Single Payer Health CareMoney we are paying for health care is going to insurance companies that do not provide health care. Single Payer saves us lots of money by using our government (Not making a profit) to insure our access to health care.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alexander Farrell

Teachers shall not be required to carry guns in schools.Trump suggested that teachers should carry guns in schools. Many teachers are totally against this. As a retired teacher, I would like to make our voices heard. Simple common sense actions should be taken right away to protect students and teachers. By discussing and listening to each other, additional actions can be taken.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Hofferbert

WE ASK THE WARRIORS -- DON’T steal $40 million from local tax-payers!The Warriors have already announced that they are leaving Oakland, to move to an over $1 billion new facility they are building in San Francisco. While the move on its own will cause economic harm and job loss to Oakland and Alameda County, and traffic congestion and disruption to vital medical facilities in San Francisco, the Warriors are threatening much greater harm, in seeking to avoid paying the debt they owe, as they leave. This could potentially cause harmful cuts in vital public services for the people of Oakland. See: https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/09/21/golden-state-warriors-arena-authority-at-odds-over-oracle-debt/ The Warriors brought a case to arbitration to try to get out of paying the remaining bond debt that covers the Arena upgrades that they had requested, and had agreed to pay for. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/02/16/who-will-pay-golden-state-warriors-oracle-debt-dispute-headed-to-arbitration/ If the public loses, the city of Oakland and County of Alameda will likely have to cut public services in order to pay the $40 million debt. The owners are threatening to damage a community that gave so much to the Warriors, including putting the money up front for the Arena. Robert Gammon in The East Bay Express critiques the empty gesture of the Warriors here. https://www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/the-warriors-empty-gesture/Content?oid=13456895 Gammon quotes, “In other words, Lacob and Guber, we appreciate those new Town jerseys and logos. But they're a hollow gesture if you stiff taxpayers out of the $40 million that you clearly owe — and can afford.” Sign this petition and share it with your friends to tell the Warriors pay their bills. Our community is working on housing its homeless and increasing services to its residents, and should not have to pay the bills for a wealthy corporation. Our people deserve better. DCCC, Stay OUT of IL-03 race!March 20, 2018 is the date to elect the next progressive congressional member to represent Illinois-03. Since the start of the election cycle and traditionally, the DCCC has engaged in races to help Democratic candidates win. The DCCC does bring resources to races, but it has also been known to hurt grassroots organizing by dictating from Washington, DC who voters should choose to represent their district. The DCCC should stay OUT of this race and allow the voters of IL-03 to decide who will best represent their community and values.95 of 100 SignaturesCreated by jim longino

Delta should move from Georgia before bowing to Lt. Gov.The NRA used to support reasonable gun laws. They no longer do so all pressure should be brought to bear in order to get reasonable gun laws. It is time our children stopped dying so the NRA can support gun manufacturers and politicians.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Beverly Williams

Xcel Energy: End Your Alliance with NRAI am sick and tired of corporate sponsorship of the NRA. My son is starting Kindergarten this fall, and I refuse to see him leave school in a body bag. Xcel's HQ are in Minneapolis, the city I call home. I am NOT ok with their alliance with the NRA.95 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel

Tell the White House: Revoke Gateway Pundit's Press CredentialsIn the aftermath of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward Country, Florida., students who survived the attack have bravely stood up to demand action for safe schools and safe communities. But now, right-wing blogs are pushing wild conspiracy theories about the students who survived, claiming they are plants, are actors, or are being manipulated by politicians. I know these students. I have worked with these students. These courageous young people survived a horror beyond what any person should have to face, and now they stand with moral courage and strength to call us all to action. It is outrageous enough that outlets like the Gateway Pundit are spreading these lies and driving attacks on these students. But it is even more outrageous that an outlet that peddles lies and conspiracy theories holds a White House press credential and the authority that carries. By giving the Gateway Pundit press credentials, the White House is validating the site and these attacks. President Trump and this administration must make it clear that these attacks are unacceptable by pulling the Gateway Pundit’s credentials and permanently banning the site and its publishers from the White House. These students deserve our praise and our support. Their advocacy in the face of horror and violence is what makes America great. Instead, the Gateway Pundit is driving vicious personal attacks by peddling conspiracy theories. The White House must show that there are consequences for this kind of behavior. Petition to hire another School Resource OfficerI am starting this petition as a student who is genuinely scared to go to school every day. With the regular school shootings that occur in the United States, I feel as though schools should be doing everything in their power to protect their students, starting with a separate resource officer for the high school.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Madeline McCall

Revoke the NRA’s tax exempt statusI am disturbed by the response of the NRA leadership in prioritizing political gains and profit over people's lives. By these actions the NRA is demonstrating that they are not eligible to continue as a tax exempt organization.546 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Melvyn Zander

REI: drop NRA-supporting gun company Vista OutdoorREI doesn't sell guns like some outdoors companies. And they have a policy banning guns from their stores. There are lots of reasons why I feel good about shopping at REI, and these definitely help! But a lot of companies that REI carries are owned by a parent company called Vista Outdoor, which makes most of its money from selling guns and ammunition. When REI sells a Blackburn bike light or a Giro helmet or a Camelback water bottle, they're supporting a gun company. I'm a triathlete and I do a lot of my shopping for cycling and outdoor gear at REI. And as a co-op member/owner, I think of REI as an ethical place to shop. But by doing business with a gun company that is a major supporter of the NRA, they are helping make the country less safe. The NRA has controlled gun policy for too long and helped make it legal to buy assault weapons. But right now, there's major momentum for sensible gun laws, fueled by companies and banks dropping their relationships with gun merchants. If we get REI to drop Vista Outdoor, we can help speed that momentum. That's why I'm calling on REI CEO Jerry Stritzke to stand up for gun safety and end its relationship with Vista Outdoors. Join me!135 of 200 SignaturesCreated by David Sievers
