to cancel this contract and you have refused, citing that none of this technology enables the separation of families. Unfortunately, family separation has been a hallmark outcome of this deportation machine for years. You have prided yourself on “disrupting” social good in the tech world. Providing this software to CBP is not “disrupting” anyone’s world except those risking their lives to escape violence. What if instead of guns and your software, Border Patrol agents were armed with food and water for migrants making the trek to seek asylum? And what if instead of providing the software to CBP you opened an office in Honduras and employed people there? We are asking you to draw a line in the sand for the ethics of technology, where the racist head of our country cannot. Come to the right side of history and cancel the contract.
