• Overturn Citizens United
The influence of big corporate money in politics is undermining our democracy. The solution we want to see is a constitutional amendment saying that money isn't speech and corporations aren't people. I'm especially concerned because my two kids will be going to public school soon, and tax breaks for the 1% are cutting off resources for our public schools. The only way that will ever really change is with campaign finance reform, starting with overturning Citizens United.

  • Re-Regulate the Airlines
For anyone who travels either for work, vacation, or perhaps for a family emergency, the consistent gouging by the airline industry is more than disturbing. From charging $100 for a checked bag, to giving the airline attendants the ability to throw anyone off a flight for any perceived infraction. There are also the additional 'fees' tacked onto your ticket, such as charging extra if you want to sit next to your travel companion. But re-regulation isn't just for consumers; it's also for employees. When several thousand feet in the air, on top of adequate pay, it should be mandatory for domestic flights, that pilot(s) are prohibited from working excessive extended hours or that everyone in the control tower is trained and well-rested. Otherwise, it threatens the general safety of everyone. There’s also the matter of domestic carriers’ finances, particularly in relation to competition. How are the airlines carriers, often claiming bankruptcy or severe deficits, which is frequently used to weaken the few remaining employee benefits and restructure finances, are consistently provided multiple federal bail-outs? Yet they still have the unimpeded ability to gobble up other airlines, leaving consumers with even fewer choices. Given that our dismally-performing domestic carriers are being given the approval to take their methods to international carriers – such United forming a ‘partnership’ with Lufthansa, one can only assume that this dysfunctional business-model is becoming a global reality.

  • Overturn Citizens United
Big money has too much of an influence on our political process, and Citizens United made things much worse by allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money to elect candidates. Personally, I have two kids in the public school system, and I'm concerned that because of the power of big corporations and tax breaks for the rich that our public schools are being starved of the resources they need.

  • Take the Bipartisan No-Vote Pledge
One-third of homeowners are underwater with their mortgage. That's 22,500,000 Americans stuck in limbo. 22,500,000 Americans who could be boosting the economy, if they could. Don't they deserve to be made whole also?

  • AAMCO: Stop Supporting Rush's Hate
The Rush Limbaugh Show spreads hate. Limbaugh disparages women and uses vile language. The number of national companies that advertise on the Rush Limbaugh show has shrunk to a precious few. AAMCO is one of those companies. We have tried emailing, messaging, phoning the corporate office as well as local dealerships. We want to help the CEO understand that tying the name AAMCO to such uncivil discourse is not good for his corporate image.

  • Hey Facebook, turn over our files
Given the enormous amount of highly personal data they gather and market, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn must be held accountable. Without the ability to challenge errors and remove sensitive information, we’re reduced to an algorithm’s assessment of who we are — right, wrong or damning. The government forces credit-rating firms to reveal our financial dossiers once a year at no charge. It should demand similar accountability from data aggregators.

  • Democrats: Take a stand for cleaning up Wall Street
Many Americans believe that there is enough evidence to either indict or remove from their positions various Wall Street malefactors, whose criminal and/or self-serving actions crumbled the economy. According to the DNC's 2012 Presidential Election Year Survey, this is not considered an issue to be raised in this year's election campaign. It should be.

  • Petition for Limits on Terms and Benefits for Members of Congress
Congress and the Presidency [the federal government] have not broken up illegal monopolies like Goldman, Sachs & Co and the oil companies that make up Big Oil who deal in "necessaries of life" such as gasoline and oil for heat now at very high prices that stop ordinary Americans' enjoyment of their liberty and pursuit of their happiness [less money available for travel and vacations]. This failure to break-up has been destructive of our unalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that triggers the People's right to alter or abolish the federal government set forth in the Declaration of Independence. Term limits for members of congress is a good first step to alter our federal government to stop improper influence by illegal monopolies over the members who favor special interests over ordinary Americans.
