Tell Monsanto: Endorse California's Proposition 37, Require GMO food labelingIn Europe Monsanto has publicly stated that food labeling has Monsanto’s full backing and that Monsanto fully supports food manufacturers and retailers in their introduction of labels on genetically engineered food in Europe. We request that the Monsanto Company look carefully at its own principles, code of conduct, and previous statements, and reconsider its position on the labeling of genetically engineered food in California. We believe that the respectful and ethical choice is for Monsanto to publicly endorse California’s PROPOSITION 37 - the November, 2012 ballot initiative to require labeling of genetically modified foods sold in California. Monsanto pledges on its website to demonstrate integrity, respect, ethical behavior, perspective and honesty in everything its employees, contractors and management do. Monsanto also pledges to provide extensive educational programs, and to “ensure that information is available, accessible, and understandable.” In the U.S. Monsanto continues to oppose the labeling of genetically engineered foods, even though it would indicate they contain Monsanto’s own products. Monsanto currently complies with labeling regulations in the European Union. Why is the U.S. different? Why does Monsanto hide from us what they readily provide to the people of Europe? People have a right to know what ingredients are in their food. Millions of people are concerned about genetically engineered food for reasons related to environment, health, and/or social issues, and want genetically engineered food to be labeled. As a matter of integrity their concerns should be respected. Current regulations in California and the U.S. do not require labeling of genetically engineered food. California’s Proposition 37 would require that genetically engineered food sold at retail in California be labeled. 970,000 signatures were gathered in California to place Prop 37 on the ballot. Many more consumers in California, the U.S. and the world want to be told if their food contains genetically modified ingredients. We call upon the Monsanto Company to endorse Proposition 37, the California Right to Know Initiative, that would require genetically engineered food to be labeled in retail food products in California.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ben Pittenger

Hands OffThere are too many ways for companies to get your money without your permission. A law needs to be passed to protect the right of the individual to keep other hands off their money. Charges and or fees should not be charged to a payment system without at least a verbal, recorded authorization. The "grab the money" and let them fight us to get it back system needs to stop, and stop now. The people that are hurt by it the most are the ones that can afford it the least. NO MORE ASUMED MONEY GRABBING. "Hands OFF"17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dennis Love

Bring back the Fairness DoctrineSince Reagan repealed the Fairness Doctrine in the mid 1980's, our airwaves have been chocked full of lies, deliberate misrepresentations and slander. Presented in a format imitating real news, it suggest these misleading comments are true and unbiased. It has created a dangerous arena for balanced political equality. It is time to reinstate this law and get back to serving the public's interest.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patrick Duncan

If You Think You're Covered By Your Homeowner's Insurance Policy - Think AgainI had a legitimate homeowner's insurance claim denied. The Insurance Commissioner's office in Georgia is useless. All they do is make sure the legal requirements are met. Even if the denial is based on nonsense, they have no building inspector who can look at the claim and make any determination. No lawyer would take the case because the homeowner can't collect anything except the cost of the repairs. That means the homeowner has to pay the attorney out of what is won, and what's left isn't enough to make the repairs. The insurance companies know this, so it is in their best interest to deny claims. They lose nothing and stand to make interest on the money for as long as they keep it.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Randee Head

Only Police & Federal Agents should have guns!Approximately 1,379,400 people died in US hospitals in 2007, the most recent year for which statistics are available. This averages roughly 3,779.2 deaths per day. How many people would be alive today if guns were not available to citizens that were not police or federal agents? What about your love one or some one you know. Because guns are made available many people are dead and sure to die, today.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cat
