All votes on prop 37 were not accounted for , this is the action to hold accountability on our voting system

The greatest right we have is to vote in our democracy but for some reason we have it on a day that has been more difficult to participate due to employment requirements and the population having to work more than one job thus making it inaccessible to many of our citizens. We should celebrate our right to vote!!!

Uganda Parliament is about to pass a bill that will impose the Death penalty on Gays in their Country. An American Minister scott lively, has been preaching that homosexuals are all pedophiles, and are after their children.

On the television news, there have been pictures of people in line at the polls, having to wait six or seven hours to vote. This is unacceptable. It amounts, in effect to suppressing the vote, becuase not everyone could endure waiting, or disrupting their daily routine, for so long. There should be legislation to require state and local aurthorities to have enough staff on hand to handle reasonably predictable crowds of people without such long delays. State and local governments should be required to report long delays and prove that they have taken appropriate action to bring about a satsifactory decrease in the risk that such delays could happen again.

In Michigan, same-sex marriage is illegal, as well as adoption by a gay couple. This petition affects 4.9 million gay people in the state of Michigan. We need to tell the Michigan government that these laws are cruel, discriminatory, and prejudice. This affects not only myself, but many others around me. It affects many communities around the state.

This petition would allow the maximum number of citizens to vote. This year my application was denied on the cutoff date. Having a pre-election cutoff date too far in advance of an election may prohibit many qualified individuals from having the opportunity to vote. Hospitalizations, child-care issues, natural disasters, etc. all can cause a delay in registering ahead of time. This year, people were allowed to register on election day in areas affected by hurricane Sandy. This means the technology exists. This option should be available for everyone NOW.

Across the country on election day, voters went to the polls expecting to exercise their civic duty. Most succeeded. But many came away frustrated by language barriers and invented rules, exhausted from standing for hours in long lines, and, in some cases, disenfranchised. In Pennsylvania, a voting machine changed a resident's vote from Obama to Romney. In South Florida, voters waited in excess of seven hours. In Virginia, Obama campaign workers documented the long lines in case voters were turned away once the polls closed. By the end of election night, hours after victory was in hand, President Barack Obama had the voting problem on his mind. "I want to thank every American who participated in this election," he said in his speech to supporters in Chicago. "Whether you voted for the first time or waited in line for a very long time." As the crowd roared, Obama declared: "By the way, we have to fix that." Mr. President, here are 11 common sense ways we can fix that. These are simple measures that anyone, no matter whether you're a Democrat, a Republican or anywhere else on the political spectrum - can agree to.

We the undersigned citizens of the United States of America, petition our Congress to repeal the Articles of our United States Constitution, that authorize the Electoral College. We are convinced that we are entitled to and capable of electing our President and Vice-President, with our popular vote. Had we citizens elected our President by the popular vote in 2000, Al Gore/John Edwards would have been our President and Vice-President; and the Iraq War, never would have taken place.

The men and women in uniform who fight for our rights were unable to vote!

The "English Only" law currently on the books in Iowa marginalizes and demeans non-native English speakers, decreases the likelihood of creating and maintaining multilingual courses and entire schools, and gives all students the false impression that languages beside English are unimportant for them to learn, even though most other countries on the planet promote multilingualism within their educational institutions.

President Obama has an Executive Order on his desk, waiting for his signature, that would prohibit companies that do business with the government from discriminating against their employees based on sexual orientation or gender identity. That would cover almost one quarter of the American workforce, but the President is dragging his heels. Each day that the President waits means that government agencies and federal contractors are free to fire or to not hire LGBT Americans simply because of who they are.

Seeing the long lines during the 2012 presidential election dictates that Washington DC do something to make elections in the US better.
