• Investigate the Trump Administration
The American people expect and deserve the highest level of accountability from their public officials -- especially the President of the United States. That's why the recent New York Times op-ed written anonymously by a senior staff member of the Trump administration is so alarming. The piece claims that the President demonstrates “erratic behavior,” “impulsiveness,” and “instability” -- and that to mitigate the effects of his recklessness, unelected officials are secretly working behind Trump's back to hinder his agenda. If Trump’s unappointed advisors are in effect running the nation, as the New York Times op-ed alleges, we must conduct a full investigation and get accountability. Our constitution has mechanisms to remove a president who is unable to fulfill the oath of office -- and unelected anonymous people making executive decisions is not sustainable. These allegations could threaten our national security, undermine our credibility, and cause significant harm to many Americans and people around the globe. Not only do they paint the President as incapable of fulfilling the oath of office -- but they also suggest that an unidentifiable network of staffers is making big decisions for our nation without any systems of accountability. Congress must live up to its oversight responsibilities and immediately investigate the claims made by the anonymous official.

  • Stop the T-Mobile / Sprint merger!
T-Mobile & Sprint are pushing a $26 billion merger that would combine the third and fourth largest wireless carriers in the country. That’d mean less competition, higher prices, and fewer options for wireless customers -- particularly for low-income and other marginalized communities that rely on affordable wireless service. Simply put: if this deal goes through – we all lose. A marketplace where Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile call the shots means fewer choices, higher prices, and a wider digital divide. Our democracy depends on all Americans having the tools they need to communicate with each other and fully participate in a 21st century society.

  • Stop President from taking money from FEMA and giving it to ICE
The absolute dichotomy of children being ripped from their parents being more important than saving people's lives is deplorable.

  • Don't Mess With Our Vote (Florida)
Today, in this historic momen,t we must show politicians and elected officials our collective power. Together we are putting them on notice; that we will not allow the coordinated attacks on our voting rights to continue. We oppose efforts to cheat the system and suppress our votes, such as limiting voting registration, the purging of millions of eligible voters, and the inadequate response to election security. These attacks disproportionately silence the voices of black, brown, working-class, and under-served communities. This will not be tolerated. This November, largely as a result of these voter suppression efforts, it is predicted that more than 26 million young people, women, and people of color will not turn out to vote. We need these 26 million voices to be heard. We need ALL of our voices to be heard. Let’s prove them wrong. We will be collecting signatures on this petition until September 30th. In October the signatures will be delivered to Governor Rick Scott, Secretary of State Ken Detzner, and Florida Election Officials.

  • Safe Neighborhoods, help homeless, San Fernando Valley
The number of Homeless people on the streets of Los Angeles has gone down in the last year, but have increased in the San Fernando Valley (https://bit.ly/2N5rVA2). This increase in under-resourced people needs to be addressed. There are people who genuinely need assistance, as well as a large number of people who suffer from mental illness, substance abuse or are legitimately dangerous. I have seen people shooting up in daylight at the gas station on Mason and Devonshire, a man high on meth recently scaled our backyard fence and tried to enter our home while my husband played with our children. A man attempted to crawl through my cousin's window into the bedroom of her home while she and my nephew were sleeping. If we do not take action and do something now, we are headed down a path of extreme crisis (like San Francisco https://bit.ly/2N5rVA2). There are daily reports in our neighborhood Patch pages of needles found in parks, human feces in public play areas, as well as humans living in the worst conditions in unprotected outdoor spaces. Please sign this petition, encouraging representatives of districts 2, 3, 6, 7 and 12—Mitch Englander, Bob Blumenfield, Monica Rodriguez, Nury Martinez, Paul Krekorian to open dialogue with the community and create a plan to take action.

  • BLACK MASS INCARCERATION
I'm starting this petition because in every court house in this country, everyday it's full of mostly Black Americans which only make up a small percentage of American population. EVERY AMERICAN and non American knows Black Americans are not treated fairly in this country BUT not enough if any is being done to stop it. It's time for REAL CHANGE, we have too many politicians elected and not writing bills to make changes for the people who voted them into office. NOBODY'S holding those who treat Black Americans unfairly accountable. If you are not fighting for fairness for Black Americans you are part of the program PERIOD. We all deserve equal and fair opportunities in this country. Please show your support and make a difference. America is stronger when we all are working together and being treated fairly.

  • NY State Scanner Bill
In the past 2 months since both the New York State Senate and Assembly have passed the Scanner Bill (Senate Bill S5337), we have had multiple officers and inmates assaulted with deadly weapons and it continues to occur on an almost daily basis. This bill becoming law would have an immediate positive impact in making New York City Jails safer, but for now remains in limbo due to the inaction of Governor Cuomo.

  • Jeff Bezos: Show Your Farms to the Public
Amazon is profiting off of criminal animal cruelty and refusing to be accountable or show the public its farms. Numerous DxE investigations of Amazon and Whole Foods farms have revealed animals without access to food and water, rotting, dead hens among the living, and animals so densely crowded in indoor sheds or narrowly confined in individual crates that they can barely even turn around. Yet, Amazon has refused conversation about this criminal conduct. Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, is the richest person on the planet, and Amazon just became a trillion dollar company. That power is being abused, and Amazon needs to be held accountable for their crimes. Read more about Amazon’s crimes at oneclickcruelty.com.

  • Impeach Brett Kavanaugh
Brett Kavanaugh is being considered as a replacement for a swing justice on the Supreme Court, giving him the potential to change the direction of the court for a generation. He has dodged questions about his extreme views and his willingness to overturn precedent, but more fundamentally we now know, from the small proportion of written documents that have been released, that he has perjured himself, which is a crime, to cover up other crimes. He is not fit to serve, and if seated will bring the court and the rule of law into disrepute.
