We Won't Back DownSign this petition and encourage allowing the fiscal cliff deadline to hit, and the President's re-election promise to allow the Bush-era tax breaks for the wealthy to expire. The deadline draws near, December 31, 2012. This may take sacrifice on the part of middle class citizens, but it is past time to stand our ground.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Catherine Hornbeck

Verified Vote of NRA Members on Background ChecksMost NRA members are regular people, Moms and Dads, responsible gun owners who are concerned as we all are about public safety. I would like to hear their voices and see if they match up with Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President on Friday. He came out and blamed everyone else, taking no responsibility whatsoever. His attitude was the epitome of white privilege and entitlement. He was cold and defensive. So, if he speaks for the NRA, we need to know. Is the NRA a democratic organization, or has it been taken over by right wing extremists?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kris Ellisor

Safe Rooms for ClassroomsSchool massacres must end. The NRA says 'arm everybody.' Legislators want tighter restrictions on assault weapons, magazines or ammunition. Why not make our children's classrooms safer instead. Most have been constructed of cement block already, so solid core or steel doors with magnetic locks could make them virtually impenetrable. External lock-down from the principle's office or a card swipe from within the classroom could prevent the bloodshed and death like we've seen in our schoolhouse shootings2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Teresa Pyles

Anti-NRA Alliance for Ban on Assault Weapons and TAX on AmmunitionGun Violence is epidemic in the US and the National Rifle Association holds far too much power over Congress. Poll after poll shows that Americans support gun control. Let's take back power, defeat the NRA, and vow to campaign for politicians who rally to protect Americans and their children. We can stop the NRA by building a national Anti-NRA Alliance. Sign this petition pledge to support legislators who oppose gun violence and who support restrictions on gun sales and high taxes on ammunition.169 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Alice Bullard

Tax Guns, Fund School SecurityI want my kids to come home safe at the end of each school day. With education budgets squeezed everywhere, schools don't have the resources to adequately protect our children from tragic events like the mass killing in Newtown, Connecticut. We need a revenue stream to secure our children's safety.127 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Scott Helke

Repeal the Second AmendmentWhereas the Second Amendment was crafted at a time when the U.S. had neither national standing army nor the States a national guard; whereas the frontier and wilderness conditions of 18th- and 19th-century America no longer apply; whereas the authors of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution had no concept of the types of 21st-century weaponry that is readily available to private citizens: it is long past time to repeal the Second Amendment.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Irving H. Protecting our children from assault weaponsI own two pre-schools and have two little granddaughters the age of the Sandy Hook victims. I am outraged at the NRA's proposal to put armed guards in every school instead of common sense gun regulation. This petition is an attempt to take their position to the ultimate level.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Debbie Cook

REPEAL THE SECOND AMENDMENTMy home was the target of a 16 year old with a high powered rifle. Fortunately, no one was home. Bullets came through the living room window and out through the back wall of the house.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rudolph Renwick Garypie
