OSU is currently receiving bids to lease the parking operation for the next 50 years for $375 million. The operation currently puts $1.7 million per year into the core, runs the bus service, traffic, etc., and is one of the best-run parts of OSU. The university would lose money long-term and enrich private individuals at taxpayer expense.

Not only are they unfair, but million dollar bonuses also lead to reckless investment risks, economic instability, insider trading and other types of fraud. Marginal tax rates over 90% were the norm for about 30 years when America was more fair, happy, stable and successful, and they would go a long way now to get us back to those conditions.

I am increasingly concerned with the power exercised by the UNELECTED corporate executives. They spend a great deal of money influencing various issues at the state and local level. Particularly, I am alarmed by the broad corporate suppourt for groups like ALEC et al.

The latest financial loss at JP Morgan Chase clearly indicates that banks will not respect the restrictions of the Volker Rule. We had 50 years of safe banking when traditional lenders were separated from deal makers and trading firms. For the safety and integrity of the US financial system it is time to break up those "too big to fail."

Go back to what worked for 50 years and stop messing around with 2,000 pages of mush. The banks already know how to operate under it, so implementation would not be fraught with fuzzy interpretation. Solve the "Too Big to Fail" issue NOW.

Fourteen Pennsylvania legislators with ties to the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) have publicly stated that they are no longer affiliated with the controversial corporate front group. They join dozens of legislators across the country who are fleeing ALEC in response to public pressure from constituents. ALEC is behind the efforts to pass bills that strip away union rights, scale back child labor laws, attack the regulation power of environmental agencies, suppress voter rights with strict identification requirements, eliminate the social safety net, and privatize public services. ALEC is not just another public policy organization, it is a corporate front group supporting some of the most radical and dangerous legislation in the nation. Still, dozens of legislators, including more than 60 Democrats, have not publicly rejected ALEC. Two Democrats, Rep. Joseph Petrarca and Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, are members of ALEC and have not resigned. Sign this petition to get all PA Democratic legislators to publicly say NO to ALEC.
