  • Postpone SOTU Until AFTER the 2019 Appropriations Act is Passed
This President has shown total disregard for the lives of people affected by a Government Shutdown. He appears unaware of the safety threat the Trump Shutdown caused all Americans. He is simply using this tactic to appeal to his base and to distract from the Mueller Investigation. 58%* of Americans disapprove of spending Federal Tax Dollars taking private land and building a wall along the border. *https://pewrsr.ch/2Cnwhdz

  • Gov. Newsom, Test Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant for Safety
PG & E, the company that manages Diablo Canyon, cannot be depended on to protect the people of California. The company is facing bankruptcy resulting from massive Northern California fires and a fatal gas explosion. Please intervene to take charge of testing for safety at Diablo Canyon, a nuclear plant located on an active earthquake fault near San Luis Obispo, and assure the people of California the plant will not re-open if tests prove the nuclear plant is unsafe. In 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission warned that Diablo Unit One was among the five most embrittled reactors in the U.S. Because the internals of all atomic reactors are subjected to intense heat, pressure and radiation, critical metals can lose their resiliency and shatter, leading to catastrophe. Cracking of dry casks at other nuclear sites, including San Onofre, make essential a full evaluation of the management of nuclear waste at Diablo. Additionally, a dozen earthquake faults have been discovered near Diablo since Unit One was designed, raising questions as to whether the reactor would be able to withstand a serious earthquake. It's imperative we avoid a nuclear accident that could endanger the lives of California residents.

  • Congress: Don't fund Trump's deportation force and the wall
Do not give in to Trump's hateful, anti-immigrant agenda. Tell Congress to refuse funding for Trump’s border wall and deportation force in any continuing negotiations. On January 25th, the longest Government shutdown in history came to a conclusion after 35 days. The deal that reopened the government formed a committee of Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate to come up with a deal that Trump will be content with. Trump is still demanding 5.7 billion dollars from taxpayers to pay for his border wall and to grow his Deportation Force, despite losing over 30 seats in the House of Representatives as a clear rejection of his policies. That’s why we are asking you to help stop this! In the next week, the committee tasked to come up with a compromise deal needs to hear directly from the public that we reject Trump’s mass deportation agenda and his racist wall. Add your name to hold Congress accountable. Congress should remain focused on funding priorities like education and healthcare and not play into Trump’s demands. Our demand is that they keep the government open and under no circumstance give him any more money to fund more detentions, more deportations, and policies that put more people at risk of deportations and being separated from their families!

  • The Shutdown Must End..Now and Forever
Our government, for the people and by the people, does not belong to any political party. The workers who support the process of government services are not pawns; but real, dedicated American people with real lives. Their welfare should never be put in jeopardy for the gain of a few, or for any political purpose. We see that the President, now with the support of Speaker Mitch McConnell, has taken our federal workers hostage. There is no way that this can end without surrender by the President and McConnell because there is never a reason to negotiate with hostage takers. End this shutdown now! Make such an action impossible from now on! We the People will not tolerate this abuse. Our response will grow stronger every day you continue to hold our people hostage.
