Corporations are not people and should not have been granted rights by the Supreme Court. Rights were not granted by the Constitution or by the 14th Amendment. Only people should have rights.

The Proposed Zero Contributions Campaign Finance Amendment to the United States Constitution is a campaign finance reform effort to eliminate the influence of financial contributions on our elected officials.

Elections are being bought by corporate interests. The will of the people is not being served by this. HR459 titled the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011 is currenty in committee in the U.S. House. Paul Ryan is the only Republican from WI not to consponsor it. Democrat Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senate candidate has cosponsored it. What does Mr. Ryan have against transparency of the FED? Perhaps it has something to do with big business corporate interests as evidenced in his strong support of WI Gov. Scott Walker. In the Citizens United case Supreme Court concluded that corporate donations amount to protected free speech but did not address whether the same holds true for foreign corporations. I agree w/ Justice John Paul Stevens who had said "It will be necessary to explain why the First Amendment provides greater protection of some nonvoters than to that of other nonvoters" .

My petition is an attempt to to prevent the the buying of America with Corporate money. Citizens need care about big money because we are losing our country.

100's of homeowners who qualified for various home loan modifications were unprocessed or stalled by Citi's multiple phone lines and agents in 5 different states to confuse and replicate the "required documents" for periods of 6 months to 2 years and put in foreclosure sales during the time; even while receiving formal UPS delivered letters verifying approval.

Banks used bogus, forged, paperwork to kick family's out of their homes. A firm was contracted to sign documents with a fake signature indicating the banks owned the property. There needs to be an indictment of those responsible, just as we would be jailed for committing forgery for financial gain.. This was detailed by some of the very people hired on 60 Minutes!

While most oil companies give political contributions to both political parties, Exxon Mobil, the most profitable corporation in the world, gives almost exclusively to Republicans. In this age of Citizens United, it is important for (non-corporate) citizens to make sure their voices are not drowned out by corporate money. Withdrawing support from companies that work against our core values is the only recourse we presently have to fight against egregious corporate power.

Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS organization and other right wing groups are listed as tax exemp social welfare groups under the Internal Revenue Code section number 501(c)(4) whose primary purpose legally CANNOT be political activity. However, this group alone plans to spend well over $ 100 MILLION this year to try to ensure Obama is defeated. This group is clearly NOT furthering general social welfare but undertaking almost exclusively political activity. As such, it is in clear violation of US law. So far, the IRS has turned a blind eye to the activities of Crossroads and other right wing propoganda machines. But, the Republican party intends to spend over $ 1 BILLION of corporate contributions on this election, much of it thru this and similar groups operating illegally as non-profits. We the undersigned demand that the IRS quickly and publically investigate the activities of not only Crossroads GPS, but other major election influencing groups as well and ideally shut them down for violating the law and/or fine them and tax them.
