  • Release the House Democratic Intelligence Committee Rebuttal Memo
The truth about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election needs to be known, and Robert Mueller needs to be able to continue his investigation. Donald Trump cannot be allowed to further obstruct justice and the investigation, as he has already done and continues to attempt to on a frequent basis. The public needs to know the truth and cannot only be allowed to see the clearly partisan Nunes Memo, and should be shown the Democratic rebuttal and allowed to judge the information for themselves. Furthermore, Rod Rosenstein’s position as Deputy AG (and overseer of the Mueller investigation) should not be placed in jeopardy due to partisan lies, misinformation and things taken out of context, as set forth in the Nunes Memo.

  • Rep Rodgers: Show up to candidate forums
Rep. Rodgers continues to avoid open public forums. Now that she is up for election she has declined to attend any of the candidate forums. Her constituents deserve to know where she stands on important issues and how she compares to the candidate running against her.

  • We Want a Fracking Ban in Florida
Fracking for oil and gas has led to drinking water contamination, toxic air pollution, and serious health impacts in states across the country. If Florida were to allow this new, more invasive drilling in our state, we'd be putting our groundwater and our public health at risk. That's why 90 communities, including 30 counties, have passed local measures against fracking. But to truly protect our beautiful state, we need a statewide ban. It's time the Legislature listened to the people of Florida and got the job done. A bill that would ban fracking in the Sunshine State has strong support in the Senate, but we need House members to act now too! Floridians deserve better than fracking. Demand that your legislators pass the fracking ban bill (HB 237/SB 462) in 2018.

  • Jeff Sessions Motion of No Confidence
On 02/12/2018, Jeff Sessions did in fact make the following statement during a speech to the National Sheriff’s Association: "Since our founding, the independently elected sheriff has been the people's protector, who keeps law enforcement close to and accountable to people through the elected process," he said at the organization's winter conference. "The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement. We must never erode this historic office." There is no way possible for a man with these belief sets to be able to fairly preside over an office as his. These are attacks aimed directly at people of color of the United States and therefore I think a Motion of No Confidence is warranted. A motion of no confidence (alternatively vote of no confidence, no-confidence motion, or (unsuccessful) confidence motion) is a statement or vote which states that a person(s) in a position of responsibility (government, managerial, etc.) is no longer deemed fit to hold that position, perhaps because they are inadequate in some respect, are failing to carry out obligations, or are making decisions that other members feel are detrimental. As a parliamentary motion, it demonstrates to the head of state that the elected parliament no longer has confidence in (one or more members of) the appointed government. A censure motion is different from a no-confidence motion. Depending on the constitution of the body concerned, "No Confidence" may lead to compulsory resignation of the council of ministers or other position-holder(s), whereas "Censure" is meant to show disapproval and does not result in the resignation of ministers. The censure motion can be against an individual minister or a group of ministers, but the no-confidence motion is directed against the entire cabinet. Again, depending on the applicable rules, censure motions may need to state the reasons for the motion while no-confidence motions may not require reasons to be specified. These are attacks aimed directly at people of color of the United States and therefore I think such a vote is warranted.

  • Ban Traveling Elephant Acts in Ohio
I am starting this petition because it is unethical to keep elephants in trailers or on chains, thus depriving them of their biological needs to socialize and physical needs to exercise (in the wild elephants live in large groups of up to 100 elephants and have been known to mourn the loss of a member for days, they also typically walk 40 miles each day which is crucial to their health and longevity). Elephants have to be "broken" in order to work for humans; the use of bull hooks, electric shocks, food deprivation, and other forms of abuse cause extreme physical and emotion damage on these beautiful creatures. I have personally seen elephants chained to trailers while waiting to perform in 90+ degree heat without any shelter or water for hours while standing in their own waste. I have also seen the wounds and scars on these elephants casued by years of being repeatedly beat, shocked, and tormented. Ohio is better than this, let's join Illinois and ban traveling elephant acts in our state!

  • Release the Democratic memo
In a clearly partisan move that reeks of double standards, President Donald Trump announced that he would block the release of the Democratic rebuttal to the “Nunes memo” that tried to smear the investigation into Russian interference in our elections. The House Intelligence Committee’s unanimous vote in support of releasing the Democratic memo makes it clear that there are many facts that have not been shared with the public. And the President’s rationale for blocking it apparently didn’t apply when he decided to release its GOP counterpart. We can’t afford to let the Russia investigation become a partisan political football, but that’s exactly what Trump and his defenders in Congress want. The American people deserve real transparency, and to be able to trust our civic institutions. That’s why it’s so important we demand that the Democratic memo be released. Trump had no issue releasing the Nunes memo, which was an obvious partisan hack job, meant to derail Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign. His strategy failed. His decision to halt the release of the Democratic memo is an obvious attempt to hide the truth behind Russia’s attack on our democracy and we cannot let him continue to try to obstruct the Russia investigation. Americans deserve the truth, not a cover-up. Demand that the minority memo be released.

  • Sign the petition: Stop the Republican War on Voting. Fix Pennsylvania's gerrymander.
Pennsylvania's congressional district map is one of the most shameless gerrymanders in the country, and is a big reason why Republicans have a majority in Congress. The Pennsylvania state Supreme Court found it unconstitutional and has ordered the state legislature to submit a new map before the 2018 elections. But Pennsylvania Republicans are refusing to listen. After the U.S. Supreme Court denied their appeal, they are now talking about impeaching the state Supreme Court. Impeaching the state's Supreme Court justices would require a supermajority of the state Senate, which Pennsylvania Republicans unfortunately have because … gerrymandering. Sign the petition: Stop partisan Republican attacks voting rights. End Pennsylvania's gerrymander.

  • Michigan must require all handguns to be registered with the State Police
The N.R.A. has taken the Second Amendment and twisted it's meaning and intent. When initially enacted, the 'right to bear arms' was intended for protection of one's home and family.....not for carrying firearms in public places, schools or, churches. Fatal gun deaths are higher in the U.S.A. than any other country on the planet !
