• Make Voting Accessible and Convenient in Ohio
Voters in Summit County can expect long lines, confusion about times, and where they can vote during the upcoming early voting period for the 2012 election. That’s because the Summit County Board of Elections is deadlocked on extending hours for early voting and choosing an early voting location that is accessible and convenient for voters. It doesn’t have to be this way though. The Board of Elections can vote again and if one of the Republican members switches their vote, Summit County voters will have more flexibility and accessibility making early voting easy and convenient.

  • Birth Right to Vote for Citizens
Allow every Natural Born U.S. Citizen without Photo I.D. to VOTE ************************************************************************ Dear Attorney General Holder, The 1965 Voting Rights Act is legislation in which America can be truly proud. However, in the past two years it has come under assault by politicians who seem to care more about Winning at any cost, than about fairness and dignity. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, along with countless other Americans, gave their lives for the freedoms so many enjoy today and one of the most important initiatives they fought for was the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Today, we have States that are seeking to change the election process to such a degree that discrimination is inevitable. The proponents of these changes have managed to get Voter I.D. Laws changed at the state level, and now it is up to you Sir, to decide whether to allow this injustice to continue, or to do what is fair and just, and approved by WE THE peoples, " Right To Vote Action" Please don't let the rights that so many Americans fought and died for to be for nothing. Don't approve any changes to the election process that may Disenfranchise any American Voter. Lets put these useless Voter I.D. laws to use for the people! ************************************************************************

  • Get MoveOn.org to caption, subtitle, or provide a transcript for every video they urge MoveOn.org...
There are at least a million Deaf or hard of hearing people in the United States. All of these people require captions, subtitles, or a transcript in order to understand any online video (digitally-recorded) content that is distributed. MoveOn.org therefore excludes a significant Deaf and hard of hearing population each and every time MoveOn.org posts a video without captions, subtitles, or a transcript. Deaf and hard of hearing activists (and there are many) are repeatedly excluded from understanding the content of videos, and therefore, cannot share them or participate in any form of political action involving social networking/sharing of videos. MoveOn.org can't claim to promote social justice while perpetuating injustice.

  • Violation of Property Rights
I read many stories about Monsanto levying charges on farmers for growing GMO crops because the wind blew pollen from a neighbor on their crop. The opposit is true, Monsanto is Trespassing on other property with their polluting GMO pollen and their investigators examining crops on land they were not invited to trespass on. Monsanto should pay surrounding farmers for trespassing violation and polluting their crops!

  • State of California: Don't take away accessibility for over 3.6 million Californians
California led the way in including people with disabilities and seniors in all of our communities by requiring that public spaces be physically accessible. Decades before the ADA was adopted, California put disability civil rights into law and regulation. Now, with no new studies – but with lots of pressure by certain business interests – the California Building Standards Commission will vote on a proposal by the new State Architect to reduce decades-old access requirements in a rushed 'emergency' vote this Thursday, July 19th. Tell the CBSC not to push people with disabilities and seniors back into physically segregated conditions.

  • Stop bogus/false foreclosures in Sonoma County
Our farm and home were illegally sold in Freestone ,Sonoma County,Calif. by a local predatory lender. Sonoma County courts ignored our evidence, but lawyers and real estate experts showed us it was a "bogus foreclosure". One of the real estate fraud scam people involved was recently arrested by the F.B.I. The Sonoma County courts need to return property like ours to the rightful owners and provide assistance in clearing titles. Homeowners civil rights need to be respected.

  • Stop Voter Suppression
The voter ID laws that have been passed in twentysomething states are merely a revival of Jim Crow Laws and poll taxes. As a country, we have grown past these archaic, racist laws yet we have stumbled as a democracy when the powers to be can enact a law that is a subterfuge. The proponents of the law claim that there are fraudulent voters, yet in the past 12 years there has only been 13 proven attempts to misrepresent a voter's true identity. This law requires a voter to produce identification at the poll. If a voter does not have a driver's license, he/she must produce a state-verified voter ID which can only be obtained with #1...a birth certificate...and #2 a social security card ..#3 ... utility records showing past bills paid. A passport will also suffice though a passport currently costs $150 and expires after ten years. In Pennsylvania, 9.2% of the population currently will be banned from voting. A large number of that percentage are in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, both cities with large African-American populations. Representative Turzai recently...and proudly stated that the republican congress of Pennsylvania has successfully passed a voter ID law which in his words has thrown Pennsylvania into Governor Romney's camp. His words to the Republican State Committee in Hershey were directed toward the republican-dominated congress in which he stated, " Voter ID laws which are going to allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania...DONE! It is on tape...simply Google it. This petition is important in that on July 25th, the law will be review by the courts and hopefully will go before the state supreme court before the election. Please sign this petition to repeal this onerous law intended NOT to correct voter irregularity but merely a means to deny a segment of the population their constitutional right.

  • Alaska Lt Gov Denies Homeless Vet's Candidacy for State House
LTC(Ret) Barbara Bachmeier was certified to run for the Alaska State House in the upcoming elections, but after her opponent filed a residency challenge, Lt Gov Mead Treadwell disallowed her candidacy, knowing that the decision did not include a complete review of all the evidence. After telling Barbara that he did not have any involvement with the decertification decision and pledging to look into the matter, Treadwell chooses to ignore all inquiries. [Some offices in Alaska state government, are not required to respond to constituent inquiries. Governor's office states this is not their problem.]
