We need to ask City Council members all of the questions that they should have already asked themselves before getting to this point of the planning process. They should have reached out to the citizens to get them involved in the process, but they haven't. There have already been two recent public improvement projects that proceeded without informing the public, which is required by law. We need to hold City Council responsible for these actions.

The privatization sets a precedent for the resort to pursue further privatizations in the future if gone unchecked!

We are a group of Jewish Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians of the greater DC area, calling for the end of the cycle of violence and an immediate bilateral ceasefire. We stand with all the people of Palestine and Israel and reject the zero-sum framework that we are seeing around us. We are outraged and sickened both by the massacre, kidnapping, and rape of Israelis by Hamas and by Israel’s ongoing massacres and collective punishment in Gaza, creating a severe humanitarian crisis. In our own communities in the United States, we are shocked and saddened by those who continue to justify, encourage, and glorify the killing, destruction, and cycle of blood. We reject all anti-Arab racism, anti-Palestinian racism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia in our community. We call for an immediate bilateral ceasefire as a first step to a long-term political solution. There is no military solution to this conflict. As long as the ideology of Hamas exists, Hamas cannot be completely eliminated. And as long as military occupation, settler terrorism, and economic blockades are in place over Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, peace will not be feasible. During the temporary truce, it was made clear that the only way to bring the hostages home alive and to save the lives of Gazans is through negotiation. Continued bombing, siege, invasion, and occupation of Gaza – inflicting incalculable death and harm on innocent Palestinians - is immoral. Violence begets violence, both in the immediate and in future generations. It is time to end this dynamic in the interest of everyone in the region. In the words of activists from the Parents Circle, an organization bringing together over 600 bereaved families from both sides of the conflict: “The arc of history is long. Germany once tried to wipe out Jews and now exchanges ambassadors with Israel. Some day, Israel and Palestine will coexist as states, and the question is simply how many corpses will pile up before that happens. We must share this land as one state or two states or five states; otherwise, we will share this same piece of land as the graveyards of our kids.” - Bassam Aramin, whose daughter was killed by the IDF. “Revenge is not going to bring my parents back to life…We must break the cycle.” -Moaz Inon, whose parents were killed by Hamas on October 7th.

We are reflecting the personality of our neighborhood, ensuring Inclusivity and Participation for All. We are artists, residents, business owners, students, employees, and visitors. Ultimately, the new pilot parking program damages our collective community spirit. We urge Los Angeles city officials, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, ADLT Neighborhood Council, and Arts District Los Angeles Business Improvement District - BID to reconsider and introduce a Hybrid Preferential Parking District (PPD). There are other methods to manage traffic congestion or raise revenue without causing damage to students, local businesses, residents, and employees. The Downtown Los Angeles Arts District stakeholders would like to find inclusive community-based solutions that benefit all stakeholders equally.

In June 2021, we had a mother come to visit our center with her beautiful little girl, who lives with cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. We gave them a tour of our facility, and then it was time to go out to our playground. We explained to the mother that our playground is not wheelchair accessible. The mother went on to say, “that is ok, most playgrounds around here aren’t, she can just sit on the side and watch”. That statement broke our hearts! No child should EVER have to sit out while all their friends are playing, and no parent should have to accept this as a reality for his/her child.

We have worked really hard to receive these degrees. Why should it be limited to what family members and friends that can see us walk the stage? when they were the ones to help us get through these college years. Without our village, would we be here?

Currently, any law enforcement agency may, without any judicial review, take money and property from individuals. This leaves the individual with no recourse but to hire an attorney and petition the courts to restore your assets. In other words, you may be penalized by and individual law enforcement officer without judicial review or trial of any kind, regardless of guilt or innocence.

My ex-husband had left his 12 year old step-son to watch my 3 year old son Noah and his 5 year old brother. While they were away at the store. When they had come back my 3 year old son was brutality beaten and unconscious not breathing hidden under a bunk bed. He has had to be placed in life support and has had a part of his skull removed due to the intensity of his injuries. The 12 year old boy told his biological father that my son was being "annoying" while crying so he hit him with a belt, hit his head on the bunk bed frame and rammed him at a wall.

