• Bring Joel Colindres Home!
**UPDATE: The "Department of Homeland Security" deported Joel Colindres on Wednesday, January 31st. Please sign in hopes to reunite Joel with his family, safely here in the US. Joel is not a criminal. Joel is/was a hardworking, taxpaying father of 2 small children. He is/was the kindergarten soccer coach, the favorite son-in-law of his combat wounded veteran father in law. Joel never posed a threat to anyone. He has no criminal record. Joel fled violence and death threats in Guatemala in 2004. He sought asylum in the USA. Because of a clerical error, Joel's court date notification was mailed to the wrong address in the wrong state. Joel never received that notification- which set his life course in motion. Joel is happily married to a US citizen and has an approved I-130 and Visa sponsorship thru his wife. Rather than hear his asylum case or allow him to finish the Green Card process through his valid marriage, the "Department of Homeland Security" forced him to take a one way nonstop flight to Guatemala, the very place he fled. Please follow Joel's family's struggle on the Facebook page "Save Joel Colindres." ICE has made the cruel decision to break this family- but they're going to fight to keep it together. They will continue to fight for justice for Joel!

  • Recreational Producer Authority to Operate Business: while undergoing change in existing license.
In the production of any crop, time not cultivating has considerable costs and hinderance. It is therefore important to understand the difference between Producer's business than that of retail, extract, and cannabinoid. In production, if a licensee is unable to cultivate mothers and propagate for the upcoming season or indoor session, the halt of operation is not restricted to the time of delay, but an entire season or cultivation cycle. Timing is intrinsic to farming, and thus this should be given precedence to producers to ensure optimal production and consistency. The current rule in place does not give producers beneficial allowance in times of change or business growth, which causes serious impediment to producers business cycles. I personally have been affected by this rule for 60 days and counting, which carries considerable setbacks to the entire year of propagation. It is my goal to draw attention to issues that licensees experience and to assist in changes that not only aid producers but the entire production towards a more consistent marketplace.

  • Ban Assault Rifles in California
AR-15s and AK-47s are machine guns, or assault rifles, whose sole purpose is to kill as many people in as short a time as possible. These weapons of war have no place in our communities. As we've seen time and time again, way too many times, access to these assault weapons wreak havoc in our society and innocent children and adults are killed in the places that should be the most safe and protected, such as schools. The 2nd amendment was written in 1791, a time when machine guns had not been invented yet and America was occupied by British armies. How many more children will have to die to protect an amendment that is irrelevant and outdated to today's technology? What is more important: unnecessary access to assault rifles or our country's children? If no change is made, no change will happen. Sign to ban assault weapons in California.

  • Update Our Water Infrastructure
In order to prevent harmful and unhealthy water contamination in one's community, we want funding to increase water safety testing on a regular basis and to update our water infrastructure nationwide; such as the case in Flint, MI.

  • Humane Wolf Management
It is upsetting to hear of wolves being killed when there is a humane solution that could easily be implemented. Shelter dogs could be trained to do this work which would result in additional animal lives being saved. The backpacking, hiking and camping that I have done throughout my life have instilled a devotion to the preservation of the wildlife that was here long before we were that need to be preserved into the future.

  • Stop Gun Violence Now!
This petition is about creating change in the way that people have access to guns by reforming the laws that regulate the sales of guns. As of February 28th 2018, there have already been 18 school shootings in the United States, with the most recent being in Parkland Florida where 17 were killed. School is meant to be a safe place for children, not a place of fear. It is where you send your child to learn , and not to get hurt. We must do something about these terrible tragedies. Parents send their kids to school now actually worried about the possible threat of a shooting. By signing this petition you are asking our legislators to take action on the the proposals above. So please consider this letter and sign below to protect the next generations of kids.

  • Tell the Senate: Cut Off U.S. Support for the Saudi War in Yemen
For three years, the United States has been enabling Saudi Arabia’s brutal campaign driving more than 8 million Yemenis to the brink of famine. Our government gives Saudi Arabia bombs and planes. Our troops even deliver fuel to Saudi jets in midair while they conduct bombings. Now, Vermont progressive Senator Bernie Sanders and constitutional conservative Senator Mike Lee of Utah have introduced a bipartisan resolution to cut off U.S. support for this illegal war. Bernie’s resolution is our best chance to end America’s role in triggering this unconscionable, man-made crisis. And because this resolution declares that the war in Yemen violates the Constitution, it’s guaranteed a vote on the Senate floor within days. Urge your senators to vote YES on the Sanders-Lee resolution and cut off U.S. support for Saudi Arabia’s brutal war in Yemen.
