• State Street Corporation: Remove 'Trump' from your hotel
Donald Trump is the first president to refuse to divest from his business holdings while in office. Coupled with his refusal to release his tax returns, that level of secrecy makes it impossible to know when he’s representing us as a nation and when he’s representing his own business interests. The President has a choice: to lead the country or to continue enriching himself. And until Trump makes the right call, his business partners must not enable corruption. That’s why we’re calling on these companies, starting with State Street Corporation and the GE Pension Trust, the owners of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in NYC, to remove President Trump’s name from their building. The Trump International Hotel and Tower by Columbus Circle is one of the most recognizable Trump branded properties in the world. We need to send a signal that New Yorkers won’t stand for this kind of blatant corporate greed in their own backyard. We must band together to demand that State Street and the GE Pension Trust stop doing business with the Trump Organization, and drop Trump’s name. There is already momentum. On Nov 22, the Trump Organization announced that they will be “walking away” from the Trump SoHo Hotel—which has been marred in scandal, and financial woes.(1) Now, Trump is facing scrutiny from the Maryland and DC AG’s office who are starting to investigate his Washington DC hotel stating that it “enables him to make money from foreign and domestic governments, breaching two Constitutional clauses intended to prevent that.”(2) This is an unprecedented conflict of interest. Companies should not be profiting from this corruption. Buildings like Trump International Hotel and Tower should drop Trump’s name while he’s in office. If we act now to pressure other properties to drop the Trump brand we can demonstrate just how toxic his corruption is. After all, a commander in chief who has ongoing involvement in a private business that bears his name cannot truly represent our interests because we aren’t his constituents first. Instead, we’re his patrons, workers, and competition. We need a president who puts country before company. If President Trump won’t divest from his businesses while in office, we need to make sure that companies refuse to profit from corruption. Take a stand against corruption: tell State Street Corporation and the GE Pension Trust to remove President Trump’s name from their hotel.

  • "We Trust Mueller"
I am not hearing about any support, only criticism and possible threats to the investigation. No one seems to be stepping up to defend it -- so the public must do so.

  • Tell Congress to Support Local Farms!
Small towns and rural communities depend on family farms because small farms employ more people per acre than large farms. When they disappear, jobs in the community evaporate with them. Today, family farms are hurting. Since 2007, more than 56,000 midsize farms have disappeared from the American landscape. The loss of jobs and business opportunities in rural America is putting once-vibrant small towns at risk. The Local Food and Regional Market Supply (FARMS) Act offers solutions to these problems by helping farmers reach new markets while expanding access to fresh, healthy, local food in low-income communities. By increasing the demand for local food, the Local FARMS Act would stimulate economic growth in rural communities, creating jobs and reliable revenue streams for farmers and ranchers. The Local FARMS Act would be a win for farmers, a win for consumers, and a win for communities. Sign this petition now and ask your member of Congress to cosponsor the Local FARMS Act.

  • Medicare for all!
The average person cannot afford healthcare in the US. Health care is a basic human right in the 21st century. Let's decouple government from the convoluted private insurers and the out of control pharmaceutical industry.

  • Tell Candidates for Illinois Governor to Divest From Fossil Fuels
On November 29th, the Chicago Sun-Times reported on billionaire J.B. Pritzker and millionaire Chris Kennedy’s myriad investments in fossil fuels. Furthermore, candidate Pritzker maintains a partnership interest in Energy Transfer Partners LP, the builder, operator and part-owner of the Dakota Access Pipeline. J.B. Pritzker owning a financial interest in Energy Transfer Partners LP is particularly disturbing given the widely publicized abuse of Native American Water Protectors by Energy Transfer private security forces at Standing Rock! The Dakota Access Pipeline project has sparked protests, hundreds of arrests and still faces a legal challenge. In January, President Trump signed an executive order to advance the pipeline. Construction had been delayed amid protests due to opposition from Native Americans concerning tribal sacred ground and fears of oil spills contaminating tribal drinking water. The pipeline carries crude underground from the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota, through South Dakota and Iowa to an oil tank farm near Patoka, IL, passing beside or under major rivers and waterways. Climate scientists agree society must move beyond fossil fuels for electricity, transportation and heating. Moreover, an ever-increasing number of economists and business professionals assert a shift from oil, coal and gas to renewable energy sources is not only necessary to prevent climatic disaster, but is economically advantageous as well. The state of Illinois should not stand on the sidelines as the world, including nearly 7500 cities and local governments, race toward a renewable future. Now is the time for Illinoisans to act! Now is the time to limit climate change and the resultant catastrophic weather events on the health and welfare of Illinoisans! PLAN OF ACTION: We plan to deliver this petition to all Illinois gubernatorial candidates at least one month prior to the Illinois Primary on March 20, 2018. Additionally, we will ask each candidate to sign a pledge to divest from fossil fuels and abstain from investing in oil, coal and gas assets in the future. • End the Electoral College
We have twice placed in office presidents who were clearly the minority vote getters in two of the last three changes in the presidency. We are the only nation in the world with such an undemocratic voting system for the sole nationwide office being voted upon. The Constitution says: "We the People..." without reference to the location of the people and our nationwide elections should reflect all the people's choice.

  • End the deletion of legal content posted to secret Facebook groups
Facebook has become increasingly anti-free speech by deleting legal content it finds inappropriate and or against facebooks beliefs in private/secret groups. Secret groups are a way for like-minded people to share ideas, beliefs, and content in a forum designed to opt-in and participate in within a closed private group. Facebook has taken it upon themselves to remove and punish those (aka Facebook Jail) for posting legal content it disagrees with. Please sign this petition and share in the interest of free speech and protecting our 1st amendment! We the people are not helpless and must demand our rights!

  • Reject Franken resignation
Charges against Al Franken are clearly bogus. No one was hurt; no one was pressured to do anything against their will. There is a vast difference between two adults in front of a camera and a lecher and a young girl in a car behind a dumpster or a president viewing all women as targets for his own lechery. The rush to judgment on Franken devalues all the real sexual predator charges brought against others.

  • #CorkerKickback tax plan ethics investigation
An ethics investigation into the Republican tax plan is needed. As many as 14 Republican senators, in addition to Donald Trump and his family, stand to gain millions of dollars from the GOP's tax plan that was just passed due to loopholes for real estate moguls. One Republican senator, Bob Corker, was a "no" on the tax plan just days ago until the last-minute loophole (coined the #CorkerKickback) was added, and now stands to benefit substantially. My children, my grandchildren, and I will end up paying for their personal financial gain, as well as the plan's $1.5 trillion dollar increase to OUR national debt.  What's worse, the GOP tax plan will also force millions losing their health care to help pay for the massive giveaway to the 1%. And, it does nothing to close existing loopholes that had already benefitted the wealthiest donors, lobbyists, and corporations.

  • Reform of the LCFF
Our group strongly believes that everyone should be granted the same learning opportunities despite their social/economic status. The Local Control Funding Formula as it is today does not regulate the spending of the additional money given to school districts enough. By doing so the money that should be used to give learning opportunities to high needs students, are used for other things. By signing this petition you could help us bring the issue to the House and the Senate of the State of California and create a more equitable school funding system.
