The US Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution with the Bill of Rights declared that within the boundaries of the United States the people shall be sovereign. There was and is to be no power higher than that of the People. For the past century and a half, the US Supreme Court has, with a series of decisions, replaced the sovereign people with the sovereign corporation. That which was the creation of the people through the authority of the State has now become more powerful and more sovereign than the people. Our creation now stands over us and we must pay homage to it. The People must regain their rightful place. It can only do this by amending the US Constitution to remove the rights of persons from corporations, to make clear that corporations are the servants of the People and not the People's masters. Therefore, we support the effort of Move to Amend to amend the US Constitution to make the People sovereign.

I want the big banks held accountable for their fraud and replace Timothy Geithner as our Treasury Secretary who says that the big banks did not do anything illegal. Virtually the big banks' fraud was a terrorist type action that has destroyed pension plans, created millions of foreclosures and destroyed the hope and dreams of now millions of middle and working class Americans who do the "real work" of our country. Nevada is home to thousands of seniors who want/ need medical alert systems in their homes. A land line phone is needed for these systems. Cox and Century Link, have a monopolistic hold on phone service in Henderson/Las Vegas. they do not provide land line phone service. AT&T does provide it but Cox and Century Link have kept AT&T out. Let's break this stranglehold and get the service we need.

ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council, is comprised of state legislators and corporations, who pay to join. They then write model legislation that benefits the corporate backers' bottom lines and attempt to pass this legislation in state houses across the country. Much of it gets passed verbatim. The provision of a limitation of liability in most State Constitutions allows investors in corporations and LLCs to limit their liability for bad actions on their part to the amount of their investment. This Petition would reduce that limitation to 50% and the other 50% of the liability of a corporation or LLC would come out of the investor's personal funds. In order to fix our economic system, these investors need to have "skin in the game." Obviously, the present system is broken and provides too much irresponsibility.
