I have an 8-year-old daughter and I want her to feel safe going to school, going to church, or going to any public event. Gun proliferation in America is out of control; too many loopholes in our current laws. We need to raise the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21, have a minimum 5 day waiting period for all purchases, require all private transfers to be registered and to ban assault-style firearms and any accessories to turn them into automatic weapons.

I know many teachers whom have to work a second job to make ends meat. The current Arizona State teacher pay is grossly neglected and that's not right. Parents expect teachers to elevate their child's love for education so they will be ready for college. Unfortunately, Arizonas teacher shortage and turnover rate speaks for its self! A question on citizenship has been proposed for the 2020 census. This is a terrible idea as it discourages non-citizens (legal or not) from participating in the census. And the census affects resources for your state/county/city etc. and re-districting decisions. Everyone should be counted. If enough of us pledge to refuse to answer this question, regardless of citizenship status, then it will show this question to be the worthless & racist question it is. The online form might require the question to be answered, so we may all have to wait for the paper version. That increased cost alone may influence the decision makers. Feel free to send this far and wide! Each of us who pledges makes a difference. Ideally, if enough of us pledge BEFORE the census forms go out, the citizenship question will be scrapped.

We are a group of students in a ninth grade history class, and we are concerned for our country. In order to secure our schools from shootings, we need gun control. We need to get people involved in spreading the word and create awareness all around. Not only does everybody need to work together to pass this law, but we also need to come to an agreement that using guns to harm others is extremely wrong and needs to be stopped. In order to do this, we need to enact stronger gun control laws across the nation. Overall we hope to raise awareness across America and hopefully get enough people involved that some kind of action is taken.
