• Texas Against Women’s Rights
We need to protect the rights of women that has been fought and won by those women before us. Our constitutional rights are being torn away from us with forced pregnancy and birth. Women have a right to choose. Roe v Wade gave us that right.

  • Pass the Women’s Health Protection Act
UPDATE: The Supreme Court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization strikes down the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, and with it, the federal protection of the right to abortion. Right now, extreme and cruel anti-abortion laws passed by GOP lawmakers in various states are going into effect because of this decision. We need Congress to act. Congress must immediately pass the Women's Health Protection Act. The Women’s Health Protection Act would stop the Republican onslaught of anti-abortion and abortion-restrictive legislation coming out of state legislatures across the country. It would block states from creating barriers to care and would protect health service providers' ability to offer abortion care. It passed the House in 2021 without a single Republican vote but failed to pass the Senate. Sign our petition now and tell the Senate to protect an individual’s right to choose—and eliminate the filibuster to allow this popular, bipartisan bill to pass.

  • Build a Skatepark in Avon CO
These days, we all need more accessible outdoor spaces to play. Our current local skateparks are overcrowded and dangerous. As residents of Eagle County, we know that our outdoor spaces are one of our BEST community attributes. This is particularly true for school-age kids who have outgrown the playground or don't play organized sports. Skateboarding is a great outlet for these kids. This project will also have a positive impact on our community. Skateparks are incredibly popular! With thoughtful design and engineering, they can be used by skateboarders, inline skaters, roller skaters and often scooters and stunt bikes. Visit any public skatepark and you will see an incredibly high use of public land per square foot. A skatepark will increase the use of our public, tax-funded park. It will also provide an outlet for the ever-growing sport of skateboarding and showcase Avon, CO as a place where the community comes together to support this great sport.

  • President Biden: Commute the sentences of federal prisoners on home confinement!
In June 2020—the day before my 75th birthday—I was approved for home confinement under a provision in the to limit the spread of COVID in American federal prisons. It was a very strict criteria: people had to have completed more than 50 percent of their sentence, never engaged in violence, committed no disciplinary infractions in the past year and received the lowest score on the department’s risk-assessment tool. We are being incarcerated for low level offenses, and President Biden can act now to keep us with our families. I was fitted with an ankle monitor that tracked every move I made, and I could not go anywhere without permission from my case manager. But I was aware of the restrictions and grateful to be at home with my 95-year-old mother and family. I had signed up for a computer class administered by the Maryland Justice Project, which was being held in a building owned by the Baltimore City Police Department. I didn’t know the building was designed to prevent GPS and other signals as a security measure, so the ankle monitor I was required to wear lost its signal. My case manager called me, but I’d turned off my phone so I could focus in class—I’d been labeled an escapee, and had to return to prison over this minor misunderstanding. Luckily, I was released after three weeks, and was given a compassionate release by a judge—but this was only after national media coverage and public pressure. Thousands of other people are continuing to live in constant fear, worried that at any given moment, they’ll be ripped away from their families, homes, and communities, and sent back to prison. And in fact, there’s a chance that all of the people currently serving out their sentences in home confinement will have to return to prison once the federal COVID emergency order ends—this was the Trump DoJ’s order, and the Biden administration has shown no signs of changing that. President Biden, please act now to keep these people home. They are doing everything right, yet they wake up every day not knowing where they will be in a few months, and that uncertainty makes it impossible to plan for their futures. Please remove that cloud. Commute their sentences now. I wrote about my experience for the Washington Post in July, and you can read the full story here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/07/15/gwen-levi-home-confinement-prison-biden/

  • STOP THE CALIFORNIA RECALL
We don’t have the luxury of hanging up on reality. There is so much at stake: Healthcare, poverty, racial equity, public safety, housing, social programs — the list goes on. We cannot let the Conservative party win and implement policies that sow hate and division and take away what we have worked so hard for. The party that embraces Trump and all that he stands for — xenophobia, racism, classism, white supremacy, extremism, snd so much more. Their top candidate is a Trump Republican who will unravel all that is good in our State, including the progress that we have made. The struggle for equity and dismantling of hate will be under attack. If you still aren’t feeling the pressure — remember that the power of a governor is immense. Imagine meaningful legislation that we have advocated for never being signed into law. Our hands will be tied. The poll results are in and show that if we don’t show up to vote, the recall will 100% happen. If you do nothing else in this stressful year, please make it voting and reaching out to others to VOTE NO on the recall. Please contact the author of this petition for details on how to GET INVOLVED and SPRED THE WORD. And vote. Vote. VOTE. Kimberly Adams [email protected] 714-325-5303

