Superintendent Carsten's contract renewal and annual raise. The contract requests a 2% guaranteed annual raise and an additional 1% raise contingent on his annual review rating of highly effective. The Board repeatedly has found him highly effective, but it is unclear how his effectiveness is determined in any measurable fact other than the Board's opinion. Our District needs to consider the limited resources to provide for such raises to administrative positions and the best interest of our children from ineffective leadership. The Board continues to find him highly effective, but my experience has been less than favorable.179 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Edelbrock

The CDC must study America's gun violence epidemicParkland. Virginia Tech. Sandy Hook. Columbine. Santa Fe, TX. Virginia Beach. Gilroy Garlic Festival. El Paso. Too many people have died as a result of the ever-growing gun violence epidemic in the United States. As a father of two children who are in public school, I am terrified that my child could be next. Our government should be treating it like a public health crisis, yet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has not been given the necessary resources to study the unique question of why so many mass shootings are happening in our nation. Donald Trump refused to acknowledge that those killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are victims of gun violence. When he was sworn into office, he quickly reversed a rule which banned gun purchases by the mentally ill. I believe this is a systemic issue that requires a top-down solution. A study by the CDC should identify the underlying causes and recommend comprehensive solutions, which Congress should use as a basis for creating legislation to solve the root causes of this national crisis. Tell Donald Trump and his Republican party to direct the CDC to study America's gun violence epidemic.71,235 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Adam Miller

Rep Mike Rogers: end NRA's chokehold on CongressWe have to stop our elected officials from taking money from the NRA! We need them to work for us, "The People", not for the powerful gun lobbyists. #REJECTTHENRA The National Rifle Association has a financial chokehold on much of Congress. It’s one of the main reasons why, in the wake of mass shootings such as the ones in Parkland, FL, Sutherland Springs, TX, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Bernardino, and Sandy Hook, we remain unable to pass commonsense gun laws. In the wake of the Las Vegas tragedy, two representatives–Representatives Tim Ryan (Ohio) and Tim Walz (Minnesota)–have donated previous NRA contributions to gun violence protection groups. Now, MoveOn members across the country are petitioning their fellow lawmakers to join them.25 of 100 SignaturesCreated by eric heathcock

NRA BLOOD MONEYTruth is that our government cares nothing about the fear, pain, and suffering inflicted on citizens by their policies. They only care about The money, power, and protection they acquire as a politician. Their thoughts and prayers are worthless. Their actions speak louder than Words. #NoExcuses14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ms. Bouvier

No one needs a Fracked Gas/Oil Power Plant in BurrivilleSolar & Wind power has been hugh in neighboring Massachusetts & just getting a foot hold in Rhode Island. Burrilliville already has a power plant & has already had a well contaminated by Mobil Oil. We don't need a Fracked gas (piped in) with Oil back up (trucked in) built on & next to conservation land to provide other states (not Rhode Island) power. It has been shown that it is completly unessasary & if they feel it is that important there are plenty of closed & abandonded Power Plant locations in New Engalnd that could & should be cleaned up and re-used!45 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brian Fisher
