• Repeal NRA Laws Pushed by the American Legislative Exchange Council
The NRA has been using the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) to do its bidding with legislators dating back to 1995. ALEC was behind several bills that were conceived in conjunction with ALEC’s corporate member, the NRA, behind closed doors for the Public Safety and Elections Task Force. After 2012, in the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy and the spotlight on ALEC’s Stand Your Ground Policy, the task force was disbanded. However, ALEC has yet to do anything to repeal or rollback any of the dangerous gun legislation that they pushed on behalf of the NRA for years. • EPA To Close Center That Researches Chemical Effects On Kids
I live in a heavily polluted urban area, and I know first hand how important it is to protect the health of our communities. We owe our kids clean air and clean water, and we can't let them push this through.

  • No Tolerance For Bully On Live Me
I think we have all seen the effects of bullying of a person either in day to day life or on the app. Some people can brush off the harsh words, but some people are really effected by the words that are said to them. Please sign this petition if you want to see a zero tolerance policy placed on liveme so that the accounts that are doing the bullying are banned from having their account. The people that come into a broadcast to tell people they are ugly, stupid, etc needs to stop. As well as in family chats and DM messages. Although you can block people, you can't always stop them before the words are said. Bullying can mentally harm a person and cause them to cause harm.

  • Single Payer Health Care
Money we are paying for health care is going to insurance companies that do not provide health care. Single Payer saves us lots of money by using our government (Not making a profit) to insure our access to health care.

  • Teachers shall not be required to carry guns in schools.
Trump suggested that teachers should carry guns in schools. Many teachers are totally against this. As a retired teacher, I would like to make our voices heard. Simple common sense actions should be taken right away to protect students and teachers. By discussing and listening to each other, additional actions can be taken.

  • Bank of America: stop loaning to NRA-backed gun makers
With mass shootings showing no sign of slowing and Congress unwilling to act we are asking corporate America to help. Bank of America loans millions to gun manufacturers allowing them to produce deadly weapons. We are asking Bank of America to stop loaning money to gun manufacturers until they come to the table to help curb the violence.

  • WE ASK THE WARRIORS -- DON’T steal $40 million from local tax-payers!
The Warriors have already announced that they are leaving Oakland, to move to an over $1 billion new facility they are building in San Francisco. While the move on its own will cause economic harm and job loss to Oakland and Alameda County, and traffic congestion and disruption to vital medical facilities in San Francisco, the Warriors are threatening much greater harm, in seeking to avoid paying the debt they owe, as they leave. This could potentially cause harmful cuts in vital public services for the people of Oakland. See: https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/09/21/golden-state-warriors-arena-authority-at-odds-over-oracle-debt/ The Warriors brought a case to arbitration to try to get out of paying the remaining bond debt that covers the Arena upgrades that they had requested, and had agreed to pay for. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/02/16/who-will-pay-golden-state-warriors-oracle-debt-dispute-headed-to-arbitration/ If the public loses, the city of Oakland and County of Alameda will likely have to cut public services in order to pay the $40 million debt. The owners are threatening to damage a community that gave so much to the Warriors, including putting the money up front for the Arena. Robert Gammon in The East Bay Express critiques the empty gesture of the Warriors here. https://www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/the-warriors-empty-gesture/Content?oid=13456895 Gammon quotes, “In other words, Lacob and Guber, we appreciate those new Town jerseys and logos. But they're a hollow gesture if you stiff taxpayers out of the $40 million that you clearly owe — and can afford.” Sign this petition and share it with your friends to tell the Warriors pay their bills. Our community is working on housing its homeless and increasing services to its residents, and should not have to pay the bills for a wealthy corporation. Our people deserve better. Sincerely, Rebecca Kaplan Oakland City Councilmember At-Large

  • DCCC, Stay OUT of IL-03 race!
March 20, 2018 is the date to elect the next progressive congressional member to represent Illinois-03. Since the start of the election cycle and traditionally, the DCCC has engaged in races to help Democratic candidates win. The DCCC does bring resources to races, but it has also been known to hurt grassroots organizing by dictating from Washington, DC who voters should choose to represent their district. The DCCC should stay OUT of this race and allow the voters of IL-03 to decide who will best represent their community and values.

  • Delta should move from Georgia before bowing to Lt. Gov.
The NRA used to support reasonable gun laws. They no longer do so all pressure should be brought to bear in order to get reasonable gun laws. It is time our children stopped dying so the NRA can support gun manufacturers and politicians.

  • Xcel Energy: End Your Alliance with NRA
I am sick and tired of corporate sponsorship of the NRA. My son is starting Kindergarten this fall, and I refuse to see him leave school in a body bag. Xcel's HQ are in Minneapolis, the city I call home. I am NOT ok with their alliance with the NRA.

  • Tell the White House: Revoke Gateway Pundit's Press Credentials
In the aftermath of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward Country, Florida., students who survived the attack have bravely stood up to demand action for safe schools and safe communities. But now, right-wing blogs are pushing wild conspiracy theories about the students who survived, claiming they are plants, are actors, or are being manipulated by politicians. I know these students. I have worked with these students. These courageous young people survived a horror beyond what any person should have to face, and now they stand with moral courage and strength to call us all to action. It is outrageous enough that outlets like the Gateway Pundit are spreading these lies and driving attacks on these students. But it is even more outrageous that an outlet that peddles lies and conspiracy theories holds a White House press credential and the authority that carries. By giving the Gateway Pundit press credentials, the White House is validating the site and these attacks. President Trump and this administration must make it clear that these attacks are unacceptable by pulling the Gateway Pundit’s credentials and permanently banning the site and its publishers from the White House. These students deserve our praise and our support. Their advocacy in the face of horror and violence is what makes America great. Instead, the Gateway Pundit is driving vicious personal attacks by peddling conspiracy theories. The White House must show that there are consequences for this kind of behavior.
