To get better education and higher teacher pay.

Our Health Care in the U.S. is broken and Colorado can lead, as we have before, in attaining Universal Health Care. A single payer system with out the Insurance companies. It looks like Cary Kennedy may be our next Governor of Colorado. Her platform is progressive except Health Care. Let’s change that and demand Health Care for ALL. The Colorado Foundation for Universal Health Care has the answer.

This petition was created for a school project but because we are so compassionate about our love for animals we think it is much more important for animals to avoid pain than it is to get a good grade.

It has come to the attention of the students of Connecticut College that Dr. Andrea Baldwin is not being offered a tenure-track position, without first having to compete in a national search. We (the students of Connecticut College) feel that this completely devalues all the work Dr. Baldwin has done on this campus. This includes taking on many voluntary academic positions, such as the co-chair of Africana Studies and (position) of the CCSRE. Furthermore, it does not recognize all the work she has done for her students, both academically and personally. There is a long history of professors of color (specifically women of color) being denied tenure track at Connecticut College. As it currently stands, only 26.4% of full-time faculty are professors of color and only 7.1% of full-time faculty are Black or African American, this does not separate tenure, tenure-track professors. We find this disgraceful in an institution that claims to pride itself on equity and inclusion. Not only does Connecticut College fail to hire an adequate amount of professors of color, they fail even more gravely to retain them. Especially women of color. It is infuriating that students were not involved in the decision to forfeit Dr. Baldwins possibility of being a tenure-track hire. We find this to be especially disgraceful because the college prides itself on including students in these types of decisions and holds shared governance with its students to be a top priority. Finally, what is most obvious and disgraceful, is that the GWS department has now twice in the past five years created possibilities for exceptional “opportunity hires”. Both professors who were lucky enough to benefit from these opportunity hires are both white cisgendered professors, who were both granted tenure. The hires took place in a time where the GWS department was at risk of “no longer being a department”. It is clear that the department of “Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectionality” is, with out Dr. Baldwin, at risk again. This is why Dr. Bawdwin should have been and should still be considered for an opportunity hire to be placed in immediate tenure, or at least be granted a tenure-track position. It should be a priority of the school to retain professors of color by any means necessary especially when they have so clearly been valuable to student experience here at Conn.

Whatever the cause of this extinction, humans caused it and humans need to clean it up....and it's not that difficult: • Leave the dinosaurs in the ground, count more than cash crushing life on earth, to stop causing hell on earth… • Harvest free, infinite flows & cycles of nature, 100% Renewable Energy (efficiency & storage) 100% Doable by 2030 (IRENA 2016), by 2050 (100.org 2015)….if we redefine our word “economic” as more than mechanical rates of fossilized cashflow floods crushing life on earth….if the fossil fuel industry and war profiteer industry would stop causing hell on earth and help harvest free infinite flows of free infinite energy for all power all energy needs on earth so we can play instead of suffer…… to share to fill in hungry voids of the negative to lift all up to light instead….obvious or not, counted in cash or not… • Plant, Protect, Grow, Replace the Green Cooling Photosynthesis of Nature that humans have crushed for the last 150 years of fossilized, cash-driven industrialization/urban sprawl…and the last several thousand years of erroneous human assumptions that humans need to crush nature’s productivity to consume…crushing of photosynthetic cooling causing global heating because Heater Cliamte Carbon Heating has become dominant on earth in human worlds and beyond, such as “urban heat islands” o Green cooling photosynthesis simultaneously converts heater climate carbons to cooling o2 + cooling living carbons circulating cooling flows of cooling o2 and also cooling water as h2O as both circulatory within plants and as water transpiration to participate in whole earth cooling of climate, oceans, green watersheds ….. o If humans caused desertification,then humans can reverse desertification with photosynthesis

I want students to be able to play with a team that's not in their district if they so may choose. I have been personally affected by this because I was recently told I was not allowed to play with people I have been playing with since 1st grade because they are not in my chosen district and neither is the school to which they go.

50 years ago, spurred to action by the assassination of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Congress passed the Fair Housing Act and gave the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) the responsibility of enforcing anti-discrimination and segregation in housing. Now, Secretary Carson is following up his actions to undermine fair housing by trying to change HUD's mission to remove language that states their commitment to ending discrimination and for creating affordable housing for all. Secretary Carson works for us, the People, and HUD's mission is his job description. Sign on now to tell Secretary Carson that we aren't going to go along with him moving the goal posts on his duties. The millions of people who rely on HUD and the tens of millions more who qualify for assistance need him to do the job he was hired to do!

A Remington Research Group poll in December 2017 found that a large majority of Americans favor banning imports of elephant and lion trophies, 78% to 15%. By political party, 76 percent of Republicans, 84 percent of Democrats, and 75 percent of non-partisan voters favor a ban. President Trump and Secretary Zinke need to listen to the American people!

Rather than targeting criminals, as promised, Trump has empowered ICE to aggressively stalk and detain any law-abiding hard-working immigrant. Tearing families apart is not a humane immigration policy. In addition to being cruel, it amounts to racial profiling, and makes us less safe by discouraging our immigrant neighbors from reporting crime and fully engaging in our communities because of fear of deportation. NJ should follow California's lead and be a Sanctuary State.

I am just a common citizen who sees the recent decision by the Georgia legislature as another attempt to force Delta and other businesses (WATCH OUT for Amazon's consideration to move to Georgia!), to act against the best interests of their stockholders and the public at large.
