• Proclamation of Support for Truth and Reconciliation in Washington State
In Recognition of Indigenous People’s Day on October 8, 2018 and Native American Month in November, 2018 Proclamation of Support for Truth and Reconciliation in Washington State There is an emerging and compelling desire to acknowledge the events of the past so that we can work towards a stronger and healthier future. At this time my vote isn’t anti-Trump, it’s anti-Republican party. The states are our buffer against a party that is giddy with control, repressive to women and mean in spirit and detrimental to our environment. This is not a time to dampen that buffer between a federal government gone amok with power.

  • Gavin Newsom: Meet EUHC4CA about The Single Payer Planning Commission
Enact Universal Healthcare for California is a non-profit with over 115,000 Californian supporters. It sponsored The Single Payer Planning Commission which was signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown in June. If elected as next governor of California, Gavin Newsom will have three appointments. EUHC4CA has been asking for a meeting since August. It is now October. The Commission starts January 1st. We are asking for at least a 15 minute meeting, anytime & anywhere. We already had meetings with Senate President Pro-Tem Toni Atkins' and Speaker Anthony Rendon's offices who have one appointment each to the Commission. Unfortunately, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom's office has been stonewalling EUHC4CA. Derision, laughter, hangups, deleted emails, refusal to take notes, bogus email addresses, fake names (2 Samanthas and 3 Mollys so far), and general amnesia. Gavin says he is for Single Payer, but his staff does not share the same vision. With this petition, we hope that Gavin Newsom will finally meet with us about this very important commission, and counsel his staff on how to be more professional and treat people with respect. If you sign this petition, please also call Gavin Newsom at 916-445-8994. Thank you for your support! Enact Universal Healthcare for California www.euhc4ca.org [email protected]

  • Legalize Medical Cannabis
There are millions in our country who survive every moment in excruciating pain. Their doctors are taking their only source of treatment, their opioid medications. Cannabis has been a medicinal plant for centuries, and is only made illegal because of lack of profit to the big pharma companies. Every man and woman deserve the right to treat their pain the way they see fit. Cannabis should have never been made illegal. Legalize medical cannabis.

  • STOP! Trophy Hunting-Leaders Protect Our Animals
According to the Humane Society Legislative Fund "Rep. Marsha Blackburn has repeatedly supported legislation that enables cruelty to animals. She blocked efforts to strengthen the federal law against the cruel practice of “soring” Tennessee Walking show horses—using caustic chemicals and other painful substances to injure the horses’ hooves and legs, thereby inducing a high-stepping gait. She supported an amendment to H.R. 3354 that allows hunters to kill defenseless hibernating mother bears and cubs in Alaska for sport alone. Blackburn also failed to support common sense measures to crack down on puppy mills, protect horses from slaughter for human consumption overseas, or protect women and pets from domestic violence. "

  • Save Tortilla Flats
Tortilla Flats has been a downtown NYC staple for nearly 40 years. This little taste of Tijuana in lower meatpacking district has been a confidante to thousands who have passed through its doors over the past 4 decades. It has brought strangers together during the infamous birthday PBR tall boy chug, added the spice we needed to our midweeks by never failing to host Bingo each and every Tuesday night AND LEST NOT FORGET that they have the best quesadilla grande that the east coast has to offer. (THAT IS FACT AND NOT OPINION.) In a world where we are barricaded by Starbucks and snobby wine bars (who are afraid to admit that they too prefer fermented grapes by tha box), we have to preserve the one place that has held true to themselves...and served as a refuge for us to hold true to our own persons as well.
