Support downtown cannabis zoning in HaverhillHaverhill residents voted overwhelmingly for legalization in 2016. The mayor and the city council should show leadership by enacting downtown zoning for the same fairness provided to liquor stores, bars, and restaurants.185 of 200 SignaturesCreated by James Borghesani

Return the Remains of Jamal Khashoggi to His FamilyThe Saudi government admits that Jamal Khashoggi was murdered in its consulate in Istanbul, Turkey by its own agents but has yet to offer any official indications about the fate of his body. So added to the terrible grief felt by the family over the murder is their humiliation as they cannot even offer a proper burial for their loved one. Khashoggi’s family is not alone in this suffering. At the start of 2016, Sheikh Nimr al Nimr was executed and his body never given to his family for burial. In fact, this cruel practice of not returning a body of an executed prisoner or of someone killed in a police raid is estimated to have taken place over 30 times in the last two years. It is brutal and immoral and should stop. The U.S. government which counts the Saudi monarchy as a close ally must pressure the Saudi government to release the body of Khashoggi. He was a resident of the United States and a journalist for one of the U.S.’ most famous newspapers. Certainly, our government which sells the Saudis so many weapons and supports its war in Yemen has enormous influence over the kingdom and can demand this act of decency.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stanley Heller

CNOM's (Concerned Neighbors of Matteson), Petition Drive for Matteson's New Restaurants and Busin...CNOM, (Concerned Neighbors of Matteson), has launched our MoveOn.Org Petition Drive to build in the Village of Matteson New Restaurants, Businesses, and Companies. This can and will help address and bring the much needed Economic Development across our 6 Business Districts; and in the South Suburban Corridor. CNOM started this Petition because we believe, "You," our Neighbors deserve a broader variety of Resturants, Businesses and Companies in the Village of Matteson, the South Suburban Corridor. "Every Sunday" there are over 10,000-12000, if not more, family and church members driving to Church through the Matteson Corridors, off Route I-57, between Vollmer Road and Lincoln Highway. And there are over 20,000-25,000 vehicles passing through our Village daily. However, Aldi's is the only grocery Store, and there are to few Restaurants, Businesses, and Companies. Thus, Matteson is losing hundreds of thousands to millions of our dollars Sales Tax Revenues. These millions of Sales Tax dollars leave Matteson and are supporting the general fund accounts in Neighboring Villages. This is unacceptable. The University of Chicago, major news media outlets, and other data reports document the patterns of historical racially motivated unfair taxation on businesses and homes by the Cook County Tax Assessors Office contribute to the Redlining by white investors, developers and major companies in Matteson and other predominately African American Villages and Neighborhoods. Mattesonian's annual median income ranges from: $80,639 or $546,822,263, (1/2 billion dollars) and upward to and beyond $661,700,000, (close to 3/4 of a Billion Dollars.) Yet, not one major full grocery store. Furthermore, over the past 20 years, Matteson has generated over $14 Billion dollars in Sales Tax Revenues. That is equivalent to sales of $700 million, and results in $7 million of sales tax revenues allocated to Matteson's Annual Budget. Also, based on the 2018-2019 Budgets in 4 of Matteson's Neighboring Villages: Richton Park, Flossmoor, Olympia Fields, and Homewood; these five Villages will generate $13.2 Million dollars. This represents 1% of sales. Thus, these 5 Villages m will spend $1.3 Billion ($1,320,000,000 dollars). Yet, "Aldi's is the only Grocery Store in Matteson. There are very few retail stores, businesses, restaurants, companies, and limited employment opportunities. Concerned Neighbors and Consumers; "Our Goal, with Your Support, is to get 8,000-10,000 Signatures." This will clearly demonstrate and send a strong message to Businesses, Major Corporations, Investors and Developers. We encourage and invite bankers, brokers, major businesses, entrepreneurs, and all stakeholders to Reinvest and Invest in Matteson. CNOM, knows that the dollar value of Matteson's incomes and with the combined spending power from Neighboring Villages will also support the expansion of stores listed in our Petition and for future Economic Development. There is a tremendous need for Grocery Stores, Retail and Whole Sale Stores, Businesses and Business Offices, Specialized Medical Care Offices and Facilities, Hi-Tech Companies, Manufacturers, E-Commerce Outlets and Delivery Outpost and Companies willing to partner with our Educational Systems to Prepare our Students as Future Leaders and Investors. Tell Congress: Cut funding to ICE and CBPThe Trump Administration is seeking billions of dollars for the southern border wall, border technology, and more agents. Each of these asks is unacceptable. The wall is a hateful symbol of exclusion, and coupled with increased technology, will further militarize and surveil border communities. CBP agents and officers are at the front lines of Trump’s aggressive family separation policy and operate with little to no accountability for the abuses and terror that they inflict upon those arriving to our border and those that live in border communities. ICE detains hundreds of thousands of immigrants behind bars every year. This oppressive, inhumane and deadly system of detention continues to grow bigger, less transparent and less accountable. ICE continues to overspend their appropriated funds while counting on bailouts from Congress. All the while they are expanding detention and becoming increasingly secretive about their work. Hunger strikes, reports of physical and sexual abuse, and retaliation against those that speak out highlight the worsening conditions and opposition to treating immigrants with dignity. CBP and ICE have shown that more funding leads to more harm. Increasing funding to either of these agencies is unworthy of discussion. We demand that you stop the growth of the harmful detention and deportation machine and support significant cuts to ICE and CBP.352 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Mary Small