  • Tell Congress: Denounce Amazon’s plan to build a South African HQ on sacred indigenous land!
Amazon wants to build a new HQ in South Africa by bulldozing over sacred indigenous land.1 And just like when Amazon tried to build a new HQ in New York City, local activists in Cape Town are pushing back. Amazon didn't choose a sacred indigenous site by accident. They know it has historical, cultural and environmental significance.2 They just want to destroy and build on it anyway. But since Amazon is a US company, they're particularly vulnerable to grassroots pressure here in the US. You can show your solidarity with indigenous activists in South Africa by calling on your member of Congress to denounce this new Amazon headquarters. Sign the petition: Tell Congress to denounce Amazon's plan to build a HQ on sacred indigenous land in South Africa! The indigenous land sits on the banks of the Liesbeek River where in the year 1510 Khoi peoples successfully fought back Portuguese intruders. The area is still a source of pride and cultural heritage for the Khoi, which also survived decades of oppression under Apartheid. But now Amazon wants to bulldoze it and build a sprawling campus. Over 50,000 residents in Cape Town signed a petition opposing the construction, but Amazon is pushing ahead anyway. That's why folks on the ground there are asking for your help! If US elected officials publicly denounce this HQ project, Amazon will face an international political and PR nightmare. Activists here in the US successfully blocked an Amazon HQ in New York City. Together you can show solidarity with indigenous activists and help block this new Amazon HQ in South Africa. Sign the petition: Tell Congress to denounce Amazon's plan to build a HQ on sacred indigenous land in South Africa! Sources: 1. • Hold Landlords Accountable For Tenant Harassment, Today.
Homeless is due to shady practices from money hungry and powerful landlords. If we hold them accountable... the city wouldn’t have this catastrophic problem. Not all tenants have issues paying rent but landlords took their large down payments and started harassing them to immediately move out just to collect someone else large deposit.

  • Sign Now: Congress must implement oversight of Pegasus
Pegasus, a spyware created by Israeli company NSO, surveilled over *50,000* individuals — including private citizens — through their phones: tracking their messages, monitoring their locations, and even remotely activating their microphones to listen in on their conversations. This kind of mass surveillance is a threat to each and every one of us. That’s why we’re calling on Congress to protect our privacy and implement oversight of Pegasus spyware. Will you add your name to join us in calling for an end to unchecked surveillance?

  • Jamaica Qns residents fight CM Miller for clean environment & NO waste increase. Kill Int 2349-A
Our fight for a clean environment and clean air, must be heard. Pollutants from the local waste transfer stations on Douglas Ave. have caused asthma, cancer, and other health ailments in our community, and enough is enough. We have been neglected too many years by our elected officials in exchange for them getting funding from these waste stations in Jamaica, Queens. Waste stations “fund our NYC parks” and “help the community” while they get passes to pollute our community. We must fight against this environmental racism.

  • End cash bail in LA County!
As you read this, millions of people across the country are being held in jail even though they haven’t been convicted with any crime. In the vast majority of states and counties, if people charged with a crime can’t afford to pay their bail, they’re forced to sit in jail until their trial date, which can take weeks, months, or sometimes even years. Pretrial detention often leads to all sorts of challenges for a jailed person, including job loss, housing loss, and, if they are a caretaker, complications with child or eldercare. And above all, cash bail leads to unequal treatment under the law, and this is a violation of our Constitution. Regardless of a person’s ability to post bail, they should be granted the same rights and presumption of innocence.

  • Restore Press Freedom!
Today the entire mainstream media is owned by only FIVE corporations, all of which are run by people who are invested in weapons and war. The result is a media that always starts with a pro-interventionist position and is staffed by former intelligence officials and generals that protect the government narrative instead of the truth. Additionally, it is extremely rare for mainstream media outlets to have on opposing viewpoints, especially from the left, to have debates and discussions. We need a return to fairness, truth and civil debate.
