• Tell CNN not to run ads for anti-immigrant, right-wing extremists!
CNN is allowing a right-wing, anti-immigrant extremist group to run racist ads that scare Americans about family-based immigration. NumbersUSA, a group founded by white nationalist John Tanton, is airing a controversial ad that promotes Donald Trump’s racist agenda against immigrants. In their ad, NumbersUSA attacks family values by going after immigrants in the US who sponsor close relatives for green cards. Our laws allow some relatives of American citizens and legal residents to immigrate to the United States, because US policies support family unity. But NumbersUSA, which is against all kinds of immigration, wants to demonize this system. In their view, it leads to “too many” people of color in America. Throughout the years, NumbersUSA has helped derail bipartisan immigration reform legislation in Congress, while working to carry out John Tanton’s vision of limiting immigration of non-white immigrants to the United States. Even worse, NumbersUSA’s leader, Roy Beck, has been known to edit race-baiting articles from a racist journal known as the Social Contract Press. Right now, CNN is airing a six-figure ad buy from NumbersUSA in Washington DC. If CNN wants to truly be “fair and balanced,” it should not air advertising from hate groups like NumbersUSA. This group is not a legitimate commentator on immigration; it's a right-wing extremist group trying to push Donald Trump’s xenophobic agenda and it must be stopped immediately! Please sign this petition and tell CNN to stop giving airtime to right-wing extremist groups like NumbersUSA.

  • Fire Jeff Sessions
As the cannabis market moves forward US companies are being forced to play a game of wait and see. By continuing to keep cannabis illegal we are robbing investors and entrepreneurs of their chance to profit in an emerging market projected to be worth $18 billion by 2021. Jeff Sessions' attitude towards cannabis, as the Attorney General, is negatively influencing what could be a billion-dollar boon to the US economy and therefore does not deserve the title of Attorney General.

  • Faster Internet UT Warehouse
I am personally affected every single day with how slow our internet is. My workflow is hindered by our bandwidth, and I find a lot of time being wasted waiting for pages to load, even on sales calls. I personally believe that faster internet and a higher bandwidth would increase the productivity and revenue office-wide.

  • Drug Test Attorney General Jeff Sessions
He continues to wage a war on marijuana; reversing regulations and threatening future advancement of medicinal use and research. Let’s make sure he’s practicing what he preaches. Demand Jeff Sessions be tested for the use of any and all narcotics, beginning with marijuana. He should have no problem proving his moral superiority if he’s got nothing to hide.

  • Release Simpson & Fritsch testimony NOW
Republicans have been leaking selective information from investigations into President Trump's ties to Russia by the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees. In the Jan 2, 2018 New York Times op-ed, Simpson and Fritsch called on Republicans to release the full transcripts of their testimony to three congressional panels, including the Senate Judiciary Committee, "so that the American people can learn the truth." Republicans have refused. This affects all Americans as it deals with investigation of Russian involvement in our election.

  • Say NO to Trump's pick for US attorney, Southern District NY
The US attorney for the Southern District of New York is arguably the MOST important for investigating matters pertaining to Donald Trump, and all Trump's associates (economic and political, including Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, and Donald Trump Jr.). This is the office formerly held by Preet Bahara (who Trump promised to keep on, before *abruptly* firing him barely 2 months later). Now Trump has appointed a croney, a partner of Trump's former political attack dog Rudy Giuliani. ***IF Robert Mueller is fired, the evidence gathered would go to this office***. We must not allow a Trump henchman to hold this office---the future of the Republic is at stake. Tell your Senators, via this petition, to say NO to Geoffrey Berman!

  • Tax Relief for Terminally Ill Citizens
When tragedy such as a terminal illness befalls citizens of other developed countries, they don’t have to worry about their financial situation, as adequate healthcare, social safeguards and laws protect them. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case if you’re an American. In the US, terminal patients and their families are often immediately faced with heart-wrenching, financial hardships such as loss of income, mounting medical bills, foreclosure and as a result, often hastened death. To add insult to injury, the government taxes some disability payments as regular income and the latest tax reform eliminates all medical deductions, as well as deductions for local and state taxes. As a result, my taxes and those of other terminally ill citizens will increase. This is unconscionable when the corporate and billionaire classes, who are in no way in need of tax relief, are receiving tax windfalls. As a single homeowner, public school teacher and resident of California, I was diagnosed with ALS in 2015. I can no longer walk, eat, talk or breathe on my own. I now need constant in-home care, which costs thousands of dollars a month and somehow, I’m expected to pay for it myself. My disability income is half of my previous salary and doesn’t begin to cover all of my expenses and obligations. I’m forced to spend down money earmarked for retirement to supplement my end of life. Every time I do, it’s a taxable event. In essence, I’m being taxed for having a terminal illness. As a single (and very vulnerable) person, my tax bracket for the 2016 tax year was 28 percent, while the wealthy pay only 15 percent on capital gains, shelter their money in offshore accounts and use loopholes such as pass-through business entities. While they avoid their tax obligations, the government snatches much-needed funds right out of my hands by placing a lien on my bank account. It’s only a matter of time before I lose my house and am sent to an acute care facility due to insufficient funds. I will be financially drained and tossed aside. Is this the kind of society we want? This is criminal and must stop. If you are terminally ill, completely disabled, or are simply a decent human being, please consider signing this petition and sharing it with family and friends. Help us end punitive and harmful taxing of our most vulnerable citizens.

I am starting this petition because I care about my planet. As such, I believe that, in light of Trump's ignorance, the states need to take the initiative and lower GHG emissions.

  • Additional funding for Para Transit service in California
I have been personally affected by this issue because I am a disabled woman who relies on my local paratransit service SunDial for my job, medical appointments, and social activities. Due to low ridership and limited funding, Sunline Transit Agency, the company that operates SunDial, has had to do away with and reroute lines to emulate the regular Sunline lines for fixed routes. This greatly affects the local disabled population in the Coachella Valley. There is a 90-day grace period from January 7th, 2018 to April 7th, 2018 for my local disabled community to find alternative modes of transportation when SunDial is not in operation, A rainy day fund would prevent this from happening in the future.
