The Des Moines Register says "In his almost 16 years in Congress, (Steve) King has passed exactly one bill as primary sponsor, redesignating a post office. He won't debate his opponent and rarely holds public town halls. Instead, he spends his time meeting with fascist leaders in Europe and retweeting neo-Nazis." Iowa needs to do better than this.

1. No tenure no pension. Members of Congress only are paid while serving. 2. Congress participates in Social Security. All funds in the congressional retirement fund be transferred to the Social Security system. All future retirement funds flow into the social security system and congress participates with all other citizens. Social Security may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement and health plans until we are all covered by the same plan. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. It will be tied to CPI, SS, and minimum wage. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the rest of the citizens of our country. 6. Congress must abide by the same laws as the rest of the citizens. 7. All contracts with past and present congressional representatives will become void on 12/31/19.

So many of us have been deleted from West Hills for speaking out critically about issues. WHNC should not be used as a bully tool to silence critics. Every part of the EmpowerLA process is corrupt and held for power instead of for the benefit of the people. With the financial waste, you could help solve the homeless problem instead of providing a place for bored real estate people to protect their investments over the welfare of the people and we have had enough. Do what is right and CLEAN HOUSE at the WHNC.

Having just recently gone thru Hurricane Michael and not being able to get gas for generators and such because service stations had no power this is an issue every time we have a power outage. Many if not all of these stations have the gas they just can't run their pumps do to lack of power. By having backup generators lines out the streets and tempers are greatly reduced.

This is a non-partisan issue to redistribute the power to determine the Refugee Admissions Ceiling in the United States. As of July 19, 2018 there are 68.5 million forcibly displaced people around the globe, 25.4 million of which are refugees and 3.1 million of which are asylum-seekers. Ever since the Refugee Act of 1980, the Executive Branch has been required to set a limit on the number of refugees admitted into the country, however, with out any checks from either the Legislative or Judicial branch, the Executive Branch has an imbalance of power in determining this limit. This coming year, as refugee rates are growing, an unprecedentedly low 30,000 person limit has been proposed--34,000 people less than the average limit over the last 5 years. We must redistribute this power to create a more balanced process by which the Refugee Admissions Ceiling is determined.

I live on Holly Knoll Drive, around the corner. I watch people speeding on Tracy Street all the time and wonder when the fatal accident of a high school student will occur. Let's not wait until that happens to take action.

I recently tried to get into public housing and was denied due to the fact that over twenty years ago I had a pattern ( I quote) of criminal behaviour and therefore am denied to live in a housing apartment complex that is for people disabled and with a low income of which I am in both of those catagories. Plus I am 50 years old and a grand mother of 2. So am I suppose to reside in the streets and be homeless or start committing other crimes to supplement my disability income in my shape not sure what kind of a crime I can commit these days. I can't walk with out some type of assistance. With that being said I thought it was kind of a ridiculous reason for denying housing that I can afford and desperately am in need of however now I don't qualify. Something must change this should be considered discrimination of some sorts. I am sure others have been denied for the same reason which in turn created a purpose for someone to return to criminal behaviour due to the fact that they were desperate and need shelter somewhere.

I’'m starting this petition because it has been a big deal in the states prisons of things going on within the walls that are highly illegal and to minimize this there will be less riots, less fabrication on tickets written, and most importantly it will protect the officers and the prisoners alike. It's long overdue and a necessary tool in corrections. "BODY CAMERAS"... From an inmates point of view and having 22 years of exposure to the corruption within the system; it's not a matter of want....it's mandatory that body cameras are placed on any employee that enters the secured grounds of an institution; having contact with inmates. Where do you think majority of narcotics/contraband comes from??? I assure you that an inmate visit or mail is not the introduction point... Sure,small amounts may come through visits and mail. However, once again body cameras will insure accountability... Obviously the employee('s) is not properly doing their job if man hours and many millions of tax dollars have been spent on surveillance, simply for the officer to watch a prisoner on visit;yet they too neglect their post... Body cameras will keep every officer in check... Countless man hours have been used at tax payers expense to conduct investigations in the Dept. With body cameras,it will be a simple review of footage...and with such option,I assure you from a criminal mind;the body camera will detour an officer from wrongdoing... Professional conduct will be held at an all time high;as that should be the case all along... Taxpayers, your tax dollars are at risk even more if YOU continue to allow the correction system abuse your pockets with meaningless flops of prisoners for misconducts that were fabricated by an unprofessional officer. Don't take my word on this...Simply push for body cameras in corrections and watch at least: 2/3 of serious misconducts( e.g. Threatening behavior, sexual misconduct, weapon,assault,etc.) suddenly drop... The numbers speak for itself... Your civic duty is to support all that is good for your community and state. How can body cameras in the Michigan Department of Corrections be a bad thing??? Do they have a greater expectation to privacy than officers in society,whom wear them? NO,they don't... Please,push the body camera issue ,to your state representative. Let's make a stand for accountability.

I know a family who has personally been affected by this. And many other families who are not aware of what has happened to their preschool and older children in these state run schools. The terror that these children feel when locked in a small space, screaming and begging to be let out, has left a long-lasting trauma that will be difficult to overcome. in their lives, they will feel fear of small spaces, people of authority, and generally fear of people and institutions. How can the Board of Education let these people continue to abuse our young, impressionable children in this way? Schools are supposed to be a safe haven, teachers are supposed to use their education and knowledge of children to provide them with the best education available. Not to abuse children who are too young to understand how their behaviors may be harmful to others. Not to lock these troubled children in bathrooms and other small spaces because, as teachers, they don't want the hassle of taking care of our most vulnerable and difficult children. Stand up to bullies in our school system that perpetuate this abuse, those that call out children in front of their peers, those that cannot handle the stresses of being a teacher, or that just don't care about our children and their futures. Bullying and abuse are not acceptable from our children, and they are punished for bullying. Why, then, are the teachers and school administrators not punished for violating that rule?

Steve King is a bigot. Has had a Confederate flag on his desk and often retweets Klansmen and other racists who don't represent the values of northwest Iowa., and the owners of Wells Blue Bunny ice cream keep dominating to Steve King which tells me the Wells' are content with King's bigotry and racism. Tell the Wells to stop supporting bigotry.

We need our President and elected officials to not only hear our voices but take action by changing existing laws and enacting new laws to benefit the people who need it to maintain their quality of life physically and mentally. Cannabis helped me win my battle with opioid addiction and I've spoken with many average people like me who are benefiting from legal medical cannabis but there are thousands more who can benefit but don't because of existing laws. Our veterans, our elderly and our children will reap the benefits of legalization of medical marijuana.

I believe parents have a right to be informed about all possible sideeffects and ingredients in vaccines before a child is injected. A concent form/disclosure should be available listing all ingredients and side effects for each individual vaccine that is administered to a child at a well care visit.
