No religious Indoctrination in Kentucky SchoolsRecently there are has been a push by Kentucky Republicans to force Kentucky Schools to teach creationism in science classes to indoctrinate what is "faith"and "religion" based dogma as potential truth. My daughter Emily does not need to be assaulted with the "faith" of others insisting a religious myth is true. Public school is not about indoctrinating faith and this needs to be halted. This indoctrination of faith imposes on the sanctity of families to instill in their children that families system of beliefs and means of discerning truth.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert D Moreland

Pocatello Human Rights City OrdinanceDiscrimination against a person for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender is wrong. The City of Pocatello should enact a Human Rights City Ordinance to protect all its residents from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. An all-inclusive and welcoming city fosters economic progress and good relations among city residents, which is essential to the growth and vitality of the city's neighborhoods and businesses.950 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Susan Matsuura

Just say NO to PA's Voter Photo ID LawPennsylvania's new voter ID law will require voters to show valid photo ID at the polls at this fall's election for president and state and local offices. Pennsylvania does not have a voter fraud problem. Requiring voter ID at the polls will mostly hurt women, the poor, the elderly, and people of color.54 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gene Ramsbottom

Take down "Heterosexual Awareness Month" from FacebookThe Facebook page, "Heterosexual Awareness Month", was established some time in June. It has consistently posted anti-GLBTQI* messages and images, and takes part in fear-mongering and demonising the Queer community. It is a gathering place for those that openly hate queer folk, and they are trying to forward their mission with t-shirts, pamphlets, and booths/tables in public places. They are a vehicle of hatred and need to be shut down.333 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Nancy

Husted let OH early vote on weekendsMy name is Kevin Davis, and the reason why, I'm starting this petition is because while Secretary of State Husted has done a somewhat good thing by having uniform voting hours, they're only for early voting during the week though, not the weekend, still trying to suppress the vote here in Ohio, which is still wrong.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Davis

Support Justice Johnson's StruggleJustice Bernette Johnson joined the Louisiana Supreme Court in 1994, elected to a special seat created to remedy racial disparities in Louisiana's justice system. Now, she's the lone black Supreme Court justice in a state where nearly one-third of residents are black. Johnson thought she was next in line on the seven-member panel to be chief justice, based on seniority. But some of her colleagues say that's not the case. The state constitution specifies that the judge with the longest service would automatically fill that position. Justice Johnson has been on the court longer than anyone other than Chief Justice Kimball.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bruce W. Johnson

Why Native Americans Don't Use $20 BillsAndrew Jackson is glorified by his portrait on the $20 bill of the United States, along with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Hamilton, Ulysses Grant, and Benjamin Franklin. Jackson was the worst type of slaveholder and was responsible for the cruel and brutal forced removal of Native Americans from their homelands to Oklahoma known as the Trail of Tears. It would be a simple and meaningful statement against genocide to remove him from our currency.77 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve McDaniel

Boycott Maker's Mark LoungeSince they want to continue their blatant racial discrimination, it's time hit them where it hurts! No equal treatment of all patrons = no business! This petition was started due to the incident that occurred on August 18, 2012 to Will Green as well as a way for those other individuals who have also experienced racial discrimination while patrionizing this business to tell their story.2,051 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Christina Malone

Support Early Voting in OhioAfter significant pressure, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has now announced that he is ordering "all 88 county boards of elections to stay open the same hours this fall". While this is a significant step forward for voting rights in Ohio, the hours selected by the Secretary of State are still shorter than those available in 2008. Further, the rules do not allow for any in-person early voting on weekends, the best time for many folks to vote. We're calling on Jon Husted to support in-person voting hours on weekends.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michelle Burstion-Young