Chronic pain sufferers have no voice. This is a human rights violation. Please listen president T...Let's keep this going. Really share it up on Facebook and twitter. I will be sending this to the president with some other info. If nothing else he does read the petitions that come to him. At least he will hear the other side. Up to this point the president has had to go on the STATICS from the CDC. Let us info him about the other side. As pain sufferers, DOCTORS, caregivers and more, do your part to help us change the minds of those who are not first hand witnesses to the pain we face and the loss of lives due to the lack of treatment. Thank you. If you don't want to sign at least read what the AMA house of delegates have said. Finally siding with us. As chronic pain sufferers, we have had no voice even before the CDC guidelines. We have been ignored and abused. We have not been given the chance to tell our stories, the truth. Doctors are afraid to treat us and pharmacies turn us away. We have become the casualties of the war on drugs. We are asking that President Trump gives this petition direct attention and takes it seriously. We are good citizens of the United States of America and wish to live productive lives in this great nation. Update: 11/16/18 https://www.ama-assn.org/sites/default/files/media-browser/public/hod/i18-refcomm-b-annotated.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0fZa0zzrZmDHLNb-7iYh-f-vbqqN43P2VXsNGYbP6w5mdXY4hflbdAQWE Two and a half years after the release of the CDC’s opioid prescribing guideline, the American Medical Association has finally taken a stand against the “misapplication” and “inappropriate use” of the guideline by insurers, pharmacists, federal regulators and state governments. At its interim meeting in Maryland this week, the AMA House of Delegates adopted a series of resolutions that call for restraint in implementing the CDC guideline – particularly as it applies to the agency’s maximum recommend dose of 90mg MME (morphine equivalent units). RESOLVED that our AMA affirms that some patients with acute or chronic pain can benefit from taking opioids at greater dosages than recommended by the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids for chronic pain and that such care may be medically necessary and appropriate. RESOLVED that our AMA advocate against the misapplication of the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids by pharmacists, health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, legislatures, and governmental and private regulatory bodies in ways that prevent or limit access to opioid analgesia. RESOLVED that our AMA advocate that no entity should use MME thresholds as anything more than guidance, and physicians should not be subject to professional discipline, loss of board certification, loss of clinical privileges, criminal prosecution, civil liability, or other penalties or practice limitations solely for prescribing opioids at a quantitative level above the MME thresholds found in the CDC Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids. LET'S KEEP THIS GOING AND SEND IT TO THE PRESIDENT.660 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Anita Spero

Protect Video Gaming In IllinoisIllinois Video Gaming is one of the most advanced, entertaining and successful industries of its kind in the entire country. WE STRONGLY URGE THAT THE CURRENT LAWS AND RULES STAY THE SAME. Over the last three years, it has generated double-digit INCREASES in TAX receipts for STATE and LOCAL GOVERNMENT. The main reason for its unprecedented success is currently being threatened in the State Capitol. We call upon the Governor and the leaders in the State Legislature to form a task force to fully evaluate any proposed changes that would disrupt this burgeoning industry and leading funding source to the Illinois Capital Projects Fund -- the source dedicated to adequately funding the repair and reconstruction of the state’s crumbling roads, bridges and schools. The task force should be comprised of interested stakeholders, should hold hearings throughout the State, should solicit input from the public, and should publicize its findings widely. Protect Timber rattlesnake at Vernooy Kill State ForestThe New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has completed a draft unit management plant for the Sundown Wild Forest & Vernooy Kill State Forest. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region 3 wants to do away with the target practice at Vernooy Kill State Forest and add a parking lot in the big field on Cutler Road and add a mountain bike trail. Timber Rattlesnakes visit this big field and they lay on the rocks in the summer time, Timber Rattlesnakes are listed on the New York State Threatened Species act. When they build this parking lot, they will be destroying their habitat, and the nearby bird habitat, by removing the trees and vegetation. When they build this mountain bike trail in Vernooy Kill State Forest, thousands of people will visit this area with their mountain bicycles and some will try block the road by riding in the middle of Lundy Road and the trails will be destroyed during storms. Many people will go online and spread all over message boards to people that they can ride their bikes in Vernooy Kill State Forest and then in 10 years the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation would have to update the unit management plan to create a free one day permit system like they did with Peekamoose Blue Hole. There will be more garbage along the streams, in the parking lot and on the trails. Department of Environmental Conservation says they want to get rid of target practice because they feel it is not safe in the Vernooy Kill State Forest, but they will still allow huntingThis does not make sense as people use firearms to hunt. People mostly come here to target practice not to ride their bikes. Please help protect the Timber Rattlesnakes’ habitat, protect the streams and continue the target practice in Vernooy Kill State Forest by signing this petition. After you sign this petition please go back to this page and write your comment below under reasons for signing you can write anything you like but please do not write any threatening messages, all the comments and signatures are sent to the NYSDEC inbox, Town officials and authorities after someone signs the petition. You can submit written comments, and they will also be accepted on the draft plan until November 13, 2018. Tulsi Gabbard for Speaker of HouseProgressive Democrats have expressed a clear preference for Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard to be the Speaker of the House. Whereas National exit polls show that over half of Americans who voted Tuesday hold an unfavorable view of Pelosi, newly elected House members said they would vote against Pelosi in favor of a progressive Democrat. WE THE PEOPLE believe that Rep Tulsi Gabbard by virtue of her strong leadership is the clear choice for our new FDR progressive Democratic Party384 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Michael Rushnak
