On February 28, 2017, Fishers, Noblesville, and Hamilton County announced their surprise decision to convert the Historic Nickel Plate railroad to a trail. This decision came without public input, involvement, or oversight and will be detrimental to the future economic development potential of a corridor that is capable of hosting both rails AND trails. Since that time, more than 11,000 citizens have demanded better government process to explain the project, consider alternatives, and invite the public to participate in a meaningful way. ELECTED OFFICIALS HAVE PRESSED FORWARD WITH NO INDICATION OF LISTENING TO A MAJORITY OF THEIR RESIDENTS. Ongoing repression in Palestine conducted by the Israeli Defense Forces, is supported by the US government to the tune of millions of dollars a day. Ten million is the figure I find most often. These soldiers, under orders, have targeted unarmed civilians, killing 172 of them outright but intentionally maiming and crippling thousands of others as a sadistic entirely unwarranted act of brutality. No strong denouncement of this brazen terrorism comes from the halls of Congress or from the Oval Office. Rather...the money continues to flow. We demand that our leaders stop supporting the genocide of the Palestinian people, that they denounce these clear crimes against humanity and that they take action in support of a free Palestine.

Clouds of dirt and dust that contain dangerous chemicals and contaminants including, mold, fungus, pollen, herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, volatile compounds, toxic metals, insect eggs, and animal feces are propelled into the air by leaf blowers. These tiny toxic particles get into our lungs and have no way of getting out and can cause health problems such as lung cancer, heart disease, strokes, asthma, and other respiratory illnesses.

The Fish and Wildlife Service's 2014 decision to phase out the use of bee-killing neonic pesticides was a critical step in helping protect bees and other pollinators that are essential to our food system. Now, it is trying to undo that phase-out. The Fish and Wildlife Service should be strengthening our regulations, not weakening them to make it easier for wildlife to be exposed to toxic pesticides. Section 401 of the Clean Water Act allows individual states to set their own water quality standards. It also lets states withhold permitting from federally approved infrastructure projects if they fail to meet the state’s standards. This provision is an important tool to stop polluting projects like hydroelectric dams, export terminals, and natural gas pipelines. The Clean Water Act is one of our most important -- and popular -- environmental protections. Together, we can stop the House from gutting it. But we need you to speak up now.

Factory farming pollutes water and contributes to climate chaos. Pesticides poison people and are leading to the decline of bees and monarch butterflies.
