• Excessive Bonuses Cause Problems
Not only are they unfair, but million dollar bonuses also lead to reckless investment risks, economic instability, insider trading and other types of fraud. Marginal tax rates over 90% were the norm for about 30 years when America was more fair, happy, stable and successful, and they would go a long way now to get us back to those conditions.

  • UNELECTED corporate power
I am increasingly concerned with the power exercised by the UNELECTED corporate executives. They spend a great deal of money influencing various issues at the state and local level. Particularly, I am alarmed by the broad corporate suppourt for groups like ALEC et al.

  • Reinstate Glass Steigel
The latest financial loss at JP Morgan Chase clearly indicates that banks will not respect the restrictions of the Volker Rule. We had 50 years of safe banking when traditional lenders were separated from deal makers and trading firms. For the safety and integrity of the US financial system it is time to break up those "too big to fail."

  • New Glass-Steagall Act
Go back to what worked for 50 years and stop messing around with 2,000 pages of mush. The banks already know how to operate under it, so implementation would not be fraught with fuzzy interpretation. Solve the "Too Big to Fail" issue NOW.

  • Tell PA Legislators to Quit ALEC
Fourteen Pennsylvania legislators with ties to the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) have publicly stated that they are no longer affiliated with the controversial corporate front group. They join dozens of legislators across the country who are fleeing ALEC in response to public pressure from constituents. ALEC is behind the efforts to pass bills that strip away union rights, scale back child labor laws, attack the regulation power of environmental agencies, suppress voter rights with strict identification requirements, eliminate the social safety net, and privatize public services. ALEC is not just another public policy organization, it is a corporate front group supporting some of the most radical and dangerous legislation in the nation. Still, dozens of legislators, including more than 60 Democrats, have not publicly rejected ALEC. Two Democrats, Rep. Joseph Petrarca and Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, are members of ALEC and have not resigned. Sign this petition to get all PA Democratic legislators to publicly say NO to ALEC.

  • Lower Taxes for income under $100,000 on a sliding scale
Petition is about taxes & the ceiling on prices are much too high for income of $100,000 & under, especially during these times when prices on everything have been raised due to oil & gas price increases. People within this range of income should sign petition because the 1% isnt paying as much as they should be. For ex: republican candidate is paying same ount of taxes as his secretary whose income is no where near as high as his. Also corporations have raised their prices on everything the consumer "needs" to buy (including food) to compensate their consumption price increases. Ex: Cereal companies, etc. have raised their prices considerably since the countries financial deficit syemming from stock market issues, gas increases, heating homes, electricity, etc.

  • Tell PA Legislators- Quit ALEC or join the GOP
There are at least two Democratic PA legislators who are members of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Those legislators are Rep. Joseph Petrarca (D, Armstrong, Westmoreland) and Rep. W. Curtis Thomas (D, Philadelphia). ALEC is not a lobby; it is not a front group. It is much more powerful than that. Through ALEC, behind closed doors, corporations hand state legislators the changes to the law they desire that directly benefit their bottom line. Corporations fund almost all of ALEC's operations. Participating legislators, overwhelmingly conservative Republicans, then bring those proposals home and introduce them in statehouses across the land as their own brilliant ideas and important public policy innovations—without disclosing that corporations crafted and voted on the bills. Our last petition worked- Rep. Kotik, Sen. Williams and Sen. Boscola have quit ALEC! New documents found that there are 2 more PA Dems in ALEC. Sign this petition and get the last two Dems to quit.

  • credit Card Interest Regulations
Most, if not all, credit cards carry an exhorbitant interest rate, making it take literally YEARS to pay off the damn things. Interest rates on credit cards should be slashed at least in half, and you know what?? I bet the banks will still be making tons of money in profits for their limousines, mansions, and oh yeah, maybe to pay their fair share of TAXES too.

Return the PUBLIC airwaves back to the PUBLIC and take them out of the hands of the propagandists.

  • Freddie Mac: Help your underwater borrowers
Recently the federal government and 49 state attorneys general concluded a settlement with the country’s five largest mortgage loan servicers that forces them to do more for their underwater borrowers. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are not parties to this settlement despite the fact that they own billions of dollars of underwater mortgage loans. We are calling on President Obama to force these quasi-government agencies to follow the terms of the settlement.

  • Oil and gasoline prices need to be lowered by government control
Gasoline and oil prices are double what they were a year ago. Even last year rich oil barrons were making billioms in profits and now they are quadrupling profits at the AMerican tax payers expense. Many American soldiers have sacrificed and died to protect oil american interests. We Americans have every right to control fuel prices. Many politcians, like Obama, receive lucrative donations from oil companies to ensure they control prices. It is time for American mass to control oil prices. Did you know Venesualians pay less than one dollar per gallon. For our country,s sake , please sign this petition to cut gasoline costs in half. We need 50 signatures by November 2012.
