• Don't Teach Violence-No Guns in Schools!
Armed guards at school and armed school personnel would imply that school violence is inevitable. It isn't-- and its only being proposed to protect the political agenda of the NRA. Assault weapons need to be banned NOW.

  • Start a PAC to Combat the Influence of the NRA
There is no reason why Americans should be constrained by the NRA's political influence. We need to start our own PAC to support legislators who will pass systemic gun control We need to stop being afraid of the NRA

  • Stop The Gun Slaughtering In America
Too many Americans have been slaughtered by permissive gun laws in this country. Even after the murder of 20 elementary school children the NRA and too many politicians do not get the message that this must stop. The time has come for the citizens of this great country to have their voices heard.

  • "Governor Walker: Please ban the sale of automatic weapons in WI."
I am a hunter and believe there is no need for anyone in our state to own an automatic weapon, the clips, and the ammunition for that fire arm.

  • Arming Teachers is not the Answer
In the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings, the NRA and other pro-gun advocates have stated that the key to ensuring the safety of our nation's students is to arm teachers and other school staff members. As a teacher myself, this is a fundamentally absurd notion that will only serve to make our children feel less safe.

  • Teachers and guns in school
My daughter is 8 years old. Yes, I want her safe in school. NO I do not believe teachers being armed with guns is the answer. I personally believe every school should have an armed officer and metal detectors. No person(s) should be allowed on premises without being checked. No guns on school property is currently the law. So why not enforce it???

  • No Social Security Payment Reductions
Congress is considering reducing Social Security payments for current and future recipients, many of whom already struggle to make ends meet. We pay into Social Security our entire lives, and the government has no right to take it from us.

  • Demand the Justice department tell the truth about the Sandy Hook Killing
There are several inconsistencies in the official report given to the people, we demand an honest and transparent investigation be done. Release the tapes from the school and bring those who actually did the shootings to justice

  • Gun Control with Insurance
I have grandchildren in school. There safety is up-most in my mind. Forbidding guns never gets anywhere due to the 2nd amendment. Maybe private industry could do the job and thus gain some support from Republicans.

  • End the drone attacks in Pakistan
On October 30, 2006, a US-controlled drone struck a school in Pakistan and killed 83 people. None of them were militants. Only 3 of them were over the age of 20. The other 80 killed were children. This murder of civilians was barbaric, but it wasn't a one-time occurrence. In the past 8 years, US military drones have targeted Pakistani schools, funerals, religious centers. They have torn families apart. Pakistani civilians live in terror that their community will be destroyed. Their children wake up scared to go to school. Yes, the drone strikes kill militants. But just as often, they miss (or hit) and kill civilians. Shatter homes. Rip apart families and leave mothers crying for children maimed or murdered. And, even though Bush started the practice, over 80% of drone strikes have occurred under Obama. It is time for this violence to stop.We as a nation are better than that, and it is time for us to stand up for our principles. As our president, Obama needs to take a stand. He fought for gun control to end mass shootings. He fought for gay rights and the rights of workers. Now, I am calling on him to end the drone war and stand up for civilian rights.
