NRA Shooting Victims FundI believe that the NRA should show some compassion for the victims of mass shootings like both the Colorado shootings - Columbine and the Aurora incident. If they can maintain the most powerful lobby in the world, threaten law makers with being thrown out of office with the wrong vote, pay their head over $!M/yr, they should be able to afford to aid the victims of such catastrophes. The local hospitals are kicking in for partial forgiveness for victims bills. If the NRA can't be shamed into standing down from everyone needing an AK-47 w/100 clip, then they should be willing to pay for some of the consequences. This petition is to call them out to start a fund fo9r victims of such heinous crimes.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Hursey

Reinstate the Glass-Steagall ActProvisions of the Glass-Steagall Act directly supported a more level economic playing field and a six-decade rise of a more egalitarian financial system and strong middle class. It did so by limiting the power of financial institutions. Its 1999 weakening, permitting mergers of commercial and investment banks, ushered in the current era of reckless and potentially ruinous banking practices which, in 2008, brought the USA and the world to the brink of financial disaster. Despite notable legislative efforts to correct this, intensive lobbying from the banking industry has seen to it that essentially nothing has changed. The economy remains at great risk. Our banking system must be brought back to serving the people first while reliably sustaining the economy that supports us all, rather than abetting any further drain on its lifeblood by the wealthiest among us. Stability in America depends upon a viable middle class. The Glass-Steagall Act provided excellent protections for that class and the economy as a whole. While it will require updating to better function in the modern world, its reinstatement will go a long way to provide a powerful economic safety net that will more reliably limit ongoing risk to the strongest economy in the world.114,480 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Mitchell Gershten

End Credit Card Usury RatesFinancial Institutions recently bailed out with billions of taxpayer dollars are hurting the nation's economy and ruining the lives of millions of hard-working ethical people who are trying to do what's right. Even if you've paid on time for 15 years without missing a single payment they will still charge you between 20 and 30% interest if they feel they can get away with it (i.e., if they feel you are "trapped" into paying them. This is not only wrong, but they don't deserve such a luxury. They did not take the risks - they were bailed out with our money. There is no logical reason to allow them to hurt our fellow Americans and to slow down our economy with their usury rates. We must repair our economy and prevent more homelessness and poverty that these institutions are causing.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ruth Miller

Gun Liability FundWatching the damage inflicted on people by guns and ammunition in Aurora, CO and hearing of the economic consequences to the injured individuals, I wondered what approach would result in those who profit from guns and ammunition being held economically responsible for the results of their trade.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bruce Storey

Employees against billion dollar companies (Ford Motors)Ford Motors have employed one thousand and more new workers, but with lower wages, and limited health care. The new workers are on the most difficult jobs and get paid not half but a their less than the older seniority workers. To this date seniority workers have made $60,000 and this just the middle of the year 2012, lower seniority workers and new hires are just now getting to $19,000 they have made half of 2012; this is not fair and this should change. The UAW is aware of this but the don't do anything about it, but sell these workers hopes and dreams of this changing. The other issue is the fact that the Chicago, Illinois is operating like we live in a third world country. Employees have to work in inhuman conditions; such as the plant being120° to 140° and the people have to work 10.7 hours in this heat, plus the workers are not allowed to seat when the line stop, workers have to work with big roaches and rats. Employees who are injured are made to do jobs that hurt them more to the point that they have to have several surgeries. Ford Motors have their own doctor and nurses in the plant and the throw out their employees doctor restrictions and that's even after the injury is found to be work related. This company has let it be known to their employees that they do not care about their safety, health or their family. And a medical lawsuit means nothing to a company who has billions. They look at these lawsuits and dish out the bare minimum to a employee who is injured for the rest of their lifesaver. This has to stop, so I am asking people to read do research and you will find out all this is true about Ford Motors and other American made companies. Please help me and others stop these companies from operating on USA soil in this manner.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shirley Sullivan-payton

Consumer Knowledge and PowerAs consumers, we do not know much about the companies we buy from. Some outsource jobs and others care about social justice and give to the community for example. Some care about the environment, while others don't. Some pay little or no taxes while others pay a lot of taxes to the US. We need a Governmental website that gives us knowledge about big companies and their values, which will give us power and choice into how we spend our money. Through our collective dollar, everyone can help shape business ethics to be more humane - if we spend our money on ethical companies. Hence, ethical businesses would have a rise in profits and unethical companies would have a decrease in profits. Ideally, an ethical "arms race" between businesses could ensue - if the business wants to survive. Before you know it, America could be littered with ethical businesses...what a world that could be...1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jarod Gonzalez

A corporation is not old enough to sign a contract. The Supreme Court has decided that Corporations are people, but a person cannot sign a contract or determine what is best for them until they reach the age of 18 years old. All contracts entered into by a corporation before it's 18th year should be considered illegal contracts with a minor. Furthermore, since none of these corporations have parents to provide for them they should all be considered wards of the state until they are old enough to make decisions for themselves.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ray Teller

CEO Bailout - Give it back! This petition is intended to force action against those Executives who received Government-funded (taxpayer money) bonuses directly after causing the biggest financial crisis in recent history. These bonuses are undeserved and should be given directly back to the people. The masses should not have to suffer for the benefit of the few, the United States of America is better than this, do not allow this injustice to continue unchecked.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Wingard-Phillips
