Corporate news providers (papers and TV-based) are becoming irrelevant to keeping informed. Recently on Sunday newscasts, experienced news people were referring to Paul Ryan's speech (of downright lies) as over reaching. Citizens don't watch the news to listen to euphemisms. We need the media to vigorously target downright lying and other propaganda techniques.

Bring back the "for the common good" clause in corporate charters and enforce it. Require corporations to contribute some percentage of their revenue (e.g. 30%) to their local communities. Enforce substantive penalties for violating their obligation to the public good, up to and including "execution" -- nationalizing the corporation and all its assets, and jailing/executing the officers and directors. Corporations should be held accountable to the public at large, not just their direct shareholders, and profit must not be their only motive to exist.

Inspired by similar efforts at college campuses across the United States, this petition aims to censure Chick-fil-A's discriminatory practices against the LGBT community as well as to foster a more diverse and just campus life at the University of North Florida. However, the company has spoken openly against LGBT equality and consistently funded groups that seek to curb LGBT rights. In fact, Chick-fil-A has donated over $5 million dollars to anti-gay organizations between 2003 - 2010, supporting groups such as Focus On The Family, Exodus International, and the Family Research Council. Having worked in a situation that demanded I put up with demeaning and abusive language and actions, I belive that we need laws to protect the workers in the USA from corperations that allow this kind of abuse to go on in the name of the bottom line.

A&P Supermarkets just emerged from bankruptcy. Anyone injured in their stores is being offered five cents on the dollar, a figure which doesn't even pay the medical bills. I am injured for life and facing expensive stem cell treatment, which is not covered by insurance. Thousands of people are in my position.

Wall Street bankers with Ivy League pedigrees can manipulate an $800 trillion interest rate market and destroy the lives and livelihoods of millions of good, hardworking people around the globe, and not go to jail or anything. But if you get caught with a joint, you are thrown in jail and you get a record. Creating a system a more just system ought to be what democracy is about rather than who can plunder the commons. Corporations need to be held accountable for making jobs if they want to continue to recieve tax breaks and call themselves job creators. I have worked for a major corporation for five years and I have watched them cut hours and demand more work every year.

Since corporations are people, they (the executives) should go to jail for negligent homicide for oil disaster and mine disaster deaths etc. People do when they hit someone with a car.