Our Halifax County Youth has no place to actually call theirs..access to a safe space where they can work on themselves and their craft!! Idle time is never a good thing!

These attacks have exacerbated the existing humanitarian crisis caused by the Israeli government’s air, land, and sea blockade that has caused catastrophic loss of life. And what’s more, Netanyahu does not have the support of the Israeli people to lead the country. In the latest poll, two-thirds of Israelis polled said they’d vote for literally anyone else over Netayahu. Yet the United States is financially supporting Netanyahu’s war crimes and enabling his failed leadership The reality is that the U.S. government is Netanyahu’s largest supplier of weapons, and every year for the next five years, the U.S. is already sending $3.8 billion in Israeli military aid. And on top of this, the Biden administration proposed sending an additional $14 billion of taxpayer dollars in military aid, which will include military weapons such as bombs and tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells, which have been the Israeli military’s weapon of choice on the ground in Gaza. In the past few weeks, a rising majority of Israelis andAmericans have been speaking out against Netanyahu and the violent attacks that led to this devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. And a recent poll showed a staggering 70-80% expect him to resign following this war due to his brutal and ongoing response, with calls from the opposition leader for his immediate resignation. Netanyahu, facing mounting pressure and polling the lowest among Israeli voters, has led decades of policies that have resulted in no more peace or safety for Israelis. More than 1,200 Israelis were killed and over 240 taken hostage in the Hamas attacks on October 7 and 240 taken hostage. And the brutal response and incessant airstrikes launched by Netanyahu following Hamas’ attacks have not only escalated the violence and failed to prioritize the return of those held hostage, they have created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with one in 200 Palestinians killed in Gaza by Netanyahu’s military since October 7. Entire multi-generational Palestinian families have been killed and erased from the registry. Entire lineages have been wiped out. Nearly half of Gaza's residents are under the age of 16, and 65% are under the age of 25, effectively meaning that Palestinian children are bearing the brunt of the Israeli government’s collective punishment. This unacceptable, inhumane, unjust, collective punishment is also a violation of international law. It must end now. Netanyahu’s bombardment of Palestinians has also drawn criticism from the international community. Ione Belarra, Spain’s Minister of Social Rights, has said that the International Criminal Court should investigate Netanyahu for war crimes. And Colombia’s president, Gustavo Petro, said that his foreign minister will formally charge Netanyahu of war crimes. Calls for a ceasefire are also growing: the majority of Americans—76% of Democrats, and 61% of Americans overall, according to a new poll by Data for Progress—support the ceasefire and want to move toward a peaceful solution that values human rights. More than 400,000 MoveOn members have signed the petition to demand a ceasefire, and have raised nearly $500,000 in aid for Palestinians. “Gaza won’t return to what it was before. We will eliminate everything.” “Let them die badly. Gaza should be wiped off the map.” “The children of Gaza have brought this upon themselves.” These are some of the words from Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, MK Galit Distel-Atbaryan, and MK Meirav Ben-Ari. It’s horrifying. A United Nations human rights expert has confirmed that Palestinians are facing mass ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Israeli government and occupation forces. United States leaders have the massive power to step in and stop it. If we come together, we can make a huge difference. Our collective calls for a ceasefire are working, and demanding that our tax dollars won’t be used to fund Netanyahu’s war crimes is another big step that we can take. And many hospitals have been targeted and bombed by Israeli military airstrikes.  50,000 pregnant women and people are at great risk in Gaza too with miscarriages, premature births, and stillbirths tripling.One mother, Hind S., almost gave birth to her baby under the rubble in the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike before she was dug out and rushed to a hospital where her baby was born with a broken leg from the airstrike. These are only some of the horror stories that have come from PM Netanyahu’s bombardment of Palestinians. We are concerned that, based on posts made by a Wednesday books employee who works directly with influencers and authors, that this employee may hold prejudice against Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian influencers and authors who they work with and interact with. We are asking that the publisher work with us to ensure the safety of the people who work with this employee to market further St. Martins Press titles, so that no prejudice is weaponized against anyone within these affected groups.
