• Overturn Citizens United
Since the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision in Citizens United, a tidal wave of undisclosed, special interest cash has crashed down on races all across the country. We don’t know where all this money is coming from, and we don’t know what kind of right-wing agenda those donors are pushing. But what we do know is that the Supreme Court won’t be revisiting its decision anytime soon. It’s up to us to stop the flow of secret, corporate cash in our elections–and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United will accomplish that. I've signed on to a constitutional amendment that would effectively overturn the Citizens United decision, and I'm inviting you to sign on, too.

  • Truth in Media
We the people deserve accurate media. Campaign ads that are outright Lies should not be allowed to air. Reporters need to call out obvious lies whenever they arise. There are too many bold lies told by Mitt Romney, his ads and the GOP. Lies are not news. Letting Lies go unchallenged hurts the integrity of any election.

  • Democracy over Capitalism...Bring back the Draft.
Regressives use wealth, Flat earth philosophy, secrecy, and middle men to change America back into the slavery from which our war of Independence extracted us. Lincoln, Eisenhower, and now books by George Lakoff and Carl Marlantes show the framing.

  • IRS audit of Mitt Romney's Tax return, or how did Mitt game the tax code to evade taxes.
Quite simply $100,000,000 in an IRA is an extremely large accrual. The WSJ reported that contributions were made at a value set by Bain and of course Mitt is Bain. Fraudulent valuations skirt the limits set by congress. It is normal for the IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue to audit the taxes of those with suspiciously large entries in their filings. It is time for an audit.

  • No more help for free for big corporations.
Yes! I do not qualify for a refinancing of my home. I have always paid on time and my credit is the highest possible. When a big corporation loses income and assets and it is "too big to fail", that corporation or "person" gets a much better treatment than the person who is "too small to be helped", too unimportant to care about when it comes to ensure power.

  • NRA Shooting Victims Fund
I believe that the NRA should show some compassion for the victims of mass shootings like both the Colorado shootings - Columbine and the Aurora incident. If they can maintain the most powerful lobby in the world, threaten law makers with being thrown out of office with the wrong vote, pay their head over $!M/yr, they should be able to afford to aid the victims of such catastrophes. The local hospitals are kicking in for partial forgiveness for victims bills. If the NRA can't be shamed into standing down from everyone needing an AK-47 w/100 clip, then they should be willing to pay for some of the consequences. This petition is to call them out to start a fund fo9r victims of such heinous crimes.

  • Reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act
Provisions of the Glass-Steagall Act directly supported a more level economic playing field and a six-decade rise of a more egalitarian financial system and strong middle class. It did so by limiting the power of financial institutions. Its 1999 weakening, permitting mergers of commercial and investment banks, ushered in the current era of reckless and potentially ruinous banking practices which, in 2008, brought the USA and the world to the brink of financial disaster. Despite notable legislative efforts to correct this, intensive lobbying from the banking industry has seen to it that essentially nothing has changed. The economy remains at great risk. Our banking system must be brought back to serving the people first while reliably sustaining the economy that supports us all, rather than abetting any further drain on its lifeblood by the wealthiest among us. Stability in America depends upon a viable middle class. The Glass-Steagall Act provided excellent protections for that class and the economy as a whole. While it will require updating to better function in the modern world, its reinstatement will go a long way to provide a powerful economic safety net that will more reliably limit ongoing risk to the strongest economy in the world.

  • End Credit Card Usury Rates
Financial Institutions recently bailed out with billions of taxpayer dollars are hurting the nation's economy and ruining the lives of millions of hard-working ethical people who are trying to do what's right. Even if you've paid on time for 15 years without missing a single payment they will still charge you between 20 and 30% interest if they feel they can get away with it (i.e., if they feel you are "trapped" into paying them. This is not only wrong, but they don't deserve such a luxury. They did not take the risks - they were bailed out with our money. There is no logical reason to allow them to hurt our fellow Americans and to slow down our economy with their usury rates. We must repair our economy and prevent more homelessness and poverty that these institutions are causing.

  • Gun Liability Fund
Watching the damage inflicted on people by guns and ammunition in Aurora, CO and hearing of the economic consequences to the injured individuals, I wondered what approach would result in those who profit from guns and ammunition being held economically responsible for the results of their trade.
