• Amendment to Pardoning Power for the POTUS
Fear for the justice and integrity of our country, and the potential threat to our Democracy, to allow the POTUS the Power to Pardon when he/she is under legal investigation. Pardoning Power given to a potential criminal, and allowed to be used, interferes with the due process of the law and with the truth surfacing.

  • Use Economic Pressure to Change State Gun Laws
A boycott movement has begun as major companies are cutting ties with the NRA in response to the change in climate created by the passion of the surviving children of Parkland. Progressive groups can support this effort by taking their conventions and events to states where common-sense gun laws facilitate safety. I have not been personally affected by the issue other than as a mother/grandmother horrified by the gun-violence carnage in the U.S.

  • Let's Upgrade The Face Of Mattapan!!
We are starting this petition because we grew up in the Mattapan area and growing up, we always felt that it has been left in the back seat - especially in comparison to other Boston neighborhoods. We believe that opening up a Wing Stop in the area would greatly enhance its economic and aesthetic value. After all, there's heavy foot traffic, affordable public transportation, and new development in the area!

  • Texas - Take Domestic Violence and Rape Seriously
I am a victim of rape and abuse, and my attacker, though he confessed his crimes and was found guilty in court, did not spend one day in jail but rather was placed on probation. I must face my abuser weekly to hand over my one-year-old son, wondering if he will return unharmed. The state did nothing to help me. They gladly gave this proven-in-court-felon even more power over both my baby and me. They also forced me to change my son's surname from mine to that of my rapist's and abuser's. This is effecting women and children all over Texas, and it needs to stop!

  • Withdraw nomination of anti-LGBT lawyer Gordon Giampietro!
One in three of Trump's judicial nominees have an explicit anti-LGBT record and Mr. Giampietro is just the latest to get caught red-handed voicing his bigotry on air. This type of prejudice and bias have no place in our federal courts. The vitriolic and incendiary anti-LGBT rhetoric from Giampietro captured in the recordings, while shocking and disturbing, is unfortunately par for the course with respect to many of the judicial nominees coming out of this White House. In addition, Giampietro has made disturbing comments in blog posts about what he calls a "racial spoils system;" writing about the Civil Rights Act of 1964, he claimed that "calls for diversity" are "code for relaxed standards." He has also said in interviews that he, "grew up next to lawyers, architects and crack dealers...The common denominator [he] saw was that the children who succeeded in Washington, [DC] were in private schools, and the children who turned out to be criminals were in public schools." Even if it is becoming commonplace, we must never accept this discriminatory and divisive as worthy of a federal judge.

  • Amend the 2nd Amendment
I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and as a Health professional I cannot justify anyone having access to Assault Weapons and Large Capacity Magazines. I am a Father and Grandfather; yes I am deeply affected by any mass shootings and especially by the senseless killings of children. I am calling on all Health Professionals and citizens to join me in this effort. It might take years, but it is a matter of time and times are of a changing.

  • Give a penny, get a pound
Teachers have massive responsibilities with crowded classrooms and low student funding in the state of Arizona. • Congress: End U.S. support of bombings in Yemen
A few years ago, I left California to visit my ancestral home, Yemen, and to start a coffee business––an equitable and sustainable business to support farmers and to bridge the divide between cultures through something that everyone loves. But I ended up in the middle of a war. On March 26, 2015, while in Sana'a, the Yemeni capital, I woke up to loud explosions all around me. I went out to see what was going on and saw what looked like laser beams being shot in the sky against Saudi jets. The Saudi government had begun a military campaign against Yemen––supported by our government and our tax dollars. As an American, I felt ashamed, and I felt angry because I knew that those bombs weren't made in Saudi Arabia. They were made in the U.S., and those were our tax dollars. When I found out that the logistical supports for these attacks were provided by our government, it made me even more angry. The airstrikes were violent and sporadic. I heard the sounds of men, women, and children crying, the earth shaking. I didn't know what would happen the next day. I came home to California—but I still run my business. I go back every year to work with my farmers. And, three years later, these airstrikes are still occurring. The war has only escalated, and the humanitarian situation is one of the worst in the world. Over 16 million people require some type of humanitarian aid, and over 42,000 people have been injured. [1] But there is hope. Right now, Senators Bernie Sanders, Mike Lee, and Chris Murphy are calling on Congress to exert their constitutional authority and end this inhumane destruction of millions of lives for geopolitical games. Because the resolution uses the War Powers Act, it must be brought to a floor vote in 10 days. And the clock has already started. Congress must see the American people's fierce opposition to an immoral and illegal war being fought in their name and see strong support for resolution that would bring this U.S. war in Yemen to an end.
