At its interim meeting in Maryland this week, the AMA House of Delegates adopted a series of resolutions that call for restraint in implementing the CDC guideline – particularly as it applies to the agency’s maximum recommend dose of 90mg MME (morphine equivalent units). RESOLVED that our AMA affirms that some patients with acute or chronic pain can benefit from taking opioids at greater dosages than recommended by the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for chronic pain and that such care may be medically necessary and appropriate. RESOLVED that our AMA advocate against the misapplication of the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids by pharmacists, health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, legislatures, and governmental and private regulatory bodies in ways that prevent or limit access to opioid analgesia. RESOLVED that our AMA advocate that no entity should use MME thresholds as anything more than guidance, and physicians should not be subject to professional discipline, loss of board certification, loss of clinical privileges, criminal prosecution, civil liability, or other penalties or practice limitations solely for prescribing opioids at a quantitative level above the MME thresholds found in the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has completed a draft unit management plant for the Sundown Wild Forest & Vernooy Kill State Forest. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region 3 wants to do away with the target practice at Vernooy Kill State Forest and add a parking lot in the big field on Cutler Road and add a mountain bike trail. Timber Rattlesnakes visit this big field and they lay on the rocks in the summer time, Timber Rattlesnakes are listed on the New York State Threatened Species act. When they build this parking lot, they will be destroying their habitat, and the nearby bird habitat, by removing the trees and vegetation. When they build this mountain bike trail in Vernooy Kill State Forest, thousands of people will visit this area with their mountain bicycles and some will try block the road by riding in the middle of Lundy Road and the trails will be destroyed during storms. Many people will go online and spread all over message boards to people that they can ride their bikes in Vernooy Kill State Forest and then in 10 years the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation would have to update the unit management plan to create a free one day permit system like they did with Peekamoose Blue Hole. There will be more garbage along the streams, in the parking lot and on the trails. Department of Environmental Conservation says they want to get rid of target practice because they feel it is not safe in the Vernooy Kill State Forest, but they will still allow huntingThis does not make sense as people use firearms to hunt. People mostly come here to target practice not to ride their bikes. Jim Acosta is a CNN White House reporter. We believe his press pass was revoked not only for the incident last night, but because President Trump who referred to how the 'press' treats 'Sarah Huckabee' during his rallies and press conferences. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has attacked Mr. Acosta during afternoon press conferences upon multiple occasions. Ms. Sanders issued a lengthy lie-filled account on her Twitter feed last night and also released a doctored video from a right-wing conspiracy program. What this White House seems to ignore is written clearly in the First Amendment of the constitution. Jim Acosta is representing the American people by asking questions on our behalf.....questions this White House refuses to answer. The White House needs to remember they work for the American people. Trump is scared and desperate after Republicans lost the House. Trump knows his corruption will finally be exposed so he forced Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign. He then put Matthew Whittaker in charge of the Department of Justice in what seems like a clear effort to undermine the Mueller investigation. This is a moment of crisis for our nation and we need to be assured that Whitaker does not interfere as Trump clearly wants him to. That's why we're demanding Matthew Whitaker immediately recuse himself from any involvement in the Mueller investigation.

Donald Trump fired his Attorney General, and will likely attempt to replace him with someone who'll put loyalty to the White House over the duties of their office. And that could mean a premature end to Mueller’s investigation, with the full results never shared with the American people. The American people must demand that anyone who replaces Sessions atop the Department of Justice pledge their complete independence from Trump -- and promise to carry out the responsibilities of their office fairly and impartially.

In 2017 the State of California adopted Assembly Bill 949 making competitive cheerleading a sport, as a result, cheerleaders across the state are now governed by California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Athletes, coaches and parents are enthusiastic about the benefits that CIF can provide the sport of Traditional Competitive Cheer; however, there is one CIF bylaw that has a negative impact on many of the most elite cheer athletes. CIF's no Sunday play rule means that California cheer teams cannot compete in the Sunday Finals at the National High School Cheerleading Championships (NHSCC) in Orlando, Florida. The NHSCC is one of the few cheerleading competitions sponsored by the governing body of high school sports the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and is featured on ESPN. The no Sunday play rule prohibits the most elite high school cheerleading athletes from competing at the highest level of competition for their sport which directly impacts their potential college participation in this sport. Colleges have representatives present at the NHSCC at a recruitment combine which allows athletes to create contacts for potential scholarship opportunities. Athletes, coaches, and parents support the no Sunday play rule for all other contests; however, for teams who make it to the Finals for the NHSCC, their athletes gain national exposure to college coaches and recruiters. All other sports are given “National Rankings” through MaxPreps without actually having to compete in any national level games or competitions. Of the 51 states there are approximately 30 states represented at the NHSCC; therefore, it gives traditional competitive cheer the closest thing to a ranking system that is similar to Max Preps. In addition, the only high school championship that offers a world ranking is the NHSCC, where approximately 6 countries are represented; this World competition is on Sunday. In the last 5 years, multiple California teams who have made it to Sunday Finals, have received televised national exposure on ESPN creating positive publicity for the high schools they represent. It is for this reason that teams are asking for the waiver for just the NHSCC. California cheer teams would like to continue to represent their high school at the National Level by competing in the Sunday finals at the National High School Cheerleading Championships.

Assault rifles are weapons that have a potential to be deadly, and while they are expensive, they are the choice weapon of mass shooters as they do not have much recoil, making them easy for somebody under the age of 18 to fire. The purpose of this petition is to keep assault rifles out of the hands of people who should not have them, and prevent a shooting incident in New Jersey.

This petition was started due to the lack of the representation of Black Women as leaders in the news media. Black women are always guests, used to boost ratings. Black women are always used to save America when elections are going towards the most unscrupulous candidates. Black women have numerous advanced degrees, experiences, and talents that will help all viewers apply aspects from all Americans, in order to make personal decisions. However, this cannot be done if our narrative is being chronically controlled by others.
