• Get Early Voting On University of Miami's Campus
When it comes to voting, partisan politics should not matter. University of Miami students and faculty should be able to vote at a convenient location on campus. Other universities across the state will have early voting on their campuses, don't let us be left out. We are asking Mayor Gimenez, Miami-Dade election officials, and UM to work together to let our community vote on campus.

  • Tell your Representative to stop Big Oil from destroying the Arctic!
Earlier this year, Trump took steps to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to Big Oil. This would cause irreversible damage to the ecosystem and would devastate the Gwich’in people’s way of life. Now, Republicans in Congress want to further incentivize drilling -- by increasing the revenue given to private corporations. Even worse, they’re trying to sneak this giveaway to Big Oil through the budget process, without public hearings or Congressional debate. We need your help to stop them!

  • Help send 50,000 signatures to the Department of the Interior opposing the rollback of the methan...
The Department of the Interior’s restrictions on methane pollution were a common-sense effort to protect our environment and our communities. But Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has chosen to steamroll our health and environment by gutting the rule. Even worse, this rollback comes days after the Trump Administration took aim at the Environmental Protection Agency’s methane rules. This is an all-out assault on protections from this destructive greenhouse gas. We need your help to speak out against this destructive agenda!

  • Dear Sen. Kevin de Leon: Please Speak Up For Khan al-Ahmar
Dear Senator Kevin de Leon, On September 5, 2018, the Israeli High Court of Justice rejected petitions from residents of the Palestinian Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar, effectively approving the imminent Israeli military-led eviction and demolition of the village at any point after September 12, 2018. This comes after the passage of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016) which condemned "all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, including, inter alia, the construction and expansion of settlements, transfer of Israeli settlers, confiscation of land, demolition of homes and displacement of Palestinian civilians, in violation of international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions." On September 16, 2018, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov stated: "I am concerned at the intention of the Israeli authorities to demolish the Bedouin village of Khan Al-Ahmar/Abu Al-Helu, a community of 181 people, over half of which are children. I call on the authorities not to proceed with the demolition and to cease efforts to relocate Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank. Such actions are contrary to international law and could undermine the chances for the establishment of a viable, contiguous Palestinian state.” As someone who may potentially represent California — the nation’s most populous state — in the United States Senate, we feel it is important that your voice be present in the conversations around Khan al-Ahmar and the potential violations of international law if the demolition is allowed to go through. We ask that you please join your opponent, Senator Dianne Feinstein (issued the following tweet on September 13, 2018: "Israel must not demolish the Palestinian community of Khan al Ahmar. The only reason to destroy this community is to expand nearby Israeli settlements and split the West Bank in half. The potential for peace depends on what happens to Khan al Ahmar."), in issuing a statement condemning the destruction of Palestinian villages (including Khan al-Ahmar) and the expansion of illegal Israel settlements in the West Bank. We also ask that you would please communicate said statement to the United States Department of State and the Israeli Embassy to the United States. Let's stand together for human rights!

  • True opt-out option for smart meters in Illinois
All wireless devices, including cell phones, are voluntary and can be turned off when not in use. Smart meters are mandatory and are on 24/7 all the time. When it comes to health-related risks we should have options. Also, Smart Meters measure electricity usage in your home using a transmitting, wireless computer. Posing as a 'smart' and helpful device, it collects data of your family's daily habits and activities. This information is permanently stored as Big Data. By definition a surveillance device, the Smart Meter violates Federal and State wiretapping laws by recording and storing Big Data of private personal activities and behaviors without direct consent or knowledge. Big Utilities promise to keep this data safe and secure. The only secure data is data never collected. We the people of Illinois ( the people who voted you into office) ask that you please address the issue and resolve it in our favor!

  • Demand a thorough FBI investigation the Kavanaugh allegations before there is a hearing .
Enough is enough. This country is in deep trouble given the behavior of this Congress, which borders on being traitorous. Follow the rules. Follow procedure. Conduct a real confirmation hearing, not fake, self-serving political farce.

  • Prosecute those that willfully left animals to die during Hurricane Florence
There is no place in a civilized country where this should be acceptable, condoned or even accepted. Laws need to be introduced to protect those that need it most. Ghandi said and I quote; " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress, can be judged by the way its animals are treated". We have failed as humans, failed as a nation and failed to protect our animals. The time for change is now

  • Governor Brown: Ban Fur in California
Los Angeles just banned fur! West Hollywood, Berkeley, and San Francisco have done the same. The people of California know that fur is not fashion, and we are ready for a change. Let's take this fur ban to the whole state of California to spare millions of animals -- like foxes, rabbits, and even dogs --from brutal deaths.

  • Help fix our road
Due to flooding in May 2018 our home at Creekridge Drive Eden suffered approximately $30,000 .00 worth of damage as the entire downstairs, garage, yard, and possessions were ruined. We came home from work to an astronomical amount of flooding which could have been avoided if the drainage pipe at Walter Chambers Road was cleaned out as well as the drainage pipe at Creekridge and the creek were monitored, cleared, and large enough to hold the amount of water . Despite efforts to contact the City of Eden with no effort made by the city to address the issue or help with damages we have taken it upon ourselves to monitor the creek, ensure the drainage pipe is clear at Walter Chambers and Creekridge in efforts to prevent future flooding.

  • Texas State Board of Education: Do not eliminate Helen Keller & Hillary Clinton from the history ...
The Texas School Board of Education recently voted to eliminate historical figures Helen Keller and Hillary Clinton from the required history curriculum.. In reality, it could be erasing contributions groundbreaking women have had in our nation. In addition to her many years of public service, Clinton was the first woman to be the nominee for President of a major political party. That is important history. And Hellen Keller was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a pioneer in the disability rights movement. USA Today reports the Republican-dominated board's decision could affect over 5 million public school students. I hope others here with me in Texas and all concerned individuals from across the nation will sign and share this petition.
