• National Boycott & General Strike Campaign to Save Democracy
Our democracy is in taters and we are on the verge of becoming a fascist oligarchy. Our only hope of stopping this historic disaster is to put ourselves on the line in collective action against the wealthy powers stealing our right to good and healthy lives. If we join together to stop giving them our money and deny them our labor we stop giving them their power over us. Obviously this petition is just one starting point to help bring us together in action.

  • General Mattis: Say NO to Imprisoning Immigrants on Military Bases
In late June, press reports indicated that Gen. James Mattis was asked by the Administration to assist with the "zero tolerance" immigration policy by building austere, temporary tent camps on military bases to incarcerate migrants detained at our southern border. Gen. Mattis indicated his permission, although this incarceration plan is jurisdictionally and morally very problematic. And clearly, we the people need much more information about this. It is not the Military's job to imprison immigrants for any reason or length of time. Migrants from the southern border are overwhelmingly fleeing violence in their home countries. They are not enemies of the U.S. Rather, many of them have legally requested Asylum but are being criminalized nonetheless. Parts of the Zero Tolerance policy are being reversed in court challenges, such as the separation of children from their parents, and the indefinite detention of children & families. Moreover, both houses of Congress have created a version of the Families Belong Together Act, which explicitly states that they do not favor indefinite detention of these migrant families. Reports indicate that now, the Administration has reverted to an Obama-era policy which let families live in the U.S., wearing ankle tracking bracelets, as they await adjudication of their cases. It is not clear that more detention facilities are even necessary. Transparency has been abominable as even members of Congress are denied access to many detention centers. There are reports of inhumane conditions which some congressmembers have actually observed, and more of which have been kept hidden from the legislature and the public. This is a national emergency, and I have created this petition because the zero tolerance policy has proven to be inhumane and illegal, at least in some respects. For the armed forces to get involved would hurt the Military's reputation both at home and abroad and would certainly negatively affect morale and recruitment of new volunteers. I hope you'll sign my petition to General Mattis, urging that he do the right thing by halting any activity in furtherance of the request to build tent camps and incarcerate migrants in them on military bases. In halting this action, he would be acting for the Military, the migrants who are neither foreign nor domestic enemies of the United States, and for citizens. It's the right thing for him to do.

  • Bring Back Marching On
Marching On was a concert showcase put on by the school district for our community, comprised of each school's choir, band, and color guard programs. This event not only enriched our children's educational experience, but also gave them an outlet of expression, along with the chance to take pride in their hard work through performing. Marching On gave students of all grades a sense of community, taught us to take pride in our hard work, and gave us the chance to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.

  • President Trump must release his tax returns
We the people have a right to know if any collusion with Russia is going on, and by examining the tax returns, we might see Russian connections that in turn made him compromised. He works for us, we need that tax background check.

  • Make New York an Open Primary State
I have lived in New York all my life. I have been registered as NOP since my first election. I have always thought that New York, a progressive, liberal state, had the wrong position on this issue.

  • The House Judiciary Committee needs to start articles of impeachment
The President's conduct at the Helsinki summit was a betrayal of all Americans. His increasingly narcissistic and defensive behavior has made it clear he can't handle the job.

  • Remove Russian Agents from Government.
This Petition is to start legal proceedings against the traitorous acts of Donald J. Trump. He continues to violate his Oath of office and has attacked the US in defense of his country of allegiance, Russia. It is time for the people to have justice from this traitor and that he be removed from office and incarcerated as the Traitor that his acts have proven him to be.

  • Take action today to save lives
Soaring temperatures at work will make thousands of Americans seriously ill this summer. Some will even suffer a heat stroke and lose their lives. In California we dealt with this problem by fighting to establish the first permanent outdoor heat regulations in the nation. In 2015 we were able to improve the regulations to protect even more workers. Washington has taken some action to protect outdoor workers, but more is needed. Minnesota has laws protecting indoor workers. But there are 47 other states. People are concerned. It's such a public health risk that many groups have gotten together to demand action on a national level. We're proud to join these efforts and to do everything we can to protect, among others, the people who labor so hard to put food on your table. Tell the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to implement a national heat stress standard requiring employers to protect workers from extreme heat. Sign the petition today and demand better protections for those working in extreme heat. In recent years, record-high temperatures have been seen across the country. But many states don't have adequate laws to protect their workers. Workers often suffer from heat exhaustion, which can escalate to heat stroke and even death. And this danger is increasing rapidly with climate change. The solution is simple: Heat illness can be prevented by access to water, shade and rest breaks. But many employers won't provide these basic needs voluntarily. The Sunnyside, WA dairy worker in this picture has some protection but needs more. The last five days have had highs from 97-105°. Dairy workers work year-round day and night regardless of weather. Many employers deny workers these basic needs — putting countless people at risk every summer. Some may even die. Take action now before any more lives are lost by signing this petition to OSHA.

  • SIGN NOW: Censure Donald Trump
This is our country, our democracy, and our watch, and we won’t stand silently by as a sitting U.S. President questions our own nation's intelligence agencies’ determination that Russia has meddled in our elections, cuts ties to our closest and longest allies, and also embraces a country and leader (Putin) whose intelligence service operatives have just been indicted for interfering in our national elections to unfairly help Trump win, who annexed territory in Ukraine leading to the deaths of thousands of people, and who has actively undermined Russia's free press and civic organizations. President Putin is not a friend of democracy, something every country in the world understands, but President Trump does not. For our President to side with Putin and call into question the conclusions of our intelligence services and Congressional investigations was beyond shameful and the American people will not stand for it. Congress must censure the President now, as well as take immediate bipartisan action to protect our electoral integrity and advance investigations.

  • U.S. Senate: Censure President Trump
As an American citizen, I can't stand to simply sit and watch what President Trump is doing to this country and to the world -- without any formal reprimands or checks from the Republican-controlled House and Senate. He must be stopped -- or at least formally condemned from both sides of the aisle. The looming repercussions of doing nothing are too enormous to ignore.
